Miranda Richardson loved playing Rita (and we loved her!)

In a recent interview, Miranda Richardson (a.k.a. Rita Skeeter) discussed how she approached her role in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

She loved playing the tabloid journalist Rita Skeeter in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. She combined elements of the Vivienne Westwood of yesteryear with "someone like Liz Smith", gossip columnist for the New York Post. "Kids are very generous. I got some really sweet letters saying: 'You were exactly how I thought you should be', so I was very relieved about that," she says.

Richardson also admitted that when she was a teenager she had a crush on Richard Harris, who played Albus Dumbledore in the first two films.

I thought she was perfect as Rita Skeeter! I'm glad she enjoyed playing her; it seems like a fun role to play.

Oh that's funny. Too bad she couldn't work with him on the Harry Potter film.

Why wouldn't we be seeing more of her? Rita is in OotP. It's not as big of a part as in Goblet, but she is there. Oh I hope they don't cut the interview in the Quibbler.... :mad: :no: Miranda Richardson was amazing as Rita though....

She was a teensy bit different from my imagined Skeeter but she played a perfect Rita in Goblet of Fire. She was simpyl marvellous. Job well done Miranda. :glomp: We all love ya.

As for the crush on Richard - :rotfl:. *dies* I could never have imagined that, and I'd never have believed it either if she hadn't said it herself.

Conclusion: Miranda you rock. You're an awesome Rita Skeeter and we all love just have to love Skeeter's Sneaky Scoops. ;)

Unfortunately, Rita Skeeter will not be making an appearance in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
