Videos: BAFTA Outstanding Contribution to Cinema honour to Harry Potter series Videos from tonight's Orange British Academy Film awards, which was aired earlier this evening on BBC1 in the UK, have been released online. The first is of Stephen Fry introducing the Outstanding Contribution to Cinema award to the Harry Potter series, featuring a montage of clips and new interviews from Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Robbie Coltrane, Imelda Staunton, Mark Williams, and Julie Walters. J.K. Rowling, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, David Heyman, David Barron, Mike Newell, David Yates, and Alfonso Cuaron went on stage to receive that honour. That can be viewed here. Note: For all those asking, we mentioned earlier this week that Daniel Radcliffe would have loved to attend the BAFTAs, according to his reps, but could not attend due to his rehearsal commitment for How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying in New York. Helena Bonham Carter won Best Supporting Actress for her work in The King's Speech. Her winning speech and press room discussion have also been released online, and can be seen below (the best supporting actress category begins at about 2 minutes into the first clip). <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Ddr7OceV744" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Congratulations to all the winners, including many of Helena's The King's Speech cast and crew, and the movie itself, which won Best Film. |
-mental note to watch all the videos later- Congrats again to all! Very well deserved. |
Aw! I was watching the BAFTA's! The way i screamed when the HP guys came on! :xd: Congrats once again for winning the Outstanding Contribution to Cinema Award! :woot: And Stephen Fry gave them the award! Wow! He was the perfect guy to present that award! :xd: And congrats to Helena for winning the Best Supporting Actress Award! :woot: Her speech was so funny! The King's Speech won so many awards, it's incredible! |
Well deserved and it was something special to see them all on the podium. Although I did find it kind of funny how Jo pulled Rupert into the centre, then stood behind David Heyman, avoiding the camera. Well done, Potter. Hopefully more next year. |
Well deserved achievement for all connected with HP... I watched on BBC, and also through the gallery of the BAFTA pics...Maybe it's just me, but Emma looked subdued somehow. (tired maybe) Bonnie looked beautiful as always and Rupert very dashing in his suit & tie <3 <3 But where was Daniel ??? Oh yeah big congrats to Helena for her award for Best Supporting Actress.. |
Very well deserved! :) Great job! |
I'm uber proud and happy for them! |

looks like the Baftas are particularly awesome this year. And Helena's speech-- that has got to be one of the greatest acceptance speeches ever-- it had heart and it had humor. AWESOME! |
Ah too bad I missed the baftas, I'll bookmark these for later. Where was Daniel though? |
Aww I just finished watching this and was I the only one that started tearing up during the Harry Potter montage? It was so touching :'( And it seemed like Jo and Emma were this close to crying as well! Overall, I'm so proud of all of them. They definitely earned it and I'm looking forward to July 15th :) |
Job well done to all involved with the franchise!! :) |
Jo Rowling has really brought her books to life so much and David Heyman has done a lot by Jo! |
I loved the whole presentation, i do wish though they'd have made some reference to Dan's absence. Yes I know he's in NY rehearsing for 'How to suceed...' most of Potterdom also knows that...though a couple in this thread don't. So , if they don't the rest of the viewing public couuld be putting what ever negative spin they chose on his non appearance. |
Woohoo! They deserve to win. Congratulations. :D |
I miss Dan.wish he should have been there.Anyways dev patel looks cool |
Amazing videos!!!!!! Congrats!!!!!♥ |
They all deserved these awards and recognitions :D Congratulations to all! :woot: |
Oh my word! David talks forever!!!! Haha, TAKE THAT TWILIGHT! |
this truly is a well-deserved honor. |
"Take that, Twilight!" HAHAHA laughed for about 5 minutes after that  They totally deserved this award congratulations to them :) |
