Magical Forensics Lab
|
Gid headed into the lab his hands holding the box that had ended up in the conference room. He still couldn't exactly hear, though slowly it was starting to fade as the box was now closed. He hoped everyone else was also losing any curse they might have ended up with! Whatever the box with the monkeys was, it was dangerous in his opinion! He placed it in a contained area and made sure all the charms were working and stepped back from it. Merlin....he shook his head after looking at it again and left the room. He'd deal with that later after he was sure the others were doing alright! |
Aaanyone? :3 Ethan Mordaunt's here, reporting for duty. It had been a few months since he was introduced to the rest of the MLE Staff, and getting acquainted with his boss. Everyone seemed to be really serious-- scary serious if you may, but nonetheless are very committed to their work. Ethan was as dedicated as they are, and he will prove his worthiness once the ball's properly rolling. Ethan breathed in and out slowly as he walked around the laboratory doing his daily calibration of equipment, checking if each is working just fine. He too began to update CMEC records from 10 years ago, filing and re-filing each folio in a way that it's easy to access and backtrack. Ugh. Is it lunchtime yet? |
*tackles* me! Gid headed for the forensics lab as he had heard there might be a delivery and wondered if it had been brought in yet. Yawning he pushed open the door and stepped inside. It was going to be a really long day he could just feel it. Looking around he searched for a sign of the delivery and spotted Ethan instead. "Good morning" he said pleasantly. |
Yooouuuuu! Hi! :3 Quote:
Ethan was deep in thought, focusing on each folio scrutinising every detail, and filing them accordingly. Some were utterly disturbing, and he was sure he'd need a good drink after work to wash all the images down before calling it a night. Putting the last folder under the Closed Case file, Ethan turned to see his boss enter the laboratory. "Mr. Yenorin!" Well, was there a special occasion for him to grace him with his presence early this morning? "You...could definitely use a cup of coffee." Ethan grinned at his boss and shuffled across the laboratory to get them two steaming cups of caffeine. "Do you have anything for me today, sir?" he asked offering him his cup. |
For anyone!! After the brief meeting with Gid, and tidying up her new desk, Aurora had made her way to the Forensic Lab to check things out there. Notebook and pen flying by her side, she opened the door to the room. Looking around, she took notes on the things she had at her disposal to work with. Identifying certain objects weren't all that easy. Sometimes, it was more complex than just a quick look at the object and comparing to her handy notes that she kept while spending her time with the Italian Ministry. And, trust me, she was able to collect a lot of notes about charms, potential charms, curses, hexes, and the sort while she was there. However, for the most part, it seemed as if a lot of the items in this room would be a huge help to gathering even more information on some of the many objects and artifacts that she would have to look over. Hopefully, she'd be able to find a permanent job here at the ministry, or at least one to last her throughout her children's years at Hogwarts. Now that she was single, she was the only source of income for the house. Not to mention, with this job now she needed to hire a babysitter every now and then. But thankfully, she did know a few people who were more than willing to look after the twins while she was at work. If only you were still here. Aurora thought to herself while clutching the locket that her husband had given to her. |

SO, he wanted to examine this cursed amulet and get OUT of here for the day so he could go home and nap. She was out job hunting, or so she said, so he'd have the place to himself for a while. Thank goodness. He smiled politely at Aurora as he entered, levitating the amulet in front of him so he didn't have to touch it. "Hey Aurora!" he said as he entered. "What are you up to today?" he asked as he paused near one of the examination tables, dropping the amulet unceremoniously on the table. |

That amulet he brought in...there was something strange about it and she knew it too. Attention being drawn to that, she stepped closer to the table the magical artifact had been set upon. "Mind if I...?" She had asked Asher, gesturing towards the amulet curiously. Upon asking, she waved over a chair and her notebook and pen, ready if he were to say yes. |
Quote:
"Yeah, same here. This amulet has some sort of protective spell on it, nothing TOO dangerous we've determined, but something dark. I gotta get rid of it and figure out what's in it," he explained. He didn't think she'd be interested, though - although he was proved wrong momentarily, as she asked if she could see it. He nodded. "Just be careful not to touch it! You won't get cursed or anything, but a nasty shock for sure," he told her. He'd made that mistake already, and it hadn't been pleasant. |

