For Lauren/Emmeline Gaston had some time to himself today. Rose had gone shopping with her friends, and there was only so much staying cooped up in the house that he could take. Now seemed like a good time for a trip to Diagon Alley! The dark-haired Frenchman mumbled to himself as he made a mental not of all the places he needed to go today. He had to pick up the dress robes he'd ordered from Madam Malkin's, then go to Sugarplum's to replenish his candy stash. And he should probably stop in Flourish & Blotts while he was here. He needed a new journal, and it couldn't hurt to see if they had any new romance novels while he was there. But first, ice cream! He was starving! He made a beeline for Florean's and ordered a couple of scoops of double fudge brownie in a chocolate bowl. Bright blue eyes scanned the courtyard area and eventually landed on a vacant table at the far side. He smiled a little to himself. This way he could people-watch. He wondered what his students were doing now; he never stopped thinking about them, even when school wasn't in session. There was one in particular he was worried about... He sighed, shaking his head to clear the memory of thatconversation. If he thought about it too long, it would make him angry, and there was too much going on in his life for him to be that angry right now! |

Cameron might have winced a liiiiittle bit, not expecting quite SUCH a firm handshake. Not that he suspected that the man had done it on purpose. He was just a big strong man, right? Yes. "It's short for Cameron." He added with a smile, casually taking his hand back. "Nice to meet you, Mr Bole." Ice cream now though, yes? He looked back over at Xavvie, offering a smile. "Do you want to go get ice cream?" They could bring some back for Mr Bole? |

"They can be pretty fun, and sometimes confusing as all get out, but Azura and Leon are good kids. " He wanted to hang out sigh both of them as much as he could, seeing as Leon would be going back to the Ministry and Azura would be going to France. "Sometimes that is all we can do. I do apologize for their actions though, such thinking is so backwards.." He wished he could apologize on behalf of all purebloods but sadly that wasn't a thing he could do. He smiled as she sat down across from him and the put her hand on his arm! He looked down at it for a moment, it had been awhile since a pretty woman had touched his arm.. And he kinda liked the feeling of it. "Well my niece lives in France so I'll probably be able to go there and visit at times, Italy.. hmmm I'll have to put it on the list. " He said with a smile as his green eyes went wide as he spoke.. "You.. know who I am? " Than how the heck did he not know who she was? |

"I am sure they can be both at the same time even, teenage angst and all." She smiled, "They sound great. You must have been pretty young when they were born if they are that old already." Isley couldn't remember his siblings so they had to have been older than him. Isley sighed into a smile, "Ah, nothing for you to apologize for. As I said, I have come to terms with my muggle family. Though it can be difficult and lonely. All I can hope for is that...they see the light." With a flick of her wand, the chairs at the table she was sitting at straightened themselves so that it would look more presentable. "Hopefully one day they will realize that magic is a wonderful thing." She grinned. "Oh, good! I am sure she will want to take you all over. It's absolutely lovely. And you better add Italy to the list because you would be majorly losing out if you didn't." She paused for a moment, "OH! Greece too! Especially Santorini. It's lovely there. Not just because of the food...but it's just beautiful." Oh, how she wished she could go back. "That I do." She grinned and leaned forward, "The question is do you know who I am?" Her grin turned into a huge smile. |

