I was unfortunately a little late and it was already closed. Oh well, try again tomorrow. |
It seems like everyone registered but me :'( I'm insanely jealous of all of you. I was too late. Better luck tomorrow :) |

I am disappoint. lol. I didn't even get a chance to see the clue when I found out registration was over. Hopefully tomorrow I will have a better chance. |
Yay! I got a place :) |
NoxWolfsbane30, yo. :lmao: But... guh. I really want my welcome letter! What it sounds like they're saying is that although you still have your username and a got through your validation email, you still may not get early access. But oh well. This is all a bit insane. :xd: |
For those who intend to try in the coming days, I recommend not using a Yahoo e-mail address when they ask you for one. I filled everything out within five minutes of the clue being released and I've yet to get the first e-mail, and I know many, many other Yahoo users are waiting for theirs, too. |
So after reading all posts in here, I'm really confused... When you validate your account, does that mean that you're one of 1,000,000 who got the early entry or you must fit into a million who'll respond to a welcome letter first? Pottermore website says this: "Once I’ve clicked on the link in my registration validation email, will I be able to access Pottermore? We will not be enabling early access to the site straight away. Once The Magical Quill challenge is over we will begin to send Beta registrants Welcome emails as and when they will be able to have full access to the site. We won’t be able to let everyone into the Beta site at the same time, so you may have to wait a number of weeks for your Welcome email to arrive. However, if you have been successful in registering during The Magical Quill challenge, we can confirm you will gain access ahead of the site opening to all in October, so please be patient!" but a lot of people keep saying how they wish to make it to that one million. I just hope that since we caught that damn quill, registered and waited hours for our email, we're automatically granted for that early entry :). |

@elisX - Most people haven't read that part of the pottermore blog. Yes, if you registered this morning, you ARE one of the 1,000,000. If you search the question "Once I’ve clicked on the link in my registration validation email, will I be able to access Pottermore?" and you will find the Pottermore help page that says this. So congrats to all of you who made it this morning...you ARE one of the 1,000,000 (as long as you keep your eye out for the e-mail in the next few weeks allowing you to activate your account...which you must do within 48 hours of receipt)! To the rest of us....Good Luck! Erin |
"A big note: the welcome letters can come to fans anytime after the Magical Quill challenge, starting August 7 to September 30, 2011, and the first million to respond to those welcome emails will be the first to test the beta site. If you receive the welcome email after the first million have been chosen, you will have to wait until October 2011, the official opening of Pottermore.com, to gain access. More on that can be read here, as released to SnitchSeeker by the Pottermore team" I dont believe this is necessarily true ... after entering my username and password I recieved this message from pottermore "Congratulations! You’ve successfully validated your early access Pottermore account. You will be one of the lucky few to shape the experience before the site opens to all in October. You may have to wait a few weeks for your Welcome email to arrive as we can’t let everyone into the Beta site at the same time. We look forward to seeing you." Keyword in there is you may have to wait a few weeks ... i looked further into when the welcome letters would be sent and after looking through the questions and answers on pottermore i read THIS.. "The Magical Quill early entry period runs from 31 July 2011 to 30 September 2011. During this time, you will receive a Welcome email notifying you that your account has been enabled for access to Pottermore. If you did not register during The Magical Quill period, you will be able to register after the Magical Quill promotion has closed for entry in October 2011, when the site will be open to all. Keep checking Pottermore to find out when registration is open to all." Notice the bold it says nothing about getting your welcome emails after the pottermores search for the magical quill challenge is over BUT this is only my theory where did you read that i was looking everywhere for it found this on pottermore Can I enter Pottermore as soon as I've registered? Hide "A limited number of people will be granted early entry to Pottermore, to help us add final touches before it is open to all in October 2011. Once you validate your registration (via the email you receive after submitting your details), you will receive a Welcome email between 31 July and 30 September letting you know that your account has been enabled for entry." |
Can't wait to register and go to Hogwarts!!! See you there :D :woot: |
It took 8 hours for the email to show up in my yahoo account, so don't panic if yours does not show up right away. Be patient and it will come. I am officially GoldWitch202!!! |

i was still sleeping when the contest for today closed! ahahah but that's cause I went to bed at like 2:30am =( oh well guess I'll have to try tonight. |
Officially a witch :loved: Registered and validated the account :woot: Now waiting for the welcome letter :D Good luck everyone! |
runepatronus121 :woot: as I understand it between august 7 to september 30 out of the 1 million successfully registered and validated their email during the Quill Challenge, not all of them will enter the site at the same time but the site will gradually be increasing the number of people who have access to the site... for example 100k people this week and next week 200k people will join them... is that right? |
Leave it to Jo to come up with something this exciting! I wish I had been able to be online today before now! |
It took about 20+ minutes for my email to arrive yesterday, validated it immediately and only today got told: "Congratulations! You’ve successfully validated your early access Pottermore account. You will be one of the lucky few to shape the experience before the site opens to all in October. You may have to wait a few weeks for your Welcome email to arrive as we can’t let everyone into the Beta site at the same time. We look forward to seeing you." So I expect a bit of a wait for the beta email. I'm FangWormwood212, by the way! |
I am just quietly sitting here in my corner of the woods hoping I get in ;) Thanks and good luck to you too :) Quote:
