Ahh!!! there!... they were waving!

Smiling politely, simply because now she had her license back and she got to talk to Healer Moretti-- who was really really nice and not evil, Emily was definitely in a much better mood.

"Hi," she said approaching the table and taking up the quill. She was familiar with pen's but much preferred quills. They were just... better.

Emily looked over the form. It was the same as the first time she had taken the test... only this time it seemed slightly more confusing. But she filled it out nonetheless.

"There we go," she said looking over the form one last time before pushing it back toward the woman. The bit that confused her was the number of attempts/number of fails bit. Technically this was the second time she was tested and the second time she'd passed, but it just seemed ridiculous to have 2 and 0.. so she just put one.


OOC: I put Feb as the date tested because thats when Izzy (RachieRu)'s charrie got hers and they were tested the same day (according to the RP).

Sabel didn't really want to admit it, but he was actually kind of enjoying himself. Kathrine was a lot more...sociable than she had been in the classroom, and the small banter she had enticed was refreshing.

"We'd be too scary if we were serious about everything." With a grin, Sabel glanced at the hoop and then back at his tester. "Plus, it keeps you guys on your toes."

Returning his attention to the task at hand, he forced his amusement down and his mind attentive. His eyes searched the area and the hoop that was his next task for a long moment, memorizing it to a crystal clear image like he had the first. Then, there were two consecutive pops, where he disappeared on the first and reappeared on the second in the hoop; a little close to the edge of the hoop, but still within it.

"Hi!" she greeted as she scanned the form, comparing it to the one she'd memorized. Everything seemed to be in order.

Pulling a licence out of the pile, she waved her wand over it and slid it over to the MLE woman. "All the information in order?" she asked. It was safer for her to check, cause maybe there was something Maine wouldn't notice.

"Congrats on getting your licence back!" she said, grinning. Yup. The MLE-ers actually thought or Armen as a squid. The thought was amusing.

Now... Maine was hungry!

Emily watched, and waited in anticipation, she wanted her card... NOW! STAT! C'MON!
And there it was. Joy. Emily took it in her fingertips and looked it over. It was such a relief to have it back.
"Yep, all in order," she replied, still looking at the pretty, glossy new card. This called for a celebration... perhaps the Leaky after work.

"Thank you," she said, nothing could bring her down now, NOTHING! She was free. Glancing around the room, she noticed Izzy was still here, perhaps they could walk back together?
Emily assumed she was done, so with a last smile to the transportation woman, she said, "Enjoy the rest of your day."

"That's good!" Maine grinned. The only thing better would be FOOOOD!

"Will do. You too!" she called as the MLE woman walked away.

Now Maine was sleepy too!

Katrina looked at the woman who had walked in from the doorway. What? But the woman was supposed to Apparate into the room, that was the whole point of the exam after all. She glanced the woman over, she didn't seem to have run down back here or anything and Katrina was quite hesitant in signing off the slip saying that the woman had passed the examination. "Miss Adams, regardless, if you imagined an empty spot in the room, you would've been fine," Katrina said, feeling a twinge of guilt. "I'm sorry but I cannot pass you if you didn't apparate back into the room," she said, feeling awfully guilty now. But really, Katrina was just doing her job and administering the examination in a fair way and it was only fair if the woman didn't get to pass because she had done the task wrong.

Sadly, there were no half-credit for this task...

"You'll receive another owl when you can take the Apparition examination again though, so you can expect that from me or another examiner sometime soon," Katrina added quickly with a smile.

After testing Emily he definately needed a break. He had gone out to lunch for a bit and when he returned he heard vaguely that Katrina had had to fail someone. Considering this a tiny victory for Magical Transportation, Armen was in a much better mood walking in to the testing center.

And his next tester was here. One of the people he recognized from the lesson they had hosted not too long ago. He consulted his file, Dean. "Over here." he said raising his arm and calling him over to where he was standing. They needed to get this over and done with after all. "Alright you ready to test?" he asked with a sigh.

Recard's voice alerts him and the younger man sighs heavily when he realised that the Magical Transportation Head was calling him. So, Recard is the one to test him after all. Talk about bad luck! Dean approaches the other man, forcing a bloody wide smile on his face. "Good afternoon, Mr. Recard," he greets while trying to get a hold of himself.

His grin couldn't get any wider or he might tear off his cheeks. With hands in pockets, Dean confidently responds. "Definitely."

Wasn't that the point of the Law Enforcement though? To be intimidating? At least that's what she always imagined them to be when she was a mere student. They seemed to be these scary guys who performed dangerous tasks, risking their lives and their own safety for others. "We're not ballerinas. We don't need to be kept on our toes..." Katherine replied, continuing the playful banter.

Watching him perform the second class... almost missing it... she nodded though, when he succeeded, putting another check by his name. "Now. For your final task, you'll need to apparate someplace else in the Ministry ... another floor besides Level Six, and then back here again."

That wasn't exactly the reaction Sapphira was expecting to get. The last time she had been in an Apparition, back when she's in 6th year, she apparated and bumped into someone else. That happened again last year. And now, when she's trying to avoid bumping into someone, her tester said that she's doing it wrong. It seems that people has different things in mind, eh?

"It's okay," she said. "I was kind of expecting that. Based on my experience, it's better to appear at doorways to avoid collision. But, oh well. I'll see you around, then."

What was the guy acting so nice for? He was here in Magical Transportation taking an Apparition exam he shouldn't have to be taking and he is acting happy? Acting with sickly sweet happiness was Armen's thing, not some guy from MLE!

"Yes well, let's begin shall we?" Armen flicked his wand at the floor close by and a wooden hoop appeared. "Please go ahead and Apparate into this hoop."

Was it him or Recard looked annoyed? That wasn't like him at all! The Magical Transportation Head was often seen smiling. If something had gone wrong for him, then it's good. That could mean they might have advantages against the Cult.

Hands still in pocket, the new patrol officer smirked before he disappeared with a crack, and appeared standing in the wooden hoop a few feet away after a split second. Woops! Dean was surely wasn't determined enough which explained the crack.

Looking over his clipboard, the department head watched the MLE newbie apparate from the spot he was in to the hoop. "Uncessarily loud departing sound, but it is ok." he made a check mark.

"Now we are going to have you apparate to the hoop over there," he pointed about 10 to 12 feet away, close to the far wall of the room. He didn't feel too much animosity towards this one, it must have been that he wasn't all the cultured in the MLE just yet. So a splinching was not what he was hoping for.

The cracking sound was fine for Dean, but he hoped that he won't splich himself. He passed cleanly back at Hogwarts, he should be able to do it now. Furthermore, he had been apparating all the time. At least before he joined the MLE and got his licence froze.

The blue eyes glanced to the hoop Recard was pointing at. Next to the wall. Right. Dean disapparated again, but this time with just a popping sound, and appeared in the hoop about ten feet or so from his disapparating spot. "Was there a cracking sound again?" he called out cluelessly.

Armen let his hand hit his forehead as the man finished Apparating and then asked, like a child, if he had made the cracking noise. "No..." he said dryly and then made another check mark on the sheet. Despite being annoyingly present, the kid was actually going to pass if he could manage the next task.

"So the last thing I will need you to do for me is to Apparate somewhere in the Ministry, not on level six and then come back to the hoop you are standing in now. Think you can handle that?" he said looking at him from where he stood, arms crossed.

OCC: Just post disapparating from this thread and then post apparating into another thread appearing and then disappearing in the same post and then post back here. I will post in between, no worries. :D

One hand on his waist, Dean smiled as Recard told him that there wasn't a crack. Then, he listened to the next procedure. "Sure thing," he nodded before he disapparated with a cracking sound again.

Waiting.

That was what Armen had to do at the moment. He needed to get some more tests done today before he left for the evening but he was hoping that this kid wouldn't take too long to come back or get distracted by a shiney doorknob or something.

He crossed his arms and leaned against a desk. Siigh.

...And he apparated back into the testing centre with a pop. Good thing he didn't decide to explore the first level or he'd made Recard more annoyed. "I'm back!" he called out while grinning.

Roxi walked into the room, eager to take her apparition test. Not that she was letting her eagerness show. Nope, she had a polite smile on her face as she waited for a tester to call her over. She leaned against the wall, arms and legs crossed.

Katrina did feel bad and smiled weakly. "Most definitely, we shall see you again soon," she replied before taking note of it on her clipboard. Another one down, the first fail so far. There were probably going to be more though, so no worries, right?

Katrina glanced at her clipboard again then noticed a woman walk in. Katrina walked over with a smile. "Welcome to Level Six's Apparition center," Katrina greeted. "I am Katrina Rayne and I will be testing you today," Katrina added, tucking her clipboard under and arm and sticking her hand out for the woman to shake.

Roxi uncrossed her arms and legs and stood up straight as a woman walked over. "Hello, I'm Roxi Carter," she answered politely, shaking Katrina's hand. Roxi was relieved that this tester seemed nice. Last time she had taken her apparition test, the person testing her had been a real piece of work!

After finishing his sigh and taking a look around to see the other testers' progress, Armen was plesantly suprised to see that the MLE dude was able to Apparate back.

"Ah well, I see you didn't get lost. Good." He made one last check mark on his notepad and then turned back to the man. "Well you've passed. Now if you could kindly just step over to Healer Moretti and she will check you before you head over to the secretary's desk where they will issue you your license." He didn't want to give the guy too many plesantries. "Good day."

