Magical Petting Zoo Whoever said the petting zoo was just for kids? At Diagon Alley's Summer Street Festival, the Magical Petting Zoo is for children of all ages- from 0 to 900. Behind the pastel gates of the petting zoo, adventurers can enjoy an array of different exposures to see the critter creatures of the magical world AND get the chance to feed some animals too...with Mum and Dad's permission, of course. |
Rachie! The Summer street festival, what a great event for the summer. Of course, Wade thought so. It was pretty warm out, though not as warm as Wade was feeling as he and Indy held hands on their way over to.. the petting zoo! "Look babe, they got llamas too!" Oh, Wade was excited too if you couldn't tell. The little kid inside was dying to burst off running towards them, but no, he was going to remain calm and take every little extra step with his Indy bear on over. :>>>>>> Did we mention how happy and excited he was? |
Quote:
"Oooh. Llamas are pretty." She beamed, tugging on his hand a little to pull him over to the petting zoo. She wanted to get to it even faster than they were going. |
For Cassia! To say Forrest was elated would be an understatement. He wanted to run EVERYWHERE AT ONCE. He wanted to discover EVERYTHING, share the JOY and FUN, learn some stuff and eat delicious food. This was the MOSTEST awesome fair he had EVER attended! Did that label read flobberworm? Charlie's flobberworm? The jumping kid stopped at once, and allowed his mother to take a breather. It indeed read 'flobberworm'. "Mum, I'm gonna be there," he said as he'd pulled at her shirt and pointed at the cages. The woman said something, but he was gone without even listening to her. She was a grown-up, albeit a muggle in a magical world. He wasn't going to babysit her, was he? In two seconds he was by the flobberworm cage, watching the creatures intently. |
Quote:
*squeeze* *squeeze* Yep, Wade could feel it in his hands, yep, they needed to get over there.. and fast! Seeing how Indy was getting anxious too. "Let's get closer." He skipped, yes skipped, with her right over to where the llamas where. "Do you think we could ride them?" |
Quote:
He was skipping? Indiana giggled, skipping over with him though. Nobody would think that they were 17 years age. But she really didn't care. "Ooooh. I hope soo...." She beamed, leaning up to stick her hand through the cage. They were preeetty. |

Cassia ignored the scorching sun and made her way to the north end of street having already spotted all the people gathered and the signs and whatnot. A festival indeed. She had no plan as to what exactly she wanted to do or whom she was going to meet, if any. But she hoped to see some of her friends. Right now she decided to take a tour and check everything out. Yeah, she had time. Frankly, she was curious about the Magical petting zoo. It made her curious. The petting part. So she decided that it'd her first exploring place. The blond started shuffling her feet checking out the cages and the creatures inside them. Cute indeed. She liked creatures. Except her owl, pretty reasonable, huh? What was that? That was flobberworm. AND who was that? That was Forrest. Glad she found someone she knew and remembering the name FAST and actually matching it with the house and face, something her memory liked to mess with. "Heey!" She said suddenly standing right behind the boy who was mesmerized by the creatures. Weren't they cute? Both them and the boy. "Careful, they don't like to be stared at too much," she actually wasn't sure of that. But no one liked being stared at. It was creepy. |
Rozanna was so excited to be here at the summer festival, and especially that it was with cute little animals. When she decided to stop being a lazy couch potato, she'd definitely like to be working with them full time one day. This was a good start, she supposed. After anxiously waiting for the kiddies to come and take a look around, Rozanna stopped dawdling on the spot when people finally arrived. Awesome! "Hi, everyone!" She called out to no one in particular. Just being kind and stuff. Rozan cleared her throat, a little nervously, then moved a little closer to a pair (Wade and Indy) who were taking a look at the llamas. She couldn't help but overhear their conversation. "Unfooooortunately," oh gosh, she didn't want to disappoint, "you can't ride the llamas today." Or any day, really. Not at THIS festival. "BUT, you are more than welcome to feed them, at a small price of 1 knut!" Which was a pretty darn good deal, if you asked her. Rozanna offered the couple a bright smile, then looked over at the llamas alongside them. They were so cuuuuute. She quickly glanced over at the other few people that had entered, but they seemed to be doing okay with the flobberworms. |
