According to Sussex radio station Southern FM, Warner Bros. is looking for teenagers aged 15 to 18 to play Lavendar Brown and Tom Riddle in the upcoming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Open auditions will reportedly be held at Earl’s Court in London on July 1 and 8 respectively. Click here for more information.

We have contacted Warner Bros. for confirmation about the legitimacy of these auditions.

I don't think they allow non-British actors in the movies unless the book calls for it... at least I remember hearing that awhile back.

ohh shoot...I was hoping the open call for Lavender would be in August when I'm going to England for a couple weeks...even though I'm not technically British..that wouldnt stop me from going to the call and trying anyway!! it'd be a great experience just to try and audition!!

I wish they would have audtions in America... I mean, if I can pull of a convincing Jamacian nurse... I could surely play a whiny, clingy british bird. Besides that, half my vob consits of british phrases.... which really makes conversation with my hard-up American mates difficult because they always have that dumbstruck look.... "What's that mean?" It's a right pain in the bum.

Anywho... I wish they would have auditions here... as much as I loath the country, I still think it would be only fair to have them here.....

I mean, really... no matter where you go, all you'll find are people who don't actually care about acting, all they want is to either A) be in HP, or B) Snog Ruper Grint sensless and really... those are not good motivational tools for an actor.

*Sigh* No hope for those of us who actually care about the craft when we are stuck here in America.... bloody hell.

You know who would make a great Tom Riddle? Gaspard Ulliel from Hannibal Rising! He'd be perfect. But he's 23 so maybe he's too old. :rolleyes:

Yeah, I might do actually. I told my mum about it, and she's urging me to audition. Basically, if I don't, I'll live the rest of my life wondering what would've happened if I went. I doubt I'll get the part, but it's worth a shot, so I might aswell go. :P

EDIT: just checked the bbc newsround website as they had info on the luna auditions last time and they have all the same information on there about open auditions for lavender and tom riddle so i guess it's all real and legit!

I'm 15 and am British, but what I don't get is why everyone's saying Lavender has to have blonde hair. Where are people getting this from? And also why don't they let you audition without make-up? They'll smother you with it anyway. Grrrrrrrrrrr.
