Naomi Watts never approached to play Narcissa Malfoy, would still like Potter role
 

You may remember a while back there were casting rumours stating that Naomi Watts would play Narcissa Malfoy in Half-Blood Prince. Naomi has declared that she was never approached but would like to play a part in the final films.

MTV have suggested her as the witch Hermione changes into to infiltrate the Ministry of Magic or Alecto Carrow. What do you guys think?

Although she would have been perfect for 'Cissy', I would love to see her in one of the DH films!

^ I totally agree. Since so much of the cast is already set, that might be a good role for her to play. But wouldn't she still have Hermione's voice since it was polyjuice potion? I'm never sure how that works, but it sounded in the CoS film that when Ron and Harry took the potion that their bodies changed, but their voices did not.

Either way you look at it, it doesn't really matter who plays any of the parts, because if that person doesn't fit well or anything, they would keep searching, and if they've decided on someone, then that person is the obvious choice for the part...and I think that they have done an amazing job so far...I just hate that it's soon going to all come to an end, there's gonna be such a void in my fantasy world now lol

Ok, MTV clearly knows nothing about HP if they suggested that Naomi Watts play Mafalda Hopkirk or Alecto Carrow. It's ludicrous. Unless Naomi wears a whole lot of makeup.

That'd be interesting, but Mafalda Hopkirk, the witch Hermione disguises as, is an older woman. If Naomi Watts was to be cast as such, she'd have to be aged a lot. Admittedly, now that they're making two films for the final one, it is more likely that they'll keep the Polyjuice Potion aspect.

I think she would have been amazing as Narcissa. Narcissa is supposed to be blonde anyway. But I think Alecto would be a better choice than the witch Hermione turns into.

I confess I would have liked to see her play Narcissa. But either way, it would be cool for her to be a part of the HP movies.

I remember that Narcissa rumor. I never saw her as Cissy, she was too sweet looking and her features were very soft. But she's a great actress and I'm sure she could have done a great job, if she were approached. Heh.

this is kinda out there, but what if she played Hermione 19 years later?! She is beautiful as is Emma Watson, and there hasn't been any insight as to whether or not they will cast people to play them older or just age the original cast?! It is a thought.

She has the looks for Narcissa but definitely not the personality, she's too damned nice (I could play Narcissa really well lol). As for the Ministry employee, she's too young and if she's too nice for Narcissa then there's no way I could see her as Alecto Carrow.

In my mind Alecto Carrow is really ugly, so i think she is too pretty to play her but i guess they do wonders with make up these days...

They'd do that in ADR after filming was completed - Additional Dialogue Recording. It has to be done in case the microphones haven't picked up lines because of a noisy set, but can also be used in those instances too.

Oh yes, she was already cast for Order of the Phoenix. Assuming they'd keep the same woman. Jessica Hynes nee Stevenson.

She will be. Many of the cast don't have the same colour hair as their characters.

I kind of hope they leave out the epilogue. I don't think it'd work as well to end the series with completely different actors. So it's that or prosthetics, in my mind.

Mm, no, I cant see her as one of the Malfoys. She isn't that great of an actress in my eyes. She may have the right look to play Narcissa but I just cant see her do her justice.

She would have been my choice for Narcissa. I guess all that's left for her is the witch that Hermione changes into. I can't see her playing Alecto, as I visualize Alecto as a fat little tart. Naomi is way too pretty for that role.

Well we definatly need a Narcissa Malfoy in the half blood prince to spice things up a little in the movie. In the book she slammed Harry so its like another Malfoy is on the loose to tell of Harry its really cool!