Lex & Tag. XD Astrid heard about this fancy summer festival in Diagon Alley and she didn't want to miss it out. With summer ending soon (not exactly but time just came by so fast for her), she wanted to make sure that this was the most memorable summer ever. Guess it would be a brilliant idea to start her fifth year soon, with awesome memories. However the street was so CROWDED. Merlin, was this how crammed Diagon Alley is every time they had a festival on the streets? Not that she had claustrophobia but you know, she just didn't like that she was being BUMPED BY PEOPLE. BUMP! BUMP! BUMP! Oow. Okay, that last one hurt... and it sent the tiny brunette over to one of the places in the street. Well, behind two gates to be exact. HMPH. How rude. Astrid decided to just keep walking further because there were just too many people on the street. Hey look... is that a NIFFLER? Okay, she wasn't getting out of the gates at all... and she didn't want to get bumped anymore. |
Hehehe Quote:
Soon enough he came around what seemed like some sort of petting zoo? Was that animals he saw? He had a hard time. Then he saw something white, and was something sticking out of its forehead? WAS IT?! NO IT COULDN'T BE! Without caring much Tag ran forward, forgetting that there were people around and started accidentally hitting them. He didn't care though, the excitement was bubbling in him. BUMP! Yeah, we're not saying sorry! "IS THAT A UNICORN?!" Tag asked hysterically as he held onto someone's shoulder and tried to bounce over it. |
Quote:
BUMP! And the knut went rolling farther away from her. Merlin, really? Who dares to bump her? Astrid ran and chased the knut a bit deeper into the petting zoo until she finally found it beside someone's foot. "Gotcha!" The brunette stood up with a beam... which then faded when someone yelled the word 'unicorn'. Oh. No. "AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Astrid screamed and flailed her arms up in the air. She needed to find refuge somewhere away from the unicorn. She ran around, breathing so fast, when she finally stopped and found someone (Tag). As if it didn't matter, Astrid HUGGED the person. "Save me..." |
Quote:
WHAT IN THE WORLD?! Tag felt something wrap itself around him and he had been so distracted by his own inconvience that it startled him. The boy wiggled this way and that way in an attempt to shove off that thing clinging to him. Giving up Tag stepped forward, roughly, and the grip the person had on him was loosened. Turning around he saw who had clung onto him. His eyes got big. "AHHHHHHHHHH!!!" |
Quote:
And then that person was trying to detach them?! REALLY? Astrid wanted to take refuge, but the dude didn't want to help. She wouldn't let go though; the more the dude tried to wiggle himself away, the more Astrid hugged him. NOPE. "SAVE ME. I SAID SAVE ME." And then there came the yell. Which totally surprised Astrid too. "AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!" She was still clinging, but even tighter. There was still a UNICORN out there. |

Text Cut: Cassia Forrest watched and watched them, and failed to see what was so special about them to adopt one as a pet. No really. All they did were producing that sticky-horrible-liquid-thing. They were slow, clearly of low intelligence-- He jumped when someone talked so close to his ear from behind. He was in the middle of an examination. Show him a little respect, will ya? He turned to see what was their problem, and found Cassia advising him wisely again. Really, the girl could be his mental tutour. So far her lesson count stood at three, and this was the second time they interacted. "Hello," he greeted him. There was still an edge to his voice, because he had been annoyed before knowing it was Cassia. He took one step back to follow her advice, but he wasn't going to look away. Seriously. What could they possibly do? He had to convince Charlie to get a fancy animal like a cat or something. Flobberworms were boooring. "Fancy fair," he |
