Harry Potter film series to receive CinemaCon Hall of Fame award
 

The Harry Potter film franchise will be receiving the CinemaCon Hall of Fame award at the end of this month for its "rare and exceptional achievements in the motion picture theater industry," it has been announced. Producer David Heyman will be in Las Vegas for the CinemaCon Big Screen Achievement Awards on March 31, 2011 to pick up the award on behalf of everyone involved in the series.

Mitch Neuhauser, managing director of CinemaCon, had this to say on the recognition:

I think it's so amazing how many awards the Harry Potter franchise seems to be getting now. The movies are so fantastic they definitely deserve all the praise they're getting :)

I'm delighted to see taht the series receives this many awards. Now only one thing is missing and that is an OSCAR. If the final movie doesn't get at least one than there is no justice in the world.... Congrats and a big thanks to everyone who contributed in the making of this fantastic franchise. :)

This made me tear up. It's been an amazing journey, there's nothing like HP and there won't be anything like this for a very long time. If ever. It's been a huge thing for the film industry but also for us. The way we've been growing up with HP through all these years is amazing. We've been so lucky to have the same cast all the way and that's what makes this franchise so unique.

I will miss the past years hugely. Long live Harry Potter!