Stand down. Please? Despite her dad trying to crush Cam's hand, Xavvie smiled brightly. She was determined to get her dad used to her having friends who were boys, there was nothing wrong with that, of course. "Yes!" She looked at her father as he sat down. "Do you want ice cream, too?" She couldn't tell if he was too focused on everything else to focus on making sure the ice cream wasn't poisoned or something. On second thought. "I'll bring you something!" She decided it was better not to let her dad make that choice because he might decide to go with them and that would be a little bit smothering. She gave her father another bright grin and hurried off, hoping Cam would take note and follow quickly. Ice cream was waiting! |
<3333 SPOILER!!: 5th year Frieennndsssss!!! <3 It wasn't long at all before it wasn't simply herself and Vivian at the table, but they were quickly joined by Hattie, Felicity and Junia. Naturally, because the class of 2096 was a tight group and quite awesome, if Skylar did care to admit herself. Well, at least the fifth year witches; she liked Kirk well enough, but apparently he was too busy to noticed the other fifth years gathering ... probably was with Mel. Beaming when they didn't even have to ask but just joined them, she was glad too that Felicity was feeling so very comfortable with them. And Junia was the only one, ironically, who had decided to get her ice cream before sitting down. Which of course made Sky feel bad, because how was she meant to get up to get her ice cream now that everyone was here? If only tableside service was a thing at Floreans ... "Heyyyyy!!" She greeted her favorite girls, before looking at Vivian. "I told you. One of each. Or just go for the green one, cause Slytherin represent and all," she giggled. "I haven't actually ordered yet." Oops? She was just playing bad influence over here, by contributing to overeating on ice cream, as if there was even such a thing. "Just playing quidditch. I finally bought my very own beater's bat, so now I don't have to borrow one! BUT I don't know what to name it...Maybe Havijunlisky?" she frowned, but smiled at that random idea that popped into her head. Would any of them pick up on its cleverness? . "And then, playing with my niffler, who well, I'm glad I didn't get seeker, because practicing with a golden snitch with a niffler around," Skylar rolled her eyes. "And of course hanging out with ..." She fell silent, realizing she didn't want to make Liss, Hattie, or Vivi feel bad. "I'm trying to sort out our study schedules for next year too. We gotta keep organized so we don't fall behind." They didn't mind, right? Because surely they wanted good marks just as much as she did... |

Yeah? Offering the man another polite smile, Cameron quickly followed his friend, walking next to her. "What are you getting?" Also was her father always like this? So...quiet. And cold. It wasn't for him to judge really but he was wondering. In silence. |

"I hope they do see the light sometimes. " He said with a warm smile as he looked over at the table she fixed up with a flick of her wand, he grinned back at her. "Have you tried wandless magic at all? That can really impress people. " He said with a chuckle as he waved his hand at another table and everything straighted out.. Yeah he'd been practicing with Azura.. girl was good.. He chuckled softly as she spoke.. "Well, I'll add those to the list, not sure I'll get to them though, I'll have to find someone to go with me. " He didn't want to visit all these exotic places by himself! Maybe Triscuit? Get him out of the country and away from Rose? That might do him some good, yeah? Huh.. so she knew who he was? They must have gone to school together, that was the only thing the librarian could deduce.. "I'm afraid I don't.. can I have a hint? " He asked with a charming smile. |

Summer was turning out to be so much fun! Emmeline had been shocked, really, to see how much she liked living with Cami after she and James had been caught earlier in the summer. She'd gone to zoos (which she was kind of conflicted about), shopping, and all sorts of stuff! She even got to watch Muggle shows on the televisoren, or whatever that metal Muggle box was called. Today, Cami had gone out to go shopping in Diagon Alley with all of her girl professor friends, and Emmeline had some time to herself. Sort of. She maaaay have said she'd stay in view of whatever shop the professors were going to, but that would be SUPER boring. She figured as long as she was outside somewhere, that would be good enough. The twelve-year-old was wandering around DA with no particular shop in mind when she caught sight of Florean Fortescue's. ICE CREAM!!! Emmeline darted into the shop and spent 5 million years in line before she got a huuuuge cone of mint chocolate chip ice cream. And she didn't even have to steal it, 'cause she had pocket money! Stealing had been one of the few downsides of life on the road with James. Emmeline bounced carefully out of the shop, occasionally letting the purple fluff ball on her shoulder lick up some ice cream from her big cone too. "Not too much, Luna, you'll get a tummy ache," she reminded the pygmy puff gently as she scanned the OUTSIDE seating area for a free spot. It didn't take long for the soon-to-be second year to spot her Charms teacher and Head of House, Professor Marchand, sitting allll by himself. She frowned a little bit at the sight, 'cause he looked all sad and alone over there by himself. Emmeline paused for a few seconds of indecision -- was it weird to go up to professors outside of school? -- before she headed over, plopped down in the seat across from him and chirped, "Hiii Professor Marchand! Are you having a good summer?" Luna gave a small pygmy puff sound in greeting too, which Emmeline was super impressed by 'cause Luna was shy. The twelve-year-old focused on her ice cream for a few seconds before |

