| | |  Deathly Hallows: Part I semifinalist for 2010 Academy Awards in Visual Effects
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences released their long list of potential nominations in the Achievement in Visual Effects category for the 83rd Academy Awards, to air live on Sunday, February 27, 2011, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center. Amongst the 15 semifinalists is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I. The full list can be found below. Quote:

• "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader"
• "Clash of the Titans"
• "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1"
• "Hereafter"
• "Inception"
• "Iron Man 2"
• "The Last Airbender"
• "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief"
• "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time"
• "Scott Pilgrim vs the World"
• "Shutter Island"
• "The Sorcerer’s Apprentice"
• "Tron: Legacy"
• "Unstoppable"
The list will be shortened to seven in early January; and on the morning of the Oscar nominations, Tuesday, January 25, 2011, five will be chosen as those up for the 2010 Academy Award. Will will have much more on the semifinalists and nominations in January as they are released. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I has now been released worldwide. I agree that it deserves fan award AND the workers gets to deserve to get reconized for the hard work they put in the last movie!
However, i wish the oscars would at least reconize Rupert Grint and Emma Watson for their outstanding job in their supporting roles. Daniel Radcliffe does deserve one for leading role. I honestly believe that Rupert and Emma rocked this film than any other HP films! I hope that the Oscars arent finished choosing the list and its still ongoing and the trios still have a chance. I mean, come on!! They have been with HP for 10 years working their butt off, the oscars should take some kind of reconization into that!!
Someone wrote an article which i strongly support about the way Oscara works and their opinion on fanasty films especially with Harry Potter films. I suggest you read this article! I think it's great, and I hope that it will go all the way because they deserve it, I know it's not their first oscar nomination (they were among others nominetaed for best cinematography for HBP) but I would love it if they won now that it's all coming to an end.