Katrina smiled back, it was getting clearer that not all MLE employees wanted to destroy everyone. "Lovely, Miss Carter, now, let's get started, shall we?" Katrina said. She had completely given up on vanishing her hoops now. She walked over about a foot away from the wooden hoop.

"Miss Carter, the first part of the examination is the easiest part, as it is with most exams," Katrina started. "And the first part of the examination is fairly simple, you just have to Apparate into the wooden hoop right there, about a foot away," she said. "Would you like a demonstration or can you do it yourself?" Katrina asked, tilting her head to a side just slightly.

Dean looked like he'd hop onto Recard when the Head Magical Transportation told him he passed. His smile was wide enough to tear off his cheeks. "Thank you! Have a nice day," he said as Dean grabbed Recard's hand and shook it vigorously before he turned his back on him towards the healer. That was when his smile immediately disappeared. Instead, a frown formed on his face as he wiped his hand with a handkerchief.

Roxi followed Katrina to the hoops that were lying on the floor. She nodded at the the instructions and said a polite "No, thank you, I think I've got it," at the suggestion of a demonstration. Internally though, she was thinking A demonstration? What am I, a child!? She didn't let that show on her face, though. Instead, Roxi shook that thought off and focused on apparating into the nearest hoop. She disappeared with a soft *pop* and reappeared in the center of the hoop with another soft *pop*. She stood there, waiting for next instruction.

Sabel turned a little in the hoop, eyeing his proximity to the edge. He might want to work on that. "Pity, I'm sure you'd all look lovely in tutus."

His smile returned to the tester. It was nice forgetting she had been one of the instructors in the practical exam room, to forget that she worked for Recard. All in all, she seemed to be quite pleasant. There was the brief tickle to the back of his mind that there were probably several people under Recard, Charles, and Borr's employment and maybe even under the Cult, that were like that. It was a true fact, and one that messed up his perceptions on things a great deal.

And given he needed to focus on what he was doing, he shoved those thoughts to the side for later. Nodding at the instructions, he tried to think of a place he knew well, that would be easy for him to apparate into for the simple sake of getting the exam done and not getting hurt doing it.

The second floor would have to do. Foyer. He had been there enough times to know exactly what it looked like and to draw up a decent enough floor plan in his mind. The center of the foyer was his best bet, and with a moment more concentration, he gave his wand a light flick. With a 'pop', he was gone from the room.

Katrina smiled in approval as the woman Apparated into the center of the hoop. "Great," she said, before pointing at another hoop, about 12 feet away. "Now can you please Apparate into the hoop over there?" Katrina asked. She walked over, waiting for the woman to pop into the hoop like she had done before.

"Okay." Roxi focused on the second hoop. She disappeared from the hoop she was standing in with a soft *pop* and reappeared in the second hoop with another soft *pop*. She was slightly off center, but still in the hoop. She gave herself a mental pat on the back for a job well done.

Errr... someone did not look like a happy camper all of the sudden. Wasn't this the same man that Lily had just watched HUG Armen Recard? No? Err...

"Congratulations on passing." She smiled at him anyway, despite his grumpypants look, "I just have to check your vitals. Quick and painless, I promise."

A sudden smile spreaded across Dean's face once again. "Thanks," he said cheerfully as if he just won a lottery. "Sure... Do what you have to do." As long as there's no injections involved. Dean nodded as he smiled again at the healer. What a mood swing he has!

Nodding, Katrina smiled. "Lovely, so the last task is to Apparate anywhere in the Ministry except Level Six and then Apparate right back into this room," she said. Katrina hoped she would be able to do that. "And if you can manage that, I'll pass you and you can get your license," Katrina added, just so the woman knew.

"OK." Roxi picked a spot on level two and focused on it. She disappeared from the hoop with, of course, a small, soft *pop*…

*pop* Roxi appeared back in the first hoop, completely whole. Not even a chipped fingernail. Completely and totally there. She looked at the woman testing her, waiting for her to tell Roxi she had passed so could move on.

Katrina smiled at the woman. "Congratulations, Miss Carter. All you need to do now, is have yourself checked over by Miss Moretti and then you can go get your license with either Miss LeBlanc or Miss Jordan," Katrina said, before gesturing in the general direction the woman should go. And with that, she made the wooden hoops disappear with the flick of her wand.

Dacs walked into the apparition examination with her usual cross-me-in-the-wrong-direction-i'll-hex-you swagger. Dressed in black cigarette-pants, a black slim fit long sleeved button down shirt and with black ankle boots she was not in the mood to make nice with anyone. Her fierce red hair was swept back in a neat ponytail. She went over to who she figured was her examiner and said,"Hi. Here to get this over with." in a low tone that was more than tinged with resentment and contempt.