Pulling out her wand and moving it slowly over the enchanted object, the woman had said in a calm and collected voice "Sperevelio." Blueish gray smoke surrounded the artifact like an aura of sorts. Turning to the notebook, she called out to it, stating "Find blue-gray aura" After the sentence was spoke, the notebook started flipping through pages and stopped at one of a hex which hadn't been named. Going through the list of signs and comparing them, she grinned. This was the curse on the object. "So it appears that the curse, is a very mundane and rather basic one." Silence rang through the air for a short second as Aurora had arisen from her seat and headed over to a different table, snatching a pair of leather gloves. "There are a few ways we could go about doing this to get it open." She continued. Raising an eyebrow, she had then asked "You need the amulet itself, correct?" |
I choose you, JU! x3 Perhaps the only good thing about work was the fact that he could temporarily forget about other serious stuff in his life. The thing was, his personal life was in perfect alignment with his job. Meaning, he could slip in personal investigations during his free time, and he made sure that he was left undetected. He was required to be undetectable anyway, as part of MLE's training. Things were running smoothly that day, but he thought he spoke too soon when one of the equipment bogged down. And since luck wasn't on his side that day, it had to be one of the Spectrometers in the lab. Grunting, he'd changed into a mechanic's overalls and began to disassemble the equipment with care, lighting up the inside of the huge machine with his wand and inspected its defect. Apparently, one of the parts got fried and needed replacement stat. With his hands and face greased, he'd summoned the parts he needed and got down to work. It was a good thing the laboratory wasn't in its usual busy state. The only thing that can be seen was a mass of blonde hair poking out of the table, a set of greasy hands pulling and tugging away machine parts, and the sound of the occasional cursing from the CMEC Specialist, plus the clink and clank of metal against each other. Today was going to be a long day for Ethan Mordaunt. |

Excuse him as he explored his new WORKPLACE. HELLO, MINISTRY!! ASLKNCKNSKJCKL, MERLIN help this place. Matt Solo was IN DAH HOUSE. The Forensic Lab door was tempting as Matt nearly walked past it. NEARLY, because it was like something inside it was CALLING HIS NAME. VERY LOUDLY TOO. HE HAD TO GO LOOK. EXPLORE! FIND OUT EVERYTHING HE HAD TO KNOW and the things he didn't have to know too, why not. He casually looked around to see if anyone was watching, as he didn't exactly knooow whether he was allowed in there yet or not, and sneakily opened the door and peeked in. Oh, cool, it wasn't too busy and he could always pretend like he was lost and play the innocent if he was questioned by that ONE person. Whoever that was. Matt Solo COULD be quiet when he wanted too, you know, and so he did. He silently went over to where the loner was and watched him CLOSELY. Maybe a little too close. "HEY!" The 19 year-old suddenly exclaimed rather enthusiastically. "What you up to??" He wanted to KNOW! ALL THE THINGS! TELL HIM, TELL HIM NOW!! |
Quote:
BANG! The tools that he held flew out of his hands as he banged the back of his head against the metal casing of the equipment. He drew in a sharp breath, clearly annoyed, and immediately snatched his discarded wand from the floor and pointed it at the intruder. There will be a real mess if the said intruder wasn't from Level 2. "How did you get in here, and where is your clearance badge?" he asked, as he quickly scanned the young man. The said boy was still in his teens, he presumed. "And, pray tell, who allowed kids in here?" |

As soon as the person went for his wand, Matt drew out his own, pointing it right back at the blond's grease-covered face. NUH-UH, he was NOT going to get hexed on his first day there, NO WAY. If that was how people greeted each other there, Matt was READY. Thanks for all the extra training, professor Hirsch! "I got here through the main entrance because I work here." Matt said with confidence and a hint of pride because he was an AUROR, HAH. |
