Arthur Weasley attacked by Fenrir Greyback in Half-Blood Prince?

We now have scans of the entire Half-Blood Prince feature in Movie Magic magazine, which we first told you about a couple days ago. All of the scans can now be seen here.

Of interest are an interview with Tom Felton and the mention of a plot diversion in the sixth film.

Tom talks about Draco's motivation and David Heyman points to the depths of the character that are explored in this movie.

There is also a Half-Blood Prince Encyclopaedia, in which a scene involving Arthur Weasley and Fenrir Greyback is described;

Quote:

"...in his attempt to create 'an army of werewolves' Fenrir attacks Harry, but Harry or (someone unseen) petrifies him in time. But Ron’s Dad is not so lucky-Fenrir mauls his face and nearly kills him.”
This would appear to indicate that Ron's dad has been given Bill Weasley's fate in the movie - as we know both he and Fleur Delacour will NOT be in Half-Blood Prince.

Thanks to Harry/Ginny Studio Gallery and The Leaky Cauldron for the info!

I guess it's only natural since Bill and Fleur will not appear

edit: Woot! First to post!

BeccaBear 07-10-2008 11:54 AM

umm, no, I believe that is Bill not Mr.Weasley. I don't think they should be changing this....

All I am going to say is maybe its adaptation, (fair enough), but this adaptation is becoming totally... screwed up/barbaric.

I would of rather had them keep Bill's story line totally out of the movie. Not change Bill's fate into someone else's fate.

Serena 07-10-2008 12:09 PM

I agree, but I have to say I saw that one coming *sigh* I suppose they think it will create the right mood and if they didn't put the attack, it would lose the tension. meh.

Ive decided to leave all judgment about the changes untill ive seen the movie then if its bad i will be very....Annoyed i think would be the nicest word for it

Mr Weasley can never catch a break can he? Mauled by a snake, then a werewolf... Molly needs to make sure he takes out some life insurance.

Steelsheen 07-10-2008 12:38 PM

no not Arthur Weasley :(

i'd rather they keep the mauling incident out instead of slapping Arthur with another injury.

Leia 07-10-2008 01:11 PM

thats just ridiculous!

ReneeWeasley 07-10-2008 01:46 PM

Seems like they have to change something for each movie....which bites. Well, hopefully the rest of it will be good.

I concur

This is way lame. For all they've changed and omitted so far, it better be good.

Shy_Marauder 07-10-2008 01:54 PM

I'm getting pretty sick of them destroying the books in order to make movies. This is just ridiculous.

Ms Wood 07-10-2008 01:56 PM

i realy think we should write the script!!!
i think give the actors the books and they can improv it!!!

then obviously wont start DH with the wedding then.... sob

Liisa 07-10-2008 01:57 PM

Why does it not shock me that they are once again screwing up this movie?

Egyptian_Blue 07-10-2008 02:11 PM

.....

Wow. I don't like that at all. What's wrong with putting just Bill in for a few minutes so he can get mauled? I'd rather they left it out and didn't change who got attacked.

Emma C.D. Watson 07-10-2008 02:23 PM

yikes!hate it when they keep changing the scenes like this!come on!they alrdy changed the script so much since it was written..and now even more...it's alrdy so little like the book as it is!:gryff:

I'm guessing because the impact is bigger if it's Arthur. We know who Bill is but the general audience do not. All we've seen of him in the films is the briefest flash of that Egyptian photo in Prisoner of Azkaban. Although I do concur that it would've been better to have ommitted it entirely.

Hermionespell 07-10-2008 02:34 PM

They really did change that a bit too much...

That's a really good point, I forgot Bill wasn't in the other movies. In that case, they should just get rid of the scene. Maybe they will if the movie's too long.

Solo 07-10-2008 02:45 PM

Sounds like the movie is pretty much a seperate identity from the book. Adding scenes, deleting important scenes, changing things. Not even trying to adapt the book are they? I'm sort of thinking of just skipping this movie altogether, wait to DVD. Plus I'm starting to hope Twilight stomps HP because they deviated from the book so much.

They do delete scenes. But if it has a lasting effect (e.g. for the next 2 films), I'm guessing it'll stay :/

expectopatronum 99 07-10-2008 02:53 PM

yes it's a shame that poor Arthur is going to get hurt again, but it's good that Greyback's attack is being kept in. this makes it far more likely that Greyback will feature in capture of the trio, Malfoy Manor, etc in DH.

Antwone Thomas 07-10-2008 03:06 PM

ARTHUR ALREADY HAS BEEN BIT! Why can't they .... argh.

MiMi318 07-10-2008 03:19 PM

agreed, leave it out if you can't do it right...
