J.K. Rowling reveals Sirius Black's birthday, oldest so far of Marauders
 

J.K. Rowling revealed the birthday of a well-beloved character, one Sirius Black, as a promise to all the fans who would take her side in supporting the Scottish Rugby team during Saturday's match against Samoa.

Scotland won the game, and the Harry Potter author announced that Sirius's birthday was November 3, 1959.

This makes Sirius the eldest so far of the Marauder-era characters, and the only one born in 1959. Severus Snape was born January 9, 1960; Lily Evans on January 30, 1960; Remus Lupin March 10, 1960; and James Potter born on March 27, 1960. Rowling has yet to reveal the birthday of Peter Pettigrew.

For those Harry Potter fans who have taken note, Rowling abides by astrological signs heavily when choosing birthdays for her characters (save Harry). Sirius Black, born in early November, was a Scorpio.

Awwww! Somehow, I always thought of him or James as the oldest ^_^
