Hermione
Christmas came and flew by quickly, and before I knew it, we were back at school, working as hard as we could. Over those days, I watched Malfoy more closely than ever. He still rained torment upon me, but after, he would give me a secret smirk, almost a friendly smile. Every time this happened, a chill shot down my spine. I don’t know what he was doing to me, and I was determined to find out.
I didn’t sleep well the night before…again. Too many things were running through my mind: exams, homework assignments, and, of course, Draco Malfoy. He seemed to have been occupying my thoughts lately; not a good sign.
Now, I was talking a stroll on the Hogwarts grounds, by the lake. The snow was already melting into little patches scattered on the brown grass. All of my homework was finished early.
Wiping my forehead, which was slightly damp with perspiration, I allowed myself to breath and stop walking for a few moments in the cool, crisp air. Neither tightly nor gently, a hand grasped mine, which still lay on my forehead. I instantly jerked around to face Malfoy, who was looking at me mischievously.
“What?” I growled, trying to sound offensive. I glared at him. His hand still clutched my forearm.
“Hey, tone it down, Mione,” he said slyly and softly, moving closer to me. He had that sexy smirk on his face again, the Malfoy trademark. “Say, why don’t we try something new?” This time, his body moved even closer to mine, so close that I could feel his breath on my already flushing cheek.
Part of me wanted to pull away and tell him off for his harassment, but the other part of me agreed with him; I wanted to melt into his arms, feel his body against mine. Which one would I choose?
Malfoy, still holding on to my hand, moved it towards me. When it was at my hip, he let go and encircled his arm around my waist. “I’m a pretty darn good kisser,” he whispered, smiling seductively. His finger traced down the side of my face slowly, leaving a trail of icy shivers. Despite the portion of me that begged to pull away, I felt that I couldn’t no matter how hard I tried. I was transfixed under his gaze, which was looking down on me through long lashes. Subtly tilting my face upwards with his hand, he pressed his lips against mine, drawing me even closer to him so that our bodies were pressed together. As I opened my mouth slightly, his tongue licked mine in fervor. I could feel every particle of passion in his kiss. Soon his hands crept up my shirt, caressing my body. My hands were at the nape of his neck, entwining his blonde hair between my fingers.
Finally, I urged myself to pull away, but as I did, I could feel myself trembling. Malfoy looked at me almost hungrily, panting slightly. I knew he wanted more, but I couldn’t give it to him.
Breathing more heavily than normal, I stepped back, and walked away, feeling muddled.
“Hey, wait, Hermione!” Malfoy called.
I stopped in mid-stride. He’d just me by my first name. He must be sick. First kissing me, then calling me a name other than “Granger” or “Mudblood”. Turning around to face him, I crossed my arms across my chest. “What?” My lips still felt warm and slightly wet.