Text Cut: Forrest Did she startle him? She wasn't intending on that. Really, it just came across her mind that she could have coughed or made a sound as she approached the boy who wasn't paying attention to his surroundings. Kids those days who don't watch their backs. She needed to rub off the Slytherin paranoia on him. For his own good. "Like them?" She asked motioning towards the creatures inside the cage. Fancy hair? Wasn't the boy a little bit young to flirt. The blond grinned and walked closer to him and the cage, "Why, thank you, yours isn't bad either." She ruffled his hair then turned her attention to the flobberworms. She liked compliments and ignored the intentions behind them. Back to the flobberworms, she stared a bit then sighed. They really didn't do anything, did they? What was he staring at, then. Finding those boring she looked around her and found machines. They were for food, right. "You think they'd be more interesting if we toss them some food," |
Quote:
...what? He frowned in deepest confusion and looked at her dumbly, but flinched away from hair-ruffling instinctively. He wasn't that confused to let her ruffle his hair. But... what wasn't bad either? ...did she own this fair?! But then, he didn't have any fair, did he? "What's not bad?" One could find Baghdad only by asking it, right? Anyways, WHO CARED. "No, I think they're over their limit of fun." He made a face as he looked back at them. "Let's look at fancier animals." |
Text Cut: Forrest Noted. He didn't like his hair ruffled. She pulled her hand as he pulled away. Not invading personal space or anything. "Didn't you just compliment my hair?" Nope she didn't hear wrong at all. Why would she? Not like her attention span was short or easily distracted. Or come to think of it...? He didn't really say 'hair', but she must have been worried about her hair and how it looked that she just assumed so. Eeeh. Whatever. Sounded that he was bored watching them this short period of time. They indeed were boring. Those creatures where only good for their liquids? Or whatever they were for. But surely not for any entertainment activities. Though they'd succeed in putting people to sleep. Put a couple in a cage inside a kid's room and tell them to watch them before sleep. Well, she didn't want to sleep. She had a festival to explore. "I say we go see the nifflers," She suggested. "They're cooler, like they actually move," She said. And they were cool because they dug for shiny stuff. That was very cool. |
Fern darted around the vendors and fair-goers, never letting her sight stray from the pastel gates which promised all sorts of wonderful creatures. "HURRY TALLULAH!" she called to her cousin, and not waiting for the older girl to catch up, raced into the Magical Petting Zoo. Ooooh! Who to visit first!? There were llamas and nifflers and - Fern gasped with delight - winged horses and unicorns! The 11-year-old allowed herself a moment of jumping up and down in excitement before relaxing her whole body and slowly walking towards the winged horses' enclosure. "Hi," she said softly, approaching a friendly looking Abraxan from the side. As the child neared, the horse perked it's ears and sniffed the back of her hand when she stretched her arm through the bars. "You're so pretty," Fern crooned, admiring its golden coat and the white blaze that matched its mane, "What's your name, huh?" |
Quote:
The Petting Zoo. Of course. The kid who lives on a HORSE FARM would get excited about the petting zoo. "FERN DON'T MAKE ME RUN, DAMMIT!" Tallulah eyed a couple of the nifflers as she went past them, suppressing a grin. Nifflers were kind of cute. She walked at a leisurely pace, squeezing past smaller kids and over-enthusiastic adults as she spotted her cousin. 'You're so pretty,' "Of course I am, Ferny." Heh. Tallulah watched the horse - Abraxan - ('terminology is important, Tallulah.') Fern was complimenting. It was an exceptionally pretty Abraxan. Tallulah was mildly envious of its coat. Her hair wasn't nearly that stunning. She blew a piece of hair out of her face, as if insulting it for not being golden. "Don't you guys have these at home?" She enquired, meaning 'Can we go and do something actually interesting, please?' |
