Callum Turner cast as Newt's brother Theseus Scamander in 'Fantastic Beasts' series
 

British actor Callum Turner (War & Peace, Victor Frankenstein, Assassin's Creed) has reportedly been cast as Theseus Scamander, the famous war hero, Auror, and older brother of Newt in the upcoming Fantastic Beasts sequel, set to begin production this summer.

Theseus Scamander, according to a letter he sent to Newt, was reportedly put on assignment to find Gellert Grindelwald in Europe, as noted in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Turner (27), who will portray Newt's big brother, funnily enough is actually eight years younger than Eddie Redmayne (35), who of course portrays the lead and magizoologist in J.K. Rowling's five-part saga. Also set to return for the second movie in the series are Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler, Ezra Miller, Zoe Kravtiz, Johnny Depp, and Jude Law.

i gotta wonder if his role is a flashback of some sort. if we get to see Theseus in real time that would be awesome for me, i'd always love to see more of the Scamander family dynamic.
