I have to laugh when he says "delivers to the three children"- they are definitely not children anymore... CANT WAIT FOR DH!!!! |
Great interview! He is so great!! Can't wait to see him and all the others in DH!!! |
Great interview!!!! :D |
aww bless him thats made me see scrimgeour differently :hmm: |
I'm really looking forward to seeing him in DH.He is just perfect for the role IMHO. :D |
I love Bill!!! He was so fantastic in Pirates and Underworld! Also Alex Rider! |
Neat. :) He seems like he'll be a good Scrimgeour. |
when he hands over the inheritance in the book, he plays detective....he doesnt, in the least, act like he may not be there in the future, so is this yet another twist??? |
Oh yay! I didn't realise Bill Nighy was going to be in Deathly Hallows; I love him, he's so awesome. Now I'm looking forward to it even more! :D |
cool but children?! i wouldn't call them that |
I love him for being so enthusiastic about this even before he got the part. Love him, love him, love him. (And of course he'd call them children! If I were older I'd definitely call anyone twenty or more years younger than me a child, especially anyone I'd seen as children in a series of ridiculously popular films.) |

lovin' life Hmmm sounds interesting...can't wait for DH! :D only 11 more months...only, hmmph T.T wish it was closer... :bnawtf: |
Bill will be great in DH and I can't wait to see Davy Jones without tentacles in action!!;):p |
Nice short interview! |
Glad to hear they're keeping the will in, what with their knack of getting rid of things that seem important. |
Ooh I truely can't wait for this movie! I'm sure he will be great as Rufus!!! |
I cant wait to see Bill's portrayal of Rufus |
Interesting... Wonder if they are changing it a bit, in the book Harry and Scrimgeour fight and Scrimgeour storms out. Wouldn't really say that was a touching scene?? It's not until Harry finds out Scrimgeour died to protect him that he starts to change his mind about him. |
I've never thought of Scrimgeour being deep, but I guess he is. |
WOOT! I'm excited Scrimgeour is portrayed in the Deathly Hallows movie! I was disappointed we didn't get to see him in HBP, but hopefully this will make up for it! |
this is not new, i've read this interview a long long time ago in this site... |
Awesome!!!! |
Minister for Magic I always thought Bill Nighy had acting chops, his Davey Jones character in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies was muy excelente. He played a tragic figure in those films and I suppose the same goes for his role as Rufus Scrimgeour. He has the best interests of the Wizarding world at heart, but doesn't seem to be know how best to advance the cause against the forces of Darkness unless it involves the direct approach which involves some desperate and politically motivated methods. Keep the population thinking that things are all well when in fact they are not, he is in a difficult position. Harry cannot go along with the Ministry's party line and there interference as it turns out is counterproductive to the Horcrux hunt. There is a mutual respect between Scrimgeour and Potter but an abundance of mistrust. |
I always sort of saw Scrimgeour as a figure of respect, because whatever he did - trying to be the detective and all, was all because he knew the impending disaster... Bill Nighy makes me have hope for the movie, they're keeping the will in! :D |
Great intrerview When I heard that Bill Got the part as Rufus Scrimgeour, I was over the moon. I couldnt agree more. Well Done Bill. |
Feel excited.. |
Good interview. BUT as 17 is considered 'of age' in the wizarding world, they are definately NOT kids. |
Scrimgeour is kind of annoying at first but then it's quiet touching that he didn't reveal Harry's where abouts to the DeathEaters. |
wow. amazing. |
im glad to see who is playing scrimgeour |

Bill Nighy is such an amazing actor. I'm so happy they cast him for this role!! :D |
Awesomeness! |
Great!:loved: |
I like Scrimgeour. I think he's not a one-dimensional character at all, is very deep, but most readers don't tend to think of him that way. Poor guy, though. He had loads to handle ... and he had to try to regain the faith people once had in the Ministry. He could have made a great Minister, in a less freaky time. =[ |
Woot woot, go Rufus! :P Annnd, I totally agree with Maxie. :D |
Nice interview !! |
Awesome! |
Sweet |
I'm so excited! Bill is a great actor and I'm glad he's going to be portraying Scrimgeour. |
cant wait!!!!! nice interview!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
I'm glad to hear that he's going to be in the film this time! |

^ Unless I'm absolutely positive, I'm not pulling this. |
I can't wait to see the movies! |
What an interesting interpretation of the character, his thoughts certainly made me think differently! |
Can't wait . !. That's cool that there'll be moving parts ;D I like crying in cinema haha :D |
Hmmm. I found Scrimgeour's character ridiculously hardheaded, although politically excellent. As the Minister, getting Harry on his side was the smartest move he could have made, so he should have done every single thing in his power to make sure that happened. but i digress... :O) |
Awesome!! he sounds like a good Scrimgeour.. Can't wait for DH I'm dying with the waiting!!! :( |
i loved bill nighly in love actuallyy :D so i hope he is as good buhh he wil be cooz its hp :P buhh i jus cnt imagine it yet.. am xcitedd 2 c itt xx |
I can't wait to see pics of Scrimgeour. I really can't wait for anything. |
Can't wait! Bill is going to be a good one. Should of done HBP in two movies. |
He is the perfect minister!!!!! |
