Rupert Grint confirmed to star in 6-week production of anti-war drama 'Comrade'
We reported earlier this month that Harry Potter actor Rupert Grint was in talks to star in the anti-war drama Comrade. Rupert's reps have just confirmed to SnitchSeeker that he WILL be starring in the feature movie, will head to Norway this Thursday to begin production in the coming days, and film his scenes in "about six weeks max."
Rupert will play British Private Robin Southey Smith, a "a young, redheaded rebellion," according to director Petter Næss. http://www.snitchseeker.com/gallery/...p_f6eae2f6.jpg
A synopsis of the film, to be directed by Petter Næss, is below. Quote:
Comrade is an anti-war movie. High above the harsh Norwegian wilderness, English and German pilots shoot each other to the ground after a violent chance encounter. Isolated, they must fight to survive the brutal winter. Though war has made them enemies, antagonism is hard to maintain as days go by. Through mutual need, unlikely friendships bloom. Somehow, they become comrades. War, after all, is absurd.
| Petter Næss discussed wanting to work with Rupert in an interview months ago. Quote:
"We met him in London, and this was something he would do in addition to many other projects he has going on. Grint thinks this is an interesting project," said Petter Naess to VG Nett.
"There are many talented young actors, but Rupert Grint is very right for the role. I can say just that he'll play a a young, redheaded rebellion."
| This will be the first feature Rupert will star in after the completion of the Harry Potter series, where he played Ron Weasley for the final time this past December for the Deathly Hallows: Part II epilogue. We will have much more on Comrade throughout the year. |