She was more than annoyed with the shenanigans that Armen was putting everyone through. Even his own employees. Making a mental note to keep her hot tongue in check not be too hotheaded she dipped her hands in her pockets, to relax.

Roxi said a quick "Thank you," to the woman who had been testing her and walked to Ms. Moretti to get checked over. Though Roxi knew the healer wouldn't find anything splenched. She'd feel it if she had. Splenching, she knew, was supposed one of the most painful things in the world.

After the last guy he was hoping the next person to come in and test for their Apparition lisence was older and as mature as someone under Van's employement. But as the door opened and a younger man walked in, the Transportation Head could have slammed his head against the Secretaries' desk.

"Alright you can come over here to test Mr--" he checked his clip board that magically changed for each tester. "Chosen. I will be testing you today."

"You're welcome," Katrina replied before glancing at the doorway waiting for her next examinee to enter. She was getting quite used to it.

Upon seeing the woman enter, and hearing how... upset? moody? angry? No, irritated the woman seemed to be, Katrina managed to plaster a smile on her face. "Of course Miss Dacosta," Katrina said, struggling to keep that smile on her face. It was quite hard to, especially since the woman was so rude. "I'm Katrina Rayne and I will be testing you today, the first task will be to Apparate into that hoop," Katrina said, before conjuring a hoop a foot away from the two of them. "If you need a demonstration, I'd be glad to give you one," Katrina added.

Dacs gave her a withering look and said, "No, I don't need one thanks." She disapparated from in front of the woman with a loud crack and apparated into the hoop she had conjured as a target point. Standing in the middle of the hoop Dacs looked at her and said,"Next."

She really wished the woman would stop with the fake smiling, in fact,"Can you do me a favour and take that fake smile off? It's unnerving and distracting."she said in a quiet enough tone so that only she and the tester could hear.

Recard. Recard was his tester. REALLY?

But Legend couldn't complain. He didn't know the man personally. Only what all the other Aurors and MLE employees had said about him. "Sure." He murmured, making his way over toward the Transportation Head. "I've never taken the test before." But he probably knew that right? Legend was just speaking because he was nervous, he did NOT want to splinch.

Well. Lily was glad to see that the foul mood had disappeared. It had only been for Recard, apparently. She found this rather funny, but did a good job at not laughing.

After a quick check, she nodded, "Good to go. Congratulations."

And Lily was not expecting anyone to turn up splinched, even if she did have a bag full of potions ready in case it did happen, she had faith that everyone here was perfectly capable of apparating (and wouldnt give Recard the satisfaction of failing)

"Hello dear. Just need to do a quick check up." Lily smiled at the woman.

Roxi was pretty sure she wasn't splinched, seeing as she wasn't screaming in pain. But she also knew that the healer had to check, for record purposes or whatever. "Hello," she replied pleasantly, smiling. And let the healer check her over.

...And again, Dean felt like hopping onto the poor healer when she told him he was fine. "Thank you!!" he shook the healer's hand vigorously before he practically half-prancing towards the counter. Dean seriously can't wait to get his licence back any longer.

Katrina took note of how loud the woman had Disapparated and kept up the smile. It was only right to smile even if one dislike the other, or something of that nature. It was also along the lines of being polite. Katrina placed a new hoop about twelve feet away. "Right, so just Apparate into that hoop," Katrina said.

Stop... smiling? "Yes, and so is your attitude, so once you lose that, I'll stop smiling," Katrina replied coolly. With the nasty looks Miss Dacosta was shooting her, it was clear that she didn't like Katrina - why? Probably because she was in the Department of Magical Transportation. Katrina didn't exactly see what was wrong with smiling either, she liked smiling. "Now, Miss Dacosta, it would be appreciated if you would just Apparate into that hoop."

Dacs gave a low dark chuckle and said,"Touché. But that..." before disapparating from the first hoop and apparating into the second."..is as far as you're going to get. It's not that I don't like you, it's just that all this is absolutely preposterous. I mean it insults my hard work and qualifications that half of you other ministry workers could dream of having. Just take it personally. I'm just ticked off." she continued from the second.

She stood with her weight on one booted leg and said,"Next.", as she gave a tired sigh. Her work had doubled since being grounded by an irrationally, emotional man. She was actually tired most days when she got home. Coffee was her life saver and her intake almost tripled since.

Katrina was tempted to roll her eyes. But she wouldn't. Because she was nice. She nodded as she listened to Miss Dacosta, kinda, spill her guts out. Not exactly, but she was talking, and she supposed that was something good, right? And she had no attitude, at least, not a huge one as she spoke right then and there. She just smiled and nodded her head. Katrina understood how tiring it must be to go through all of this again because one person thought they weren't as great as they could be. And that one person was her boss, so she couldn't exactly say anything bad in particular.

