Sixth Magical Quill of Pottermore's Scavenger Hunt on Half-Blood Prince now closed
 

The Penultimate clue from Pottermore.com’s Magical Quill Scavenger Hunt has just been released, giving fans worldwide the opportunity to gain early access to J.K. Rowling’s Pottermore website by answering a question on the Sixth novel, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

SnitchSeeker will continue to bring you the latest news on Pottermore as soon as it’s available, including any updates from the Pottermore Insider. The Final Opportunity to secure an account for beta testing the website will be revealed between 12.30am and 3am BST – that’s less than 12 hours away! The clue will be based on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, so if you’ve not yet registered you may want to refresh your knowledge of Hallows and Horcruxes (for who knows what the question will be!)

Again, to clarify: the final round will release sometime between 12.30am and 3am BST on Saturday, which is the same as FRIDAY at 11.30pm – 2am GMT; 7.30pm – 10pm EST; 4.30pm – 7pm PST.

Note: If you figured out the clue and answer, and have been able to register and get your verification, you are done with this stage of the Pottermore experience. You will no longer have to register again this week through the Magical Quill challenge; the next part is to await for the Welcome Email for the Pottermore beta site, which will be sent anytime between August 7 to September 30, 2011.

The site lets me log-in and I havent come across someone who was denied access to the site for verification... You may have registered a different/wrong password.

I don't know if forgot password works for unverified accounts before but you can try that...

Hmm I don't know... as a general rule I know that 16 characters is the max but maybe they had 12 as the maximum. Try removing one character at a time... minimum I think is 6...

I think they've managed to exhaust this timezone's audience. We've had so many chances to register, so chances are those who wanted to sign up have mostly signed up.

The clue has been open for little over 50 minutes. I'm thinking because of the flash heavy wizarding world site that a lot of people are being delayed in waiting for the site to load. I had to wait 20 minutes before I saw the magical quill.

After 5 days of missing the clue, I finally got in! Congrats to everyone else who got in!

Just a piece of information for those who've not yet been to register - whilst the clue will be released on Saturday in the UK, that will be FRIDAY evening for people West of the Atlantic.

I just caught that, I've been sharing when the clue is up and when it's coming up on Facebook, and right before I looked and saw you post this, I put it up.

So, for clarification, it'll be TODAY FRIDAY(I didn't know it was Friday until I looked, xD).

Hey Gang-I don't want to alarm anyone but I received 2 emails for a request to change my Pottermore password that I did NOT request. I don't know if someone somewhere is trying to access my (or anyone else's) Pottermore account but I think that we Potter fans should be aware of the possibility of someone trying to do this. Again I don't want to alarm anyone but be aware of this happening. At the bottom of the email it said "If you did not request a Pottermore password reminder, please ignore this email." so I ignored it. Just remember-Constant Vigilance!

Yikes! Thanks for the warning! If there's a way to contact Pottermore and let them know...I would!

Hi! I'm trying to warn as many fans on all the Potter sites as much as I can and I am trying to find out how I can let the people at Pottermore know about this too. If anyone wants to spread the word to their Potter friends, they should. I'd just hate for anyone to get their Pottermore account hacked or whatever:( We've all worked so hard, staying up late, getting up early, etc to be part of the beta test and I'd hate to see a Potter fan lose it. So everyone please everybody heed the words of Mad Eye!

LOL. I don't know about walnut...unless it's a possible wand material...but River was The name one of the Weasley twins used on Potterwatch in DH.

Yes, my password was 16 characters long I think, and when I typed it into the login, it didn't work. After MANY failed attempts, I got in when I realized it allows 1 less than I made out my password to be when I made my account.

I got in on the very first clue. But I never recieved access to this website as the picture shown above. Was I supposed to register every day to recieve access like this? I hope I still get in early as I've only registered on Day 1.

If you found the quill on day 1 and recieved the validation email and confirmed it then you should get another email in a few weeks time like me and be on the beta.

Woah. After reading this, I went to my email and also got the same one! Except that I only got one email reset. I also ignore it -_-

It's just awful that anyone would try to hack someone's Pottermore account. I mean, we've all worked so hard to get the accounts that it'd be a complete FAIL to have someone snatch it away.

I have not received anything about someone attempting to hack mine...but I'm going to still be on the look out. Thanks for the heads up!

HARD - yes we did work hard! It's okay - they will never get our passwords, unless they had access to our e-mails.

Gave up on it. Waiting for October.

I got into pottermore on the 1st day and have been waiting all week for the quill quest to end but something that is bothering me, It says that the emails will be delivered between the 7th of august to the 30th september but is that official because pottermore haven't said that the emails will start tomorrow. I know they probably will be tomorrow but I just want to make sure that is the official date. So far since last 3 this morning when the quest was over information about pottermore has been non-existent :(

haha i got the quill on the third day cause i pulled an all nighter just to get it. my friend is a potter geek and she couldn't get it which i thought was weird cause i just got into harry potter only a bit ago.
