Exclusive: Half-Blood Prince a "romantic comedy" says Watson
 

Here are a couple of brief interviews SnitchSeeker shot with Emma Watson and Chris Rankin at the Los Angeles premiere for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in which Emma speaks a bit about Half-Blood Prince and Chris incorrectly predicts the fate of his character Percy in the final book.

Yates said the romantic comedy thing too. I recently re-read HBP & I couldn't agree more.

:lol: I'm glad Percy didn't die. That would've been far too obvious.

Aww....he thought he was going to die. No he couldn't have died it would have been out of place, and un needed. No one loved him all that much, he wasn't as main of a character towards the end. Well, until he redeems himself of course.

This is from the L.A. OotP premiere, held at the beginning of July.

Percy dying. I thought that too. But, he wasn't such an important character. It would been sad if he died though.

at first i didn't want to to be a romantic comedy, but then i thought that it would make a better tearjerker... unlike SOME movie that was resently the latest installment of a major movie franchise...... not naming any names here..

I don't think Percy should have died. Or Fred. Or Mad Eye. Or Hedwig. But Hagrid didn't die, so I'm a mostly happy camper. ^^

HBP can be a dark romantic comedy if thats even possible. Cause the H/R & H/G romance will be there but the cave scene alone will make people forget that the movie is a comedy.

I'm quite fond with the H/HR happenings in HBP but i don't know about H/G cause i'm not much into that ship. But i think what emma's trying to say is only between Hermione and Ron's Relationship

i always though HBP was like the romantic comidy full of mistery and harry potter, thats why i loved it so much! i mean, romatic-comidy, with mystery AND HARRY POTTER...thats like all of my favorit stuff put together...

well,that's kinda true!It was partly a comedy.Even my Mom luffd those parts abt Ron n Hermy!But,the last part sort of overshadows all that.I think JKR's writing in HBP was da best!

Yes,I agree. I was actually hoping it to be even darker! But It will be a bit of both because Dumbledore's death will be neither romantic or comedy haha. I'd hope not!:albus3:

okay so i do not see this whole romantic comedy thing at all. makes no sense, HBP is not really comedic, i guess yes its funny but no moreso than the other books. but okay i can see where this is coming from if its talking about the comedy in the romance? oiiii now i'm confused.

I´ve readed the 6th book the half lood prince and Ithink that Snape is a very important part in Howargs, He must do the hardest work, por example, He must kill to Dumbuldore.
