Jamie Campbell Bower to film more Grindelwald scenes for Deathly Hallows
 

At Friday's press conference for New Moon, actor Jamie Campbell Bower compared the Twilight series to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, in which he plays a young Gellert Grindelwald. Jamie also noted that he had filmed for a week earlier this year and still has further scenes to shoot before production ends next April. Photos of Jamie at the New Moon Hot Topic event in Los Angeles yesterday were also released, and can be seen here.

er...is that a good that Potter is like a "machine" where you go in and do your thing and then leave? Potter sounds very bland when Jamie explains it lol. Haha HP wayyyy more exciting in its own right than the way Jamie says it. He really doesnt get it i dont think.

And yay!!! There are more Grindelwald scenes in the film...maybe they'll use it for more back story about the Hallows...excited for DH!

Jamies total involvement with HP is not that big, in terms of time spent on the film. His character is pretty important, and I hope he does the role justice.
It does sound like he's saying Potter is bland and not very exciting, but I think if he had been a character that would have involved him in the Potter films more, he may feel different.
I think it's funny that he says Twilight, cinematically, is young, and there's still a lot of growth for it, but New Moon comes out in a couple of weeks and they're already almost done with Eclipse. The movies are coming out so fast. There's not a lot of room for growth when the book series doesn't give much to work with, IMO.

i agree with the soundtracks. the Twilight soundtracks have both been very, VERY good while the HP soundtracks could really pick it up a bit. people might actually want to buy them...

I agree. He makes Potter sound bland. Or I feel like he doesn't even care about it. Well of course he does but it just sounds like it's just another thing he's got to do. And I still haven't forgotten his comment about how he thinks HP is more for the younger audience....

As for Twilight, haven't they already wrapped up Eclipse? It's all so fast. Not to compare the two, but I am so glad that Harry Potter is not like that at all. I love how we have/had so much time in between the films (because of course the series wasn't even completed yet for most of the movies). Also, Eclipse is coming out in June right? WOW. They're moving quickly. (Although I don't care anyway. The quicker it's over the better!)

Anyway, I do hope he plays Grindelwald well.

I just can't wait for DH!!! I hope he gives Grindelwald the justice he deserves!!! And I would hope it would be a machine after all this time, but at the same time, Twilight only has one more movie to make, how much more growth is there?! The third one just wrapped, so good luck with that!

All i know that twilight sux and harry potter rules... u can never compare harry potter to anything.. maybe lord of the rings lol... but never Twilight.... and plus rob pattinson is nottt sexy... gosh ;)

To be fair, he's promoting Twilight. He has to flatter the production he's talking about. I get what he's saying; the Harry Potter cast and crew are one big family and, as someone who's only around for a very short time, it must be hard to break into that.

I don't really like what he sad. The Twilight saga is a machine too. They have filmed 3 films in one year and a half and they're not as good as the Harry Potter's films!

I can understand why he sees Potter as a machine, I mean its the same cast and crew that have worked together for years! They know what what people want and how much money it's all going to make, so I guess its quite different from Twilight. It's had time to evolve more gradually over a long period of time, unlike Twilight which has suddenly become a massive phenomenon (sp? :D).

Looking forward to seeing Jamie in both DH and New Moon ;)

yea..it anoys me how the Potter films are "machines" the books were written so lovingly, and all..J.K. Rowling is so amazing! the movies r..yea..such blockbusters! and twilight is actually even more, with the whole "americanness" the soundtrack is cool, but, harry potters is all original songs.. and Dan, Rupert and Emma all started out fresh and younge, and in twilight, the main charactors actors were already pretty famouse before..so..yes..i dont know exactly what im saying..but..i just had to say that..

I much prefer the HP movies to Twilight, though only one Twilight movie is out at this point, but the bashing is pointless compared to the money both franchises rake in....HP is a money making machine and Twilight was a super surprise phenomenon...no amount of cursing Twilight will change that.

Plus I think it is very nice that someone from GOF went on to a substantial roles.

Hmmm... I don't really know what to think of Jamie. He really doesn't seem that excited about filming HP, which is kind of... upsetting to me. And he's come from Twilight. *Grrr* Well, I hope he does Grindelwald justice in DH!

I suppose that can be it but it just seems that whenever he talks about Twilight & HP together, he puts HP down in some way, whether its intentional or not. I mean Robert Pattinson was in HP and as far as im concerned, he has never stated anything about HP the way Jamie has...maybe its just my opinion but Rob seemed a bit more appreciative of HP and he came during the production of the 4th film so it wasnt like he was there from the beginning. Maybe Jamie just has a bad choice of vocabulary haha and that's why is always seems to negative. I have faith in Jamie's acting skills after seeing Sweeney Todd as i've mentioned here many times so Im not upset he was cast but I just wish he'd be a bit more postive towards the series...or maybe he's still bitter from not being cast as 16 year-old Voldemort lol jk...I know he'll do great! =)

OMG, what does he know about HP?? Just because he will be in it for 5 min doesn't make him an authority on HP.

Harry Potter stand alone! Twilight will NEVER compare no matter how much money they "rake in"!

In other words, Harry Potter is more organized. It should be after 10 years. But I still think they're learning as well. Every film is different and they always try new things. There are always new actors coming in who have to form connections and all that stuff. So Harry Potter is a bit of both. It's a well-oiled machine, but they're always looking for new ways to improve the films and to please us fans. :D

He's certainly an interesting character. He seems a little ungrateful though. I don't think he understands how big of an honor and how it can make or break a person's career to be in HP. I'm not sure that I like him now because, if he's making out the Twilight movies to be more worthwhile than HP, he's sadly mistaken. There is no doubt in my mind that Twilight is just a fad while HP is more timeless. Ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous, Jamie Campbell Bower.

Honestly, I think fans expect too much of someone who is a jobbing actor, and has landed a few-minute role in a huge franchise. Of course it would seem uber special to us but I can see how that may not be the case for him. I don't see anything particularly wrong in that.

I think too many people read into interviews too much. He's a great young actor and I loved him in Sweeney Todd. So, im sure I'll love him in both New Moon and Deathly Hallows, respectively.

I do wish the Harry Potter soundtracks were a bit more exciting. Twilight definitely trumps them there. (I had "Tears Don't Fall" by Bullet For My Valentine playing in my head the whole time I watched HBP.)
