Video: Half-Blood Prince VFX behind-the-scenes feature
Rising Sun, the special effects company partly behind the Harry Potter film franchise, have released a look at the visual designs used in Half-Blood Prince. Computer graphics implemented to digitally alter scenes involving Harry and Dumbledore's visit to Slughorn's home, the Weasley twins' joke shop, Draco's injured and bloody body when struck by the Sectumsempra curse, and Snape and Draco leaving Hogwarts at the end of the film, are shown in the video below.
Okay.....yes, the technology is amazing and there is a lot of hard-work, good job on that. But I still think that the movie should not forget the purpose and the originality (novel) as well as putting effort into content. But that just me, this is just my opinion, because I think that the content of the movie is more important than some variety technology show. This is not transformers, we are talking about HP. Well, sorry , this is just my opinion, and I am not the only one is thinking this way.
The thing is, with vfx in HP, it's so well-integrated that most of it doesn't scream 'fake', unlike other more action-orientated movies. So I don't think you can say, in all honesty, that they are flashy about what they can do.

Wow! They put so much detail in HP! It gives off such a good effect! And makes it so genuine. I love all the detail. It always looks really cool! It shows how much effort they put into the films!

I agree with you to a point, but how else would they bring the actual magic to life properly without the FX, no? The magic is secondary to the actual storyline and characters, but it's still a very important part of the saga.
I did not said that the technology is not important, the technology is extremely important, but my point is to not forget the uniqueness of HP. That just my opinion.
I love all the special effects in Harry Potter. They work so hard to get everything just right and to really bring that magical spark into the movies. It's amazing. They really do deserve a massive pat on the back
I respect your opinion, but the movie like Transformers are of hell of work if you ever saw it, they don't look fake, and people who are out of the theater are scream "amazing". But that movie don't have a plot whereas HP has a plot. Back to your argument, my point is that the technology of HOP is amazing and very important but the uniqueness of HP should not be forgotten. Through out of HP movie series, I had always seen something special in every series except in HBP (Half-Blood Prince). Sorry that I do not the same perception as you, but that just my opinion.
I meant Harry Potter using effects which are more naturalistic than robots smashing stuff . I don't think vfx overshadow the story at all because they are rarely obviously there.