"I'm sorry," Katrina simply said, because she had nothing else to say. She glanced down at her clipboard and cleared her throat. "So the last task is to Apparate to somewhere in the Ministry other than Level Six, and Apparate right back into this room," Katrina said with a small smile. Because since the woman had told her to stop smiling, and she had told her to cut the attitude, and she had kinda done that, she would kinda stop smiling. Childish, but it seemed fair.

Dacs smoothed her hand over her already sleek hair and said,"No worries. Ok, I'll be right back." Dacs disapparated with a wink and a cracking sound. She felt she would get some coffee from the office.

Dacs popped back in the second hoop from where she had disapparted from earlier with the two steaming cups of coffee in hand. "Thought you could use one of these. Don't worry, there's only coffee in it." she said as she walked toward the woman.

Offering it to her Dacs said,"I'm not evil, just mean with a touch of nasty attitude when I'm annoyed.", with a smirk.

Katrina liked this one. A lot. She had come back with not one cup of coffee... but two. And one of them was for her! Katrina smiled happily and took one. "Thank you Miss Dacosta," Katrina said politely, not even thinking twice that the coffee could've been poisoned before taking a sip of it. She actually didn't think at all before taking the drink. Katrina scribbled down on her clipboard and took another sip of the caffeinated drink.

"I never said you were evil," Katrina pointed out. "We all have our on and off days," Katrina said. Which was what Katrina was going to say in response to Miss Dacosta's attitude. "Anyways, congratulations, you've passed, just get checked over by Miss Moretti and then you can fill out the form over there and you're good to go," Katrina said. She hadn't actually thought any of them would fail... except that one... but she didn't doubt the MLE, they were scary and they were able to Apparate. "And thank you, for the coffee, I definitely needed one," Katrina said, holding her cup up and smiling. She ran on coffee.

"I never said I wasn't."she said before Dacs inclined her head to her and said,"No problem. I've never had an idiot boss but I can imagine it's tiring. Just gimme a call if you need anything." as she started before she turned back and said,"Thanks."

Armen could feel the tension from the boy, yeah boy the guy was hardly above school age, as he mentioned he would be the tester. Smiling evilly, Recard continued to survey him as he began to speak. Oh so he wasn't one of the ones he had insulted after suspending MLE's lisences? He hadn't even taken the exam before.

"Oh so a first timer, eh?" He said straightening up. He wouldn't be too hard on this one then, it wasn't his fault. He hadn't shown disreguard for the safety of the Wizarding World with slow reacting times for crime. "Ok well if you just stand over here and then," he flicked his wand at a spot on the floor about 3 feet away where a wooden hoop appeared. "please Apparate into that hoop."

"Yeah."He murmured quietly, his mouth had suddenly gone dry. Legend sighed. It was NOTHING. Really. He had practiced apparating a couple of times, and he just couldn't let Armen see him all rattled.

He followed Recard to the place where he told him to stand.

Wait. He was only suppose to apparate in that hoop? That hoop couldn't be more than 3 feet away. He grinned, his normal confidence coming back. Shaking his head a bit to clear away his thoughts, Legend's eyes focused on the hoop. Right, the three D's.

It took him a couple more seconds for him to get the image in his head completely. With a very faint pop, he apparated from the spot he was at into the hooping, appearing with another faint pop. Looking down at his feet Legend grinned. Look Recard BOTH of them were in the hoop. "This alright?"

Katherine smiled at his snarky comment which added to her not being ballerina one. Kids these days. As he disappeared from the spot, she made another check mark on her parchment to indicate he hadn't left any parts with him that room, at least. What's to say whether he'd come back intact was another story....

And after a few moments, she looked up to the sound of another 'pop'. Oh good, he had decided to return to them after all. Looking him over, she at least didn't see anything wrong. Not even his eyebrows or fingernails seemed scathed, which was good news, she supposed, but the Healer would check it out to be certain.

"Congratulations, Mr Dakest." Katherine said, after a long silence. Make him wait. "You've passed by my standards, now just take this form over to Healer Moretti and have her ... look over you, just to be sure. And then you'll just need to fill out some technical details." Smiling at him, she looked around to see if there were others still waiting.

Oh, well there she was. And she didn't think he had lost any pieces either. That was good.

With a grin, Sabel gave his shirt a little brush off, as if it had acquired some dust throughout the process, before stepping forward to take the form. He gave the woman a small little bow before accepting the paper, straightening with a playful smile. "We wouldn't want any parts randomly dropping throughout the Ministry, now would we?"

With a small wave and thank you, Sabel turned his attention to finding the good healer. At least he hoped she was good at what she did. Morretti. The name sounded familiar.

He stepped up close to where the Healer was, but not close enough that it would interfere with her current patient.

