This movie was amazing! The Ron/Hermione relationship was done beautifully and I thought the kiss was really cute :). I loved when Ron went charging after Goyle in the Room of Requirement screaming "That's my girlfriend you just attacked!" or something like that. Mcgonagall was amazing! Harry's death and King's Cross were just as I had pictured them. One thing I didn't like was how Bellatrix, Nagini, and Voldemort exploded after they were killed. It made the whole thing seem less real. The only part I cried was when Harry walks into the Great Hall during a break in the battle and sees that Fred, Lupin, Tonks and countless others had died. The part where Fenrir is attacking Lavender gave me chills. I will have to see it again to be sure but I think this is the best film in the series!

All I can say is that I thought it was absolutely amazing!! :) By far the best film in the series, I really loved the drama and battles and there was even some really good comic moments in it too. The Prince's Tale really had me emotional, where we see the true side of Snape and his love for Lily, I thought Alan Rickman was superb! :D It is without a doubt a great film and I really want to go and see it again, I can't wait for the dvd to come out! :lol: Harry Potter will always have a place in our hearts <3 :heart2:

I can't believe I still haven't seen this film!!

If I didn't know the book almost by heart, I'd say pretty good. As I know, I'm a bit disappointed, as usual with Yates's work and adaptation. He has so little respect for Harry, and invents so many unnecesary things. What's with Snape's tears? Since when pensieve memories come in the tears? Why so little dialogue in the epilogue? What's with the entire Helena Ravenclaw scene? How did Harry learn about Teddy? The stone falls when Harry's hit by the killing course, not the moment he talks to the Marauders.

Technically, yes, very good. Story-wise...

Now for what I thought....

My personal opinion was that the movie was amazing. The directors and actors did an amazing job creating what I would say is the best movie.


And the whole rest of the movie I loved those were just the top five I thought of off the top of my head.

It was something along the lines of, "I've got the hots for her. I figured it was about time I told her since we'll probably both be dead by morning." :D

I have to see it twice, because the first time my brain was so numb from the exhilaration, but the second time I was able to soak it in and fully enjoy it. I agree with all the above comments. It is certainly a high note to end the series. All actors are at the top of their performances, especially Radcliffe, who nailed almost every critical scene of Harry.
- Helena humored me as a convincing Hermione
- The dragon escape was nicely done
- I love the cello playing in the background when they siege the castle
- More chemistry b/w Harry and Ginny in this film. Bonnie finally is a convincing Ginny
- I love the scene when Pansy asked to seize Harry, both Ginny and Cho stood in front of him.
- Mathew did full justice to Neville
-I was succumbed to tears in the Prince’s Tale. It is the most heart-wrenching romance I’ve ever seen since Titanic.
- The final duel b/w Voldmort and Harry was deviated from the book but equally compelling
- Hermione's emotional farewell to Harry. Love it!
- The duel b/w Mrs. Weasley and Belletrix (well, it slightly confused me too. She used a nonverbal curse. Is it Reducto, b/c Belletrix was literally exploded?)
- Malfoy was called to the death eaters’ side when Harry died and Voldmort asked the students to choose side. Tom is the perfect Malfoy.
- The epilogue is very sweet. Dan is great as a father. Bonnie played a very loving wife. Emma is a great mother. I love the little scene where she covered her mouth in excitement and happiness when she saw a chocolate frog jumped to the window. Just like the first movie. It's very quick and very nostalgic.
Things slightly disappointing:
-the Ron/Hermione kiss, sweet but the angle was wrong again.
- Neville was not bound to the ground in the burning sorting hat before he beheaded the snake. I thought it would be more dramatic and heroic if they had followed the book.
- Harry’s speech that explains to Voldmort who is the true master of death in front of the Hogwarts.
- Olivander’s explanation of the deathly hallows to Harry is an unnecessary alteration b/c Luna’s father has done its justice in the last film.
Overall, the movie was as good as I expected it. Haven't seen it in 3D. I guess I probably cannot resist watching it again :)

Oh and something I must say.
Harry and Ginnys kiss was not at all what I expected. It was short small and I felt like it shpuld have been done differently. I was very disappointed by that.

But, Ron and Hermiones kiss was perfect except for the fact that you could pretty much only see Rons head. At least it was better than Harry and Ginnys and it worked well in the chamber of secrets rather than in front of Harry.

And finally the killing of Nagini was good. I liked how Ron and Hermione were going after it with basilisk fangs and when its about to bite them Neville saves the day. Neville is a savior.

:snape2:I just got home, and I just had to log in and discuss how amazing the movie was!

It exceeded my expectations.

-Snape steals the show hands down. Alan Rickman is Snape and portrays him in a way that is touching. His death was pretty violent, and they what he said when he was dying made me cry.

-The trio was amazing, and I loved how their friendship has blossomed over the years.
-Neville was great, and was a true Gryffindor.
-The kiss was great. I don’t understand why people are up in arms. On here I expected to only see the back of Ron’s head. Instead it’s like you’re standing in front of them and he grabs her into his arms. Yes, you don’t see their lips, but it was great! (Later he calls her his girlfriend and I melted)

I never liked Bonnie Wright and Daniel Radcliffe’s chemistry. There kiss wasn’t what I expected.

The resurrection stone scene was heartbreaking.

