It was weird and uncommon but Nils ordered for a plate of salad and some water, he needed to stay healthy for the department he worked in, able to catch those sneaky people around the ministry. He chewed on his green salad as he read the newspaper, looking to the street every now and then. |
Frida stepped into the muggle restaurant after making sure that her Ministry identification was hidden, and her appearance would pass for being muggle. There was a long row of pastries and bread under a glass display near the front of the restaurant, and since Frida didn't particularly feel like sitting down today, she settled for examining the baked goods, debating on what to buy. She caught sight of a couple familiar-looking individuals, who had to be employees at the Ministry, and nodded politely while feeling her stomach growl. 'Gah. Now...what do I want?' |
Having been kept busy with his work, Gavin had opted to eat outside the ministry today to tear himself away. As he entered the restaurant, his robe left at his desk so he would blend in in his normal appearing clothes, he looked around debating where to sit when he spotted a very familiar face observing the fresh pastries the restaurant offered. "I assure you, Mrs. Brown...this isn't what it appears to be," Gavin replied innoscently as he neared his friend and announced his presence. "I am in no way following you...on purpose." |

Frida had changed out of her robes and into a navy blue top that was a little billowy, making it a bit difficult for people to 'notice' anything; unless they happened to be looking for something, even if it was getting increasingly harder to hide. "Anyone else happen to follow you?" She raised her left eyebrow, figuring that Gavin would guess that Frida's use of the word 'anyone' meant Tasha. "We could sit if you'd like too..." 'Rather than stand by the front and nom on bread, yeah.' |

Gavin shook his head knowing full well who the everyone in Frida's question meant. "Nope...I'm all alone this time. Tasha had something she needed to finish first," he answered having asked her discretely before he left the office. Just because they had revealed feelings in front of the whole conference room didn't mean they broadcasted it all the time. "Sure...I think we can manage that." |

'Thank goodness they have fresh mustard here...' Frida thought as she noticed the little rack of condiments against the wall beside the table. 'I'm gonna need more than this perhaps. Ah well.' She would wait until Gavin joined her, or ordered whatever he wanted at the front before starting anything else. It was bad enough that her conscience was starting to send her on another guilt-trip. 'Way to leave your old friends out of your life...' Yeah. Lovely. Frida sighed a tiny bit, telling her brain that she should stop being so hard on herself. |

She took a smaller bite of food and swallowed it more successfully this time, "I've had a lot of things to think about recently. And it's very possible that I will be going on a leave of absence in the near future, I have been looking through a list of semi-retired Obliviators to take care of things while I'm gone." Frida sipped some more water and glanced up at Gavin, knowing that he was probably concerned, or peeved, or possibly a combination of both. She smiled lightly and said, finally, "Mal and I are expecting our first child. I'm due in the beginning of September." 'So by the time the Hogwarts train leaves for the next term, hopefully everything will be well and done with at the hospital.' |

"Oh..." he replied at first taken by surprise as he lowered the food back to his plate. Had his luck struck again? Was another friend of his leaving the department and perhaps the ministry for good? It certainly seemed that way as he listened to Frida continue on with her talk and plans for her division. Get a hold of yourself she said leave of absence...not forever. And when Frida dropped the second shoe his neutral expression turned into a bright smile. "That's certainly a good enough reason to take a leave. Oh Frida Congrats! I'm happy for you both," he replied truthfully. It was good news all around even though he was sure to miss her while she wasn't at the office. |
Text Cut: Skipped first paragraph "Thanks, Gavin." Frida smiled and reached over, then gave Gavin a pat on his right shoulder, "I do plan on coming back once everything is in order. Though I expect to stay home for quite some time, you can understand that right?" She couldn't hide how excited she was for much longer, and the fact that Frida would be given a break from work for the first time in ten years was becoming very appealing. Though she would certainly be working in another respect. "I hope that, when I'm home, I'll invite a couple of people over at a time. You know, to keep up with everything and so that everyone can see-" Frida stopped. Her heart felt uncomfortable for a moment, like it had been squeezed. Instead of finishing her sentence, Frida took another bite of her food and sipped her water again. "Things have been good for you too I hope...? Anything new or exciting?" |
"You're welcome," Gavin replied reaching up with a hand and covering her own as she patted his shoulder. He had been debating giving her a hug but wasn't sure how she'd respond to the action. "Of course I understand that," he assured her with a smile as he gave Frida's hand a gentle squueze before he dropped his hand back down. "That would be nice...I'd certainly be sure to keep you in the loop," he replied, watching as she stopped from what she had started to say. The charms worker almost asked her what she was going to mention but stopped himself from pressing. They might be good friends but if there was something she wanted to keep secret Frida had a right too, it wasn't like he was in her husband's place. He took a few more bites of his own meal before washing it down. "Yes...everything is going very well," Gavin answered once he had swallowed the latest bite. "Nothing too exciting but good all the same," he added with a smile. Tasha and his relationship was doing well over the months they had been together despite the date that had been held at the flat that had turned disasterous. |
Destiny walked into the restraunt. She hasd just finished work adn she was ready to meet Chris for lunch. It'd be fun. |