After a quick check over, Lily nodded at the woman. "You're all fine and free to carry on, dear."

WELL. Someone was seriously glad this was over. Lily half expected to see the man running out of the room once he finished in here. She smiled at him, "You're welcome!"

Lily turned her eyes onto the next person and smiled at someone she recognized. "Hello there Sabel. Congratulations on passing." Again, there was no doubt about it.

"Thank you," Roxi told the healer as she walked over to where she had to fill out her papers. She joined the queue and waited patiently. Although she did hope to get this part done quickly. After all, how long did it take to fill out some papers?

Sabel blinked at the woman before stepping forward. So, she was supposed to be familiar: he wasn't going loopy in the head with all the jumping around he'd just done.

"Healer Morretti..." His head tilted a little of its own accord in thought. "You patched me up my first....well I guess it was fourth...year at Hogwarts, didn't you?"

By Merlin's beard, Hogwarts was always going to shadow his footsteps.

Maine was seriously hungry. Eyeing the MLE-ers there, she cursed Armen mentally for making her skip lunch.She was just going to head to the Break Room when a very excited person planted himself in front of the counter. He was a Dean something?

Beaming widely, she sat herself back down and pulled out a form from under the desk. " 'allo!" she greeted, oblivious to the fact that there was a pen in her hair.



Placing the quill and inkpot back onto the desk she opened all the drawers in a frantic search for her pen. Wait, was her hair in a twist before she got here? Nope. It was down. Maine remembered Gabby yelling at her.

Pulling the pen out of her hair, she offered a triumphant smile as her hair unraveled itself. "Pen or quill?" she asked, tone light.



Ooooh, another person! Now, why hadn't Maine noticed? Right... she was starving.

"Gooood afternoon!" she beamed, pulling out another form. And another quill. "I'll just need you to fill in this form... And I'll get your licence right out."

And then, she'd go have lunch. She was utterly and completely starved.

"Good afternoon," Roxi replied, smiling. Someone was in a good mood! She took the form and the quill and filled it out.



She handed the completed form and the quill over, said "Have a nice day!" and left the room.

OOC: I put April as the date tested because she started testing in April. :)

Dean smiled at the woman as she unravelled her hair. "Quill," he said dabbing the quill several times into the ink before he filled in the form.

"Here you go," he pushed to the form nearer to the woman before putting the quill back into the ink bottle. Now, Dean would like to return back to his office because he had paperworks to finish.

Maine smiled at the woman as she filled in the form ad handed it over. Placing the quill back into the inkpot, she pulled out a blank licence and was just about to wave her wand over it when...

SHE WAS LEAVING?!

Waving her wand over it wordlessly, she put it down before standing up. "Miss," she checked the form. "Carter? Don't you want your licence back?" she asked, an impish smile on her face.

Re-twisting her hair, she secured it again with the pen before turning to look at the man. Oh, he'd finished! Taking the form from him, Maine pulled out a black licence and waved her wand over it.

Now-complete licence in hand, she smiled winningly and held out the licence. "Congratulations, Mr." check the licence. "Benson."

"Of course I do!" Roxi replied, hurrying back into the room. What had she been thinking?! Of course she had stay and wait for her license! "Forgive me, don't know what I was thinking," she said, blushing. Oh she was never going to live this down!

Watching the empty black licence being charmed, Dean couldn't helpt but to smile. He did expect to go through the lesson successfully. Much to his surprise, he went through it without hexing Recard. Mind that, he left his wand in his drawer. Or that bloody Cultist would've been transfigured into a squid. Fits his nickname. He chuckled a little.

Right hand accepting the licence, Dean smiled at the woman who seemed to be responsible in registering appartion licences. "Thank you, ma'am," he said formeally before turning his back on her and headed for the door. Albeit he looked calm, Dean was probably the happiest man on earth right now.

Maine laughed lightly, waving the wand over the license. Checking the information, she made sure nothing was wrong before handing it to the woman.

"It's alright," she smiled. "I don't know what I think of most of the time..."

Then, as she remembered that Andie was sitting next to her, she smiled. "Were you going for lunch, by any chance?" Cause Maine was starving, and wouldn't mind talking to someone who wasn't oblivious to Borr's antics.

"You're welcome!" she beamed, getting up and slinging her bag over her shoulder. Turning to look at Armen, she waved.

"I'll be back in half-an hour," she said, grinning before pulling the pen out of her hair and giving it to Andie.

Whew! At least she didn't think Roxi was completely stupid. As the word lunch was mentioned, Roxi's stomach rumbled. "I was, actually," she replied. "You wanna come?" Sounded like a good idea to her.

Smiling, Maine walked out of the room with her bag over one shoulder and sending a mental image of the cafe with colored umbrellas, disappeared with an incredibly quiet pop.