During the limbo scene, I did think I saw Peter Jackson cue the Enya music. Seriously Dumbledore or should I saw the white wizard was wearing Elf robes. DID HE GO TO THE GREY HAVENS????

I know I am skipping around, but frankly my mind is scrambling.

The epilogue was great, though Ron’s belly was disturbing. (I love RON.)

There were funny parts, and I thought they were portrayed well and did not deter from the tone of the film.

There were some parts that I wished would have been added or deleted, but overall it was amazing.

Yes, that was Lavender.

I cried through almost half of the movie, it really exceeded my expectations. I didn't even mind the changes scenes as much as I thought I would have, but Harry's speech in the great hall should have stayed in the great hall. This way, it was an epic finale...but no one was even there to see it.

Also, I don't understand why Voldemort and Bellatrix just disintegrated. Ok, Voldemort I can understand, but Bellatrix was just a normal human being - a crazy one, but a human nonetheless.

As for Snape's memories in his tears...not really a fan of that idea, but the death scene overall was incredibly emotional and well done.

The rest of the movie...absolutely fantastic.

I have never been more entertained by a movie in my life. I cried throughout the last 30-40 minutes, and I don't cry during movies. Can't wait to see it Saturday night in IMAX. My favorite scene was easily the Snape/Penseive scene. That could have easily been done poorly on film, but it managed to be even more powerful in the book. I'll have more in depth thoughts after I see it again. I wished Hermione had more screen time, but that's mainly because I have a crush on her.


I think the main reason that Hermione ended up with Ron, and Harry with Ginny, was because Rowling wanted to marry them both into the Weasleys. I would have preferred Harry to go with Hermione, but that does have a lot to do with me placing myself in Harry's shoes when reading/watching and having a crush on Emma/Hermione. I never felt there was any chemistry beyond physically attraction between Harry and Ginny.

I loved it. Really, really loved it. I felt they did the book justice and concluded the series beautifully.

Dunno, really. Maybe Bellatrix was so evil that she wasn't a normal human being any more? Maybe she was taking after her master and doing some nasty experiments?

Well, anyway.

One small thing I liked was when Neville woke up and there were two wizards doing the spell link thing with two Avada Kedavras. I found that better than everyone else who was like, "Oh, who gives a crap that I might die, let's cast magical blue spells that turn red when they meet AK."

Also, well, the canon sort of flew out the window when everyone started blocking Avada like they hadn't a care in the world.

Obviously it didn't live up to the standards as a die hard HP book fan just like the other movies. I thought they should have kept Chris Columbus as director as he stayed true to the books he directed the most. I'm gonna be honest, when I read the book at the end I did tear up when he was walking towards his death each time I read it. I'm not sure if it was because I knew what was gonna happen during the movie or if it was just the setting because I didn't even tear up when I saw it. As a movie it was good, but as a fan who likes to stay true to the book it wasn't too good. Like if someone who never read the books saw it they probably enjoyed it, but if someone like me who grew up on the books and read and re-read them they wouldn't meet the bar set so high.

Indeed. Ive never read them so the movies come off fullfilling to me as a fan. Initially i thought i would go back and read them but now im not so sure i want too as it would probably ruin my experience with the films.

Oh, er, I just rewatched the film, and it seems Molly casts some sort of petrification spell at Bellatrix, making her turn all grey and statue like, and then she casts another spell and Bella explodes.

Sort of like she'd turned her to ice and then blown her apart.

Most of my friends have only seen the movies without reading the books. I would recommend reading them to anyone even someone who doesn't like to read. For me it was just a great experience growing up and having a world to escape to. J.K. explains it so vividly that you feel that you are a part of the world and it's just amazing.

Reading the books greatly enhances the experience of watching the movies because you become so much more attached to the world of Harry Potter and the characters through the books, then you could possibly become through the movies.

I loved this movie! It was definitely the best one. I think I was sobbing for at least half of it. It was so cool, because it was my first midnight premiere, and the entire theater was really into it. Everyone cheered, cried, laughed at the exact same time. It was really cool.

I definitely cried at the part where Fed and George were just standing on a balcony or something like that, and they were kind of just enjoying each other's company. That was the last time they saw each other, I think. It was REALLY sad when Fred died, but I think it would have even been better if they'd actually shown his death the way it was in the book, how he was laughing when it hit him. It would have been more dramatic. Lupin and Tonks was perfect though. And Snape!! I still cry every time I remember the part where he was holding Lily and crying...

On to the happy parts. I liked the Ron and Hermione kiss in the movie better than it was in the book, actually, because they had more privacy, you know.

Oh, and Neville. Neville was great!! I liked how he was completely awesome, but at the same time you were reminded of the bumbling Neville Longbottom that we all know and love. The effects were SO cool when he killed Nagini.

I think my crowd cheered the loudest when Mrs. Weasley yelled at Bellatrix. I think that was the one line everybody was waiting for. It was great.

I think, though, that for the King's Cross scene right after Harry died, it would have made more sense if they'd explained why he didn't have his glasses or hi scar. As it was, it sort of just seemed like they'd forgotten he needed them to be Harry.

I also just wanted to point out how much I LOVED Profesor McGonagall in this film. She had some great lines.

All in all though, I thought it was a wonderful movie. Definitely the best. I loved it. I'm also very sad when I think about it, because it really is all over. Except for re-watching them again and again and again...