Olivia anderson has entered the... Zoo... Text Cut: NIXY & BETH Zoos: yes or no? The animals are great! But not when they're... (What did that lady say?) Um... "Trapped by the confines of... inhuman decency?" Oh! "Human indecency." I hate indecency. Olivia Anderson, in a TERRIBLE sun-dress, moped through the zoo- "AWWWW!" ... No one heard that. Olivia Anderson moped through the petting zoo just in sight of her father. I wish his eyes would stop following me... She passed a MISERABLE looking donkey (at least she thought it was miserable looking, perhaps all donkeys look content while chewing), and a couple of magical animals she had no clue of the names of, when she finally came across a horse-thing. A MISERABLE looking horse-thing, which is absolutely beautiful and needs to be set free!!! ...right? Olivia didn't figure that the animals were treated like royalty (cause, you know, MAGIC), but instead decided to start a campaign against this tyranny. Marching up to the first person she saw, a future ally in her cause, Olivia answered the question: "IT'S NAME IS INHUMAN DECENCY!" Olivia exclaimed to the person with her arm through the bars, "Do you want to help me set it free???" |
I'm going HP-canon for classes. :) Quote:
And back to booooring creatures. Eh. Oh look she was bored too! He listened to her suggestion and nodded vigourously. "Okay." It would be nice to watch something that actually moved. "What are they, though?" Shame CoMC was since third grade. So far, it had been a more necessary class than potions. |
There was something about the festival atmosphere that she loved, which was surprising, considering rubbing shoulders with randoms wasn't really her thing. Go figure she wasn't one for petting zoos and fluffy puffed up creatures either, and yet here she was. At the petting zoo. Arms folded in front of her, Emily peered around at the creatures, she wasn't a fan of flobberworms but the winged horses were neat enough. Augrey's too. But llamas? Really?... Emily found herself face to face with one, she eyed it suspiciously. |
SPOILER!!: Tag and Astrid! Woah woah.... woah. Noise. Rozanna spun around on her heel, diverting her attention away from the cute llamas, when two kiddos (Astrid & Tag) got a little overexcited about the unicorn. No biggie, though. Unicorns were exciting! But when they started SCREAMING at each other, Rozan sighed because she just had to go over and say something. "Hiiiii!" Awkward moment was awkward. "Great that you're excited, guys! But the screaming may frighten some of the animals." Especially that unicorn. That unicorn had gruuuuuumpy cornflakes this morning. Sooooooo, shh. Wait? Was the girl okay? She looked a little bit distressed... "Errrr, are you alright there, love?" She definitely needed a cuppa tea. ROZAN HAD NO TEAS. And no food that was suitable for humans, as a matter of fact. Great planning there. Rozanna did another once over around the zoo, happy that everyone was occupied with the animals. The Porlocks seemed a little neglected, though, so she made a mental note to go over there in a second. But first she was thinking it was time to do the rounds and see who wanted to feed these critters! |

"Faster, dad!" The six year old hung off her father's arm to the point where if she let go she'd face plant thanks to her centre of balance being completely off with her eagerness. "Alright, alright. They aren't going anyplace, Lolly." Rusty played the anchor, keeping a good grip on his progeny's hand. Of course they'd come down here, given they lived right in the Leaky Cauldron and all. It was almost-free entertainment, so he couldn't complain. He could also spare a few knuts for Lola so really, with the day off and all, Rustin was looking forward to a relaxed day with his daughter. She tugged him through the pastel gates. "Is there one I can ride, dad? I want to ride something. Can I? Can I feed one? Can I feed them all?" Lola was pretty much beside herself with excitement. \ "Its a petting zoo not a riding zoo. We'll see. What do you want to look at first?" He let her steer them. Oh which? Lola eyed the Porlocks with interest... they looked like bales of hay. Maybe. Soon. Oh! No, what about the nifflers? No! The flying horses! Or what about... .... Lola stopped short. "Dad how come there's llamas? Are they magic llamas?" She tugged him over so they could SEE. "Maybe its food for something bigger and cooler." "Maybe it is." He agreed as they stopped, but Rusty wasn't looking at the llamas. That there was an Emily in front of one. ".... so, did the Llama break the law?" He said, addressing the Head Auror. |