Lily smiled. It was always nice to be remembered. Even though she had a good talent for such things, not everyone did. "Yes, I did." She motioned for him to step closer so she could carry on the the check up and get him on to the next station, where she was sure he would rather be.

"I hear you're doing well with your training." She added. With having Van AND Damien around, she did hear things. Though it was mostly only the good and far less of the bad.

A slow nod left Sabel as he stepped forward by her indication, his attention distracted by the rather sharp and crisp memories from what seemed to be a lifetime ago. "Thank you...for that." He was sure he had thanked her at the time, but extra gratitude never went amiss.

He gave a startled blink as her next question brought him back to the present, a faint smile spreading onto the corner of his lips. "I...suppose so. One more year." Provided he didn't pull a similar stunt to this year and get suspended again.

"Are you...still at Hogwarts?" He was more interested to hear news from the school than he was for the apparation exam. At least at the current moment.

"I was gonna but someone's going to end up finishing the exam and one of us has to be here." That was true Andie wouldn't like to see Armen's angry side. "I'll get something from the breakroom later... OR could get one of the people taking the exam to get me something... there's an idea..." Andie laughed she was kind of jealous sitting here watching people appaparate when she couldn't herself YET!

Breathing in through her nose and out through her mouth, Kurumi made her way into the practical exam testing center feeling JUST a little more relaxed now that she had completed the first half of her apparition exam process. Seriously, Treyen had told her not to worry because 'it wasn't that bad' but that was like telling a fifth year that taking OWL's 'wasn't that bad.' Easy for someone to say after the fact and after they already had their results, but for those who were still in the process and completely unsure of what was waiting for them, yes, it WAS that bad.

Running her fingers through her long black hair for a few moments while she mustered up some of that Gryffindor courage people were telling her that she had, Kurumi took one last deep breath in before speaking. "Excuse me, I'm here to take the practical portion of my apparition exam."

"Kurumi Hollingberry, this is you, correct?" The 24-year old Apparition Practical Examiner asked whilst she skimmed through the paper that had been forwarded to her which withheld a few information about the young woman standing in front of her. A fresh one, new, and possibly inexperienced. The kind that needed watching over.

Fetching a clipboard from the table, Eliza walked around the desk and approached the examinee. "So, this is your first Apparition exam." That wasn't a question for it's what on the information provided. She gave the girl the once over before letting a brief smile pass her lips. Hopefully she won't have to use her basic knowledge on healing for this one. "If you would please follow me." She nodded towards the center of the room and gestured that this Ms. Hollingberry follow her.

Kurumi swallowed hard and nodded her head in response. Was it just her or did this woman not seem the most friendly of sorts? Just her luck. Treyen would be hearing about this.

Oh, wait, she got a smile. Sort of. Kurumi wasn't sure what to make of that smile. Professor Scabior sometimes smiled at her in lessons and those were never good smiles.

Not sure if she should reply or not, Kurumi just nodded her head again at the mention of this being her first attempt at this exam. Yeah, it wouldn't have been needed if they had offered lessons at Hogwarts while she had been a student. Shaking her head to try and rid herself of these thoughts, she cleared her throat and took a deep breath as she followed the woman.

She didn't need to say anything yet....right?

Jade said goodbye to Gabi before leaving and entering the practical exam testing center. She saw that the young girl who had been with her was here. Jade walked up to the examiner and said, "Hello. I'm Jade Gemstone and I am here for my practical exam. What do I need to do?"

She was only getting nods in response? She was sure that the girl was capable of speech. Eliza couldn't help a brow from rising. One of the scaredy squirrels. Fairly amusing but she understood how the young ones felt. Not that she had problems when she first apparated. In fact, her examiner had described that she was 'exceptionally impressive'.

But all the same, she lead the way and pivoted to face the girl in a professional manner. She looked down at the clipboard once before speaking up. "Before we start, let me introduce myself Miss Hollingberry." She hugged the clipboard to her chest. "I am Eliza Tohsaka and I will be your examiner for the practical portion of your test." Introducing herself seemed to be an automatic move to her now, every time she had to test someone.

"I trust that your are familiar with the 3 D's of Apparition? Please do keep those in mind as we carry on." It was necessary that this girl not only know, but comprehend the said concepts...or she might end up being splinched. "If you have questions, you can ask me now."

Oh, there was another one.

Eliza promptly put a hand up to stop Miss Hollingberry from speaking just yet while she turned her attention to the new arrival. "Hello Miss Gemstone. If you can just wait for a short while and take a seat," she pointed the bench available for occupancy of those taking the exam. "..I'll finish with Miss Hollingberry here first and then I'll be up to accommodate you." The exam shouldn't take more than fifteen minutes if no problem arises. Gah..It was very tiring sometimes, being the only around for this. Apparently, their Department Head and her Senior were at Hogwarts right now, her other colleagues in the Apparition Team took leaves. So yes, just her.