"We can only hope." Isley had a secret hope that her niece would turn out to be magical as well. She knew for sure this would make her family speak to her again. They wouldn't know what to do, and her parents worshiped the child. Isley grinned at his next question, watching as he gracefully cleaned up another table, "Oh, I usually do. Just didn't want to brag." She said with a giggle and a wink. She was actually rather talented at wandless magic. Hearing him laugh made her smile even more. Seeing him happy was wonderful, especially after he had been through what he went through with Serena. "I would take you any day!" She said with a wink and a grin. She wasn't very good at flirting, so she found being straight forward about things better than playing coy. She grinned. A hint huh? Hmmm. "Well....let me think. We went to Hogwarts together." She smiled hugely. That was all she would give him at this point. |

A voice provided a welcome distractions as his thoughts turned sad, and he looked up just in time to see one of his students join him, the very student he'd been worried about, as a matter of fact. He gave the girl a warm smile as she sat down, and the pygmy puff noise made him laugh a little. "Hello, Emmeline," he said. "And hello, Luna." He nodded toward the little purple puffball. Maybe the pygmy puff would let him pet it? "I am, thank you for asking. It's nice to relax for a bit." "So, how are... things?" he asked, being extra careful with his words so as not to bring up bad memories. His expression darkened slightly. He knew what it was like to experience a parent's disapproval, and it broke his heart to see it happen to one of his students! Granted, his father hadn't actually disowned him, though at this point he wasn't sure it would've been such a bad thing if he had. |

"Well feel free to brag sometimes, it's fun. " He inner Slytherin was coming out as he said that. He liked to brag at times and show off, when the time was right after all. He grinned at her. "Oh so you'll take me hmm? That's quite a few trips we are planning without me knowing your name. " He said as he reached up and adjusted some of his bangs as he looked over at her.. Though her hint.. So they HAD gone to school together, but.. why couldn't he place her? He didn't think she was a Slytherin, or a Ravenclaw, he knew many people in those houses.. "Were you a Hufflepuff? " He asked curiously.. |

That comment made her laugh again. "Such a Slytherin thing to say." Another hint of how much she knew about him. She grinned, "But of course you are right. It is quite fun to brag." She smiled brightly. A sneaky grin flashed across her face. "Very true. But I have a feeling you wont need me to tell you." So vain, this Slytherin playing with his hair. Or was that a nervous tick? She smirked at the thought. "Though I will say...taking trips with me are very fun." She said with an enticing smile. Ah....he got something right. "Indeed, I was. But not in your year or Tristan's." Another hint. She knew his best friend. She had a feeling if Tristan were here he would know who she was. She was actually quite chummy with him. But it was alright. She liked playing this game with him. |

She nodded all wisely and understandingly when the professor said it was good to relax a bit. She imagined the summer break being for teachers something like how cool it was for her to go to the infant creature nursery after a long day of too much Potions homework or something. Her face fell juuuust a little bit when he asked that super serious question, but she tried to eat some ice cream like as soon as she wasn't looking happy anymore. Professor Marchand was way too sad all the time as it was; she didn't want him to feel any worse. Once she couldn't really pretend to be eating ice cream anymore, the twelve-year-old plastered a smile on her face and replied honestly: "Cam--Professor Stewart is reallllly, really nice. And she takes me on trips and stuff." That much was true enough; her plan was to gloss over all the bad feelings that she'd had anyway and and her runaway adventures with James at the beginning of the summer. She didn't think a professor would be very impressed by that; she was kinda surprised that he hadn't heard already, though -- she and James Summers were both in his House after all. Maybe they gave teachers a break from "bad news" over the summer too. |

His eyes turned glassy as his grin widened from feeling her move. "She really is.." He only removed his hand to take another bite of the ice cream as he heard from Claudette that he wasn't the only one reconsidering the timing on naming her. "Yeah? Those are beautiful names, especially Lia.. Lia Auditore." Then an idea popped in, "You know, if we make her middle name Isabella her initials will spell out her first name, Lia Isabella Auditore. Perfect." It really was. |

