Oh my, if only I was 15yrs younger lol., JK...not really! Gorgeous & a goofball as always! |
Wow, he looks handsome. :) And I'm so glad I can read the whole interview now! :D Thanks! |
Is he trying to sort of be half-Spock in that last shot? |
Dan looks really good, a very handsome guy. |
mmm.... pretty good interview. not quite stepping on toes as the others. good to know he is aware that cigarettes ARE bad. now if he could quit them cold turkey like he did drinkin.... except for the comment on actors- which seems a bit hypocritical considering he is one. and that one on what he doesn't like about america (the national anthem, the patriotism) which seems pretty risky to offend... I mean I kind of understand him being miffed about American bonbastic celebration off their independence, considering he IS british... but still no reason, if he does thinks as such and is not the reporter assuming things, to look down on america for their anthem and their patriotism... I mean All teams sing their national anthems at the world cup- i think even england. and dont the english still do the "Save the queen!" speech? i dont know, while he has been more than open about a lot of things that bother him, it seems.... extreme and unlike him that he would criticize something so close to the hearts of Many of the people he lived with for the past year. |

he says he doesn't like pretentious people but then a lot of his comments come across like that. one would think after the huge mess that was the interview about him not keeping in touch all the time with rupert, which he did apologized, explained himself- he would think twice before talking... *sights* I just can't think of a single reason why he would say what he says here, and hoping he sees sense and explains himself soon. |
It's a very British thing to look down upon America and their patriotism. We're not the most patriotic nation in the world. I don't think his comments were offensive at all, but then again I'm not American. |
I like Dan, but he kind of bothers me in print interviews...I feel like he seems a bit pretentious. And then he calls Americans pretentious. That just seems a bit hypocrotical to me. I'm sure these aren't exact quotes, and if he said them on camera, it would probably sound different. But why shouldn't Americans be proud of their country? They can't stop singing the national anthem at football games just because he's British. I reslly dislike his print interviews lately... |
Nice pictures. |

I dont think it's right for one nation to judge the other as a whole, or something that makes them proud, because things are differents over there. after all different countries, same planet. and aren't the US and the UK allies? I mean, I would think patriotism or not, Some people in England are proud to be where the Olympics are going to play out, so it wouldnt be fair they get picked on over that? and while yes The US has a number of things that are not so good, (including the Few instances i seen of american rubbing off their independence on people's faces) they do have a lot of things to be proud off- the fact they *mostly* overcame their racism to the point of having a black president, their colleges, their international aid services.... so why Can't they feel proud of their country? I'm sure there must be Something in England english people are proud off, even if it's not loyalty to their monarch or prime minister (if that's the case- I seen both ways) I dont know, I'm not american either, nor british, but i visited both countries plenty enough (5 year on england, 8 on the US) to find no need for competition at all, as both have good and bad thing. |
It is fine to discuss Dan's comments but take care not to criticize other members for giving their opinions of Dan's comments. Such posts will be removed and/or receive a warning. |

I really like how the light plays across that first picture! So artistic! |
I do not think his interview was offensive - I mean coming from England and going to New York, they are very different cultures, I do not think he is making fun of anything just commenting on the differences love the pics! he is so good looking! love his intervews! |
I'm still shocked with the drinking thing, but amazed at the brains this bloke has. Go, Dan! |
Everyone has their opinions but I loved the pics of Dan the most! |
Looks amazing:) and I didn't read the full interview I don't think I should either....x |
He is always dashing in his photos! |
I'm American, and I'm even irritated by our Patriotism sometimes. I think it's important to keep in mind that things can be taken out of context, or exaggerated when you're reading them as described by someone else, like in a print interview such as this. Dan has said wonderful things about America in the past. He's not perfect, and has no responsibility to praise any thing/person/country as being perfect either. |
wow reading that interview really opened my eyes more of daniel radcliffe. i realized he has made many mistakes as a teenager. i mean he lost his virginity at 16, so what? it doesn't make him a bad person. His longest relationship is 3 years. He met the love of his life and i couldn't be happier for him :D. I wish i could hear him curse when he does an interview. It must be interesting XD |
After reading that interview i have been left with a loss of words. I really don't know what to say about it. I'm left with the feeling of shock and slight discomfort although at the same time i feel a sense of peace. I know that doesn't make any sense but this interview is very raw so to speak, like i can feel him through the words. I don't know, its a stupid thing to say but yeah. :) |
