Jason Isaacs talks Lucius Malfoy and OotP

In a recent interview with TV Guide, Jason Isaacs talks a bit about his role as Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter films, including experiences on the 'Chamber of Secrets' set, plans for 'Order of the Phoenix' filming and the future for his character in book 7.

Isaacs: I'm shooting [State Within in Canada] all of next month, and then I go home, unpack, get the mothballs off the wig, stick it on and start waving my wand about.

[Laughs] On the first day of the first one I did, the first shot I had to do was storming out of a room, leaving the lovely Richard Harris (the original Dumbledore) and Daniel [Radcliffe, Harry]. [Director] Chris Columbus shouted, "OK, and then shut the door on your way out." I said, "Do I have to shut the door? I don't know what the rules are, but can I just wave my hand and the door shuts by magic?" Chris paused for a second and said, "Sure. If you like." That's when I knew I was going to have a great ride.

Isaacs: Well, I know that I go to prison for No. 6 [Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince], so I suspect that I have time to build up another deep well of bitterness that hopefully will burst out in No. 7.

WOW! First to post! Jason Isaac is always so enthusiastic when he talks about Lucius, I am particularly pleased to hear he wants to carry on Lucius so much that Lucius breaks out. I liked hearing how he makes the door close with a wave of his hand, never noticed that before!

Wow! He seems like such a cool guy! I love how he is so enthusiastic about the part and sticking around for the end! He plays Lucius sooo well! Can't wait to see him in OOTP!!!

Great article. I am planning on watching the TV show. I love to hate him in his Patroits role. He was so vile. Even worst that Lucius.

I love the character Lucious. He's soo him mean. I can't wait 2 c him in the 5th 1!!

He was beyond evil in The Patriot, but he was great in that film. I think I read somewhere that it was actually because of his evil-personified turn in this movie that got the WB folks convinced he could be Lucius Malfoy.

It's great that he is always so enthusiastic about Potter. He probably enjoys doing his role more than a lot of the people in th cast! Then again wouldn't we all like to be evil for a day...

He's such a great actor! I couldn't ask for a better Lucicus! He's really funny, and I bet really nice! Can't wait to see him in Order of the Pheonix
