SnitchSeeker.com - Sir Michael Gambon would love to reprise Dumbledore role in 'Fantastic Beasts' films

Sir Michael Gambon jumped at the idea of wanting to reprise his role of Professor Albus Dumbledore in the upcoming Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them films. As the movie takes place in 1926, Dumbledore would have been 45 years old at the time.

Gambon commented on his aspirations during Tuesday's London premiere of his upcoming comedy, Dad's Army, which also costars Harry Potter alum Toby Jones (Dobby).

On wanting to play Albus Dumbledore - or rather, his father Percival - in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them:

"I want to be in it, yes," he confirmed.

"They've got a Dumbledore. They'll have a young Dumbledore, won't they? But I could be his dad. They could flashback to me."

Putting out a public plea, he added: "Can you mention it to them if you see them? I'd like to be his dad."

On the loss of former Harry Potter costar Alan Rickman:

"Ah Alan, my friend, my close friend… It's very upsetting he's not here," Sir Gambon said. "I was in Harry Potter with him for years and it's awful.

"Alan was such a lovely bloke a complete actor and helpful with everybody. Creative. We just miss him."

Producer David Heyman confirmed that Dumbledore will be referenced in the first Fantastic Beasts movie, but may not necessarily make a physical appearance.

The probability of Gambon reprising his Dumbledore role for the first Fantastic Beasts film is unlikely, as production is near completion. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, starring Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, hits theaters and IMAX in November.