Hmmm.. Kalen looked up at the woman for a moment, studying her face, and those eyes.. Wait.. Those eyes. Holy Mother of Merlin's socks! "Isley!" He said with a half laugh, half stunned choke! He remembered literally running into her when he was a seventh year and those stunning blue orbs shining up at him as he apologized.. "Merlin, I'm an idiot!" |
Quote:
She wasn't sure yet. "What are you getting?" Xavvie looked over to her friend and then took a quick peek back to where they had left her dad, he hadn't blown anything up, so that was always a good sign. |

She chuckled along with him as he finally figured it out. "It took you long enough. I didn't expect you to actually remember me, though." Mostly because she didn't think he had noticed she existed at all outside of that incident where he slammed into her making the books and papers in her arms fly all over the hallway. It surprised her when he actually remembered her name. "Nah, It's alright. I didn't completely expect you to remember me." She said with a grin. "It's not like we talked all that much...different houses...plus you were a year a head of me so...," she said with a shrug, hoping he never knew about the crush she had on him for so long. The only people that did were her friends in her year. ........hopefully. |
Sorry for the wait! Quote:
His blue eyes darted back to the girl, and he noticed Emmeline's face fall when he asked how things were going. His own expression darkened slightly. Great job, Gaston, he inwardly berated himself. Now you've made her sad! He sighed quietly and took a few bites of his ice cream, keeping a watchful eye on Luna all the while, as he waited for her to speak. "Good," he replied. "I'm so glad things are going better for you!" He smiled a little, giving her a look that was half skeptical, half sympathetic. Her smile looked a bit forced, and he knew for a fact that she wasn't telling him the whole story. He'd heard about her and Mr. Summers's escapades through the grapevine after the fact, though he wasn't sure if that was a good or bad thing. He would've turned the entire country upside-down to find them if he'd known at the time! A sudden wave of guilt crashed over him. If he'd done a better job keeping the promise he made to Emmeline last year, maybe she wouldn't have run away! He shook his head against the bad feelings, forcing himself not to let the smile he wore fall. He didn't want to upset her! "So what's your favorite place she's taken you?" he asked, trying to focus on the positive. |
Quote:
"Well lucky for you I have a fantastic memory. " He said as he winked over at her and nodded. "It's true, but you were in Tris's house so I did see you occasionally.." Not to mention those eyes, they were hard to miss. Very hard to miss. "Merlin! So how have you been? Good? Except for your family, I am sorry again about that. " |
Quote:
And they could get her father something he'd like of course. He wouldn't want to be part of their little adventure, probably. Noticing his friend's glance back, Cameron voiced his thoughts. "What does your father like?" Ice cream-wise of course. |
Could Van see inside from where he was sitting? Not as well as he'd like. So he'd just... stand up.... and stretch his legs. Yeah. That was it. And if he happened to be able to see through the window then.... well he just happened to be able to see through the window. Ahem. |
Quote:
"That you do." She said with a chuckle, despite it taking most of the conversation for him to figure out who she was. "Yep! Tristan was always really kind to me...despite how often he was in detention, he is a really great guy." She paused, "Not my type...too blonde...but really nice." She said with a grin. "Ah, well. I never made it known that my family was like this. They always have been. Never even sent me birthday or Christmas presents while I was at Hogwarts. But it's alright." Isley paused, "Otherwise, I am doing wonderfully. I went to Muggle Culinary School. I was a Chef for a long time, and now...I own Florean's." She smiled. She was so happy with every aspect of her life, outside of her family. "How are you doing?" |
Summer was ending and that meant there wouldn't be an influx of Hogwarts students coming to Florean's anymore. That made Esme rather sad because she enjoyed meeting the customers. It didn't hurt that some of them were her friends from Hogwarts. It was weird to think that she would never be returning there, but she was just so happy with how things were right now that it didn't make her all that sad. The worst part was that she was going to miss her friends who still went there. At least business would continue to run smoothly. Isley was busy taking orders, but the tables outside needed to be cleaned. Smiling, she set about doing that, glad that it wasn't too bust there now. Business was always nice, but sometimes it was better when everything was calm. As she worked, Esme hummed a song to herself. |
