Rowling on Dumbledore in Deathly Hallows

In a new interview with the Guardian Daniel Radcliffe reveals some of his thoughts about book 7, including a tidbit Jo Rowling revealed about Dubledore in Deathly Hallows.
Quote:

'Jo came down to the set at one point and I said, "Oh hello, why are you here today?" And she said, "Oh I just needed a break from the book - Dumbledore's giving me a lot of trouble." And I said, "But isn't he dead?" And she said, "Well, yeah, but it's more complex ..." I was like, [briskly] "OK, I'm not gonna ask anything else!"'
About Harry's role in the final book:
Quote:

What does he think will happen in the final book? Will he die?

'I think I will. I sort of hope I will, really. I think that's really the only way Jo can end it, if Harry and Voldemort... Maybe one can only die if the other one dies. I don't know that for sure. But I'm quite looking forward to doing a death scene, if I get that opportunity.'

But honestly, he says, he has no idea of how the series will end. Nor does he want to. He's a Potter fan, like everyone else.
There's loads of excellent stuff so read the entire (long!) interview at the link below!

What an awesome and hilarious interview! I read the ENTIRE thing! Everyone with the time really should read it because it's fantastic. Some of the stuff I loved though is probably not allowed in SS standards.....Here's some of my "points" that are:
Dan states that he's only had two serious girlfriends recently, or over the years, not sure. (He does say though that he enjoys all the female ummmm..devotion he gets everywhere he sticks his famous head. )
JKR is coming to see Equus! and it was Kenneth Branagh, in COS, that first encouraged Dan to do the play and actually set up some workshops to help him.(2005 I think....)
He also states that being tutored one on one saved him from alot of bad grades because he really doesn't do well in school, and that his teacher is "a great inspiration for him"( I totally agree because i'm homeschooled lol)
That's just some of them! read the entire thing!

starlightangel 02-11-2007 11:45 AM

I suppose Dumbledore was complaining about the lack of lemon sherberts in heaven?

Blackened 02-11-2007 11:52 AM

I just finished reading the entire interview, and yes, it definitely is worth the read. ^_^

-ponders the DD thing-

Kazters 02-11-2007 12:11 PM

it could be his portrait she is was having issues with

hpluvr037 02-11-2007 12:15 PM

Could DD be back in portrait form? He won't be a ghost because he wasn't afraid of death. Hm...

Why does he want to play a death so much? I would've thought he'd want his character to live. Guess not!

nymphadorarules 02-11-2007 12:39 PM

what's wrong with him??? why does he want to die so bad......sigh but lets face facts...Harry has to die I guess sigh.....DD will be back as a potrait only so we should not get our hopes too high...

Mrs Felton 02-11-2007 12:51 PM

Wazzup with him?! Why is he using "I" :ron2: He should be referring to the dying character "Harry"... or does he really mean that he thinks "he" himself (Dan) will die? Oh well, I guess he's having an identity crisis now and thinks he and his character is one and the same! LOL But a lot of kiddies are already making this mistake and he's just adding insult to injury *shrug*

And why is Dan giving out spoilers?! When I started talking about it to my friend, she suddenly covered her ears and loudly sang out "la, la, la..." Sometimes he just really talks too much...

Die Harry Die!!!

:P

padfoot_88 02-11-2007 04:08 PM

That was an excellent interview! I love that he's such a grounded and down-to-earth guy. I had to laugh a few times with some of his comments, especially when it came to his relationships. "I'm 17! I don't care! It's great!"

I think Dan has the right thought in his mind. I think the same thing. I DONT want that but I think that will happen.
