Dan Radcliffe & Tom Felton visit injured stuntman in London hospital

Actors Daniel Radcliffe (who had returned back to the UK on Monday after the run of his Broadway production of Equus had completed) and Tom Felton visited recovering Harry Potter stuntman David Holmes yesterday at the National Orthopaedic Hospital in London.

David, who has played Dan's stunt double throughout the entire Harry Potter series, was injured late last month on set during pre-production of Deathly Hallows, suffering from spinal injuries.

It was stated that both actors "appeared shaken upon leaving the hospital, and with due cause."

This was Dan's double, correct? And has he been through all the movies so far?
Yes, and yes. I'll add both facts to the post in case anyone else was wondering. :)

That's so nice of them! I remember seeing this man on the GOF DVD..
I hope he gets better soon :)

Aww that was sweet of them... I wonder why thye came out looking "shaken" though? Now I'm curious, I want to see this injury!

Golden Monkey 02-11-2009 08:34 PM

Wow, that was so sweet of them. see, you learn something new everyday; I didn't know it was his stunt double guess I should read the news more often.

I hope he gets better soon, poor guy.

I'm also curious as to why they appeared "shaken" I hope the injury isn't too too serious.

hpluvr037 02-11-2009 08:44 PM

Dan and Tom are nice guys. It's nice to see the fame hasn't completely gone to their heads.

Good for Dan and Tom! Nice to know the movie business at least has some decent people in it!

ladycplum 02-11-2009 11:25 PM

These guys are the unsung heroes of movies with a fairly big "action" quotient. And it's obvious they're deservedly appreciated by their extended family here. I read Tom's girlfriend was sobbing when they left. :(

Little Trooper 02-12-2009 12:08 AM

That is sweet of them to stop by. Hope he recovers.

French_December 02-12-2009 12:12 AM

I will be praying for you David!

Gryffindor2009 02-12-2009 01:13 AM

I'm so glad Dan and Tom went to see David. I know it had to brighten his day to see them both. :D I hope David continues to recover well.

What was the stunt that injured him?

Patronus Charm 02-12-2009 01:58 AM

hey!! no double or triple posting!!

I hope he is not paralyzed....however, both Tom and Dan coming out shaken and Tom's girlfriend was sobbing (read the Daily Mail article about this) tells me that the injury is very severe & paralysis comes to mind based on the earlier info provided.

half_blood_prince 02-12-2009 02:04 AM

I always think the same thing whenever I hear "back injury" used.

mione_girlgwp 02-12-2009 02:28 AM

Praying for you David!

Dan, Tom, and Tom's girlfriend are such wonderful people to go visit him.

Renessita 02-12-2009 03:08 AM

Ginny GL 02-12-2009 04:17 AM

So nice of them!!

I so hope he gets better.

finfin91 02-12-2009 05:10 AM

I'm also glad they visited David. Frankly, it's the least they could do, especially since he has been Daniel's double since the very beginning. I also wonder what part of the movie he was doing the stunt for. Just curious.

One of the reports about the incident mentioned that he was on a broomstick, so it's either the flight battle or the Room of Requirement scene (unless an originally-created scene in which Harry needs to fly has been added in).

poor guy!I feel for poor David :(

Because spinal injuries tend to be quite serious.

Something to do with explosions and flying.

MeredithRodneyMckay 02-12-2009 03:21 PM

That was really sweet of them. It's understandable that they would be shaken given the reports on the injury.
I really hope his recovery goes well.

phoenix_tears 02-12-2009 04:39 PM

OMG !

I really hope he gets well soon !

:( , He doesn't deserve this.

It's really nice of Dan and Tom to visit him !

GinnyW21 02-12-2009 06:03 PM

All Loved Up 02-12-2009 06:05 PM

That was very nice of both of them! One more reason why the are so loved.

The one I love is a lion through and through
I don't think there's anything he couldn't do

Chocolate frogs are the treat I crave. Don't know why but they put me in a daze.

That was nice of them.

ronhermioneroc12 02-13-2009 01:24 AM

That was very sweet of the guys to visit David. I also will continue to pray/keep him in my thoughts.

TheDivaDivine 02-14-2009 11:27 AM

That is cool that Dan and Tom visited their friend David in the hospital. For some reason I just wish that I did have to hear it in the press. Some things should be sacred and not sported in the news. I wish David and his family the best in the future and I hope he does not sustain permenant damage.

Zoe 02-14-2009 10:32 PM

That was so sweet of them! I hope that David is recovering well.

They're public figures, they would've known it would happen. Could have used a back entrance to avoid being pictured if it was that big of a deal.