Suppressing a sigh, she reverted her attention back to the Hogwarts graduate. Okay...now the girl can speak if she wishes to.

Stopping rather suddenly when the woman pivoted to face her, Kurumi bit down nervously on her lower lip as the woman introduced herself and bowed somewhat shyly. The Gryffindor sort of wished that the woman had introduced herself earlier because it sure would have made this brief walk a little less awkward. "Ms. Tohsaka," Kurumi said softly after a formal bow.

3 D's of Apparition? Yep. Familiar with those. She had had to write about them on her written exam after all and it DID seem rather foolish to show up for this exam not knowing anything about them. Only Kurumi didn't voice this out loud and instead just nodded her head in confirmation.

Questions? Oooooooooh just one perhaps. "Um...Ms. Tohsaka...how many attempts do I have to apparate properly before...before I am asked to come back and try again?"

See Treyen?! She didn't use the 'f' word.




Meaning the word failure

Jade nodded at the woman in charge, "Alright. Good luck!" She said to the young girl as she headed over to take her seat. She really hoped that it wouldn't take too long. She had to get back to work.

Good luck, hmm? Yes, these two would definitely be needing that.

There. The girl was talking, speaking like she's supposed to. Yes, people had to verbalize their thoughts especially in times like this.

On to her question. Attempts? Eliza couldn't stop one side of her lip from curling upward. This was VERY amusing. It seemed as though she was already thinking that she was going to fail this test. "Just one, Miss Hollingberry." My, my, my. Was this scaring her off? It was best to explain how they will go through with this, yes? So they can get started and thus, finish quickly too. "Actually, the exam for new applicants is divided into three parts according to difficulty and distance." Easy, Average and of course, the best part, Difficult. Yes. "You will be graded correspondingly in each portion and it will later then be added to determine if you have reached the standards." If she does, she'd get her license. If not, then....NOT.

"Let us begin now, shall we? Just listen carefully to my instructions and you'll be good to go."

With a flick of her wand, Eliza conjured hoops out of thin air and it settled without sound on the floor. "Here's what you will do." She turned her attention back to the girl. "Step into the first hoop and then apparate into the third one." Just like that. As easy as one, two, three..

Kurumi swallowed and nodded, mostly just to show that she was listening and had heard what the woman had said. It was just taking some time to process and register what she had just been told. One try. One chance. Which meant less times messing up. Glass had to be half full, right?

Three parts. One attempt each. Three times apparating. Right. She could do this.

"Understood," Kurumi nodded again, her hands clenched in tight fists by her side as the three hoops appeared and settled on the floor. Slowly, Kurumi stepped into the first hoop and then looked back towards the woman for a brief moment before looking back at the third hoop and resting her violet gaze there for several moments. Tapping her feet against the ground within the hoop a few times, Kurumi closed her eyes and envisioned herself doing the same thing in the third hoop. Slowly, her feet ceased their movement and she once again visualized herself doing the same in the third hoop. Third hoop. Third hoop. Third hoop.

Taking one last slow deep breath, Kurumi moved one foot back and turned quickly, instantly feeling her body somewhat twist and swirl until it suddenly stopped. Afraid to open her eyes at first, Kurumi took a deep breath and willed herself to open her eyes and look down at the ground. She was just a TAD off center, but certainly IN the third hoop and without leaving any bits of her behind.

Smiling, mostly to herself, Kurumi ventured a gaze over towards the woman.

So...that meant that she had passed the first part, right? If it hadn't been good enough then the rest of the exam would be called off, yeah?

She really needed to just stop panicking inside of her head and get the job done....which was sort of a cheating task if you asked her. She had to apparate TWICE in this portion of the exam as opposed to just once like she had just done. So, now she was having to apparate at least 4 times. More than she had anticipated. She would be grumbling about all this later...just not now where it could count against her. After a few moments, she took a small step back with one foot and performed a tight turn.

Next thing Kurumi knew her body felt unbalanced and as though she were going to fall backwards...down a flight of stairs! EEK!

Leaning forward, Kurumi took a few stumbling steps forward to catch her balance, but did so with some sort of grace. Phew. Part one accomplished. She took a quick glance down at herself to make sure that all her bits and pieces were still there - which they were, thankfully - and then turned around to look down the staircase and at the spot where she had just been and now needed to return to.

She didn't take too long visualizing this time and had spun around on spot and vanished again. Reappearing with a loud POP, she quickly gave herself a look over and was once again thankful to find that there was no blood. Good. No fainting.

Jade looked up as the young girl had finished her exam. She hoped that she had passed with flying colors. But now it was Jade's turn. She got up and followed Eliza to a giant color wheel that was embedded in the floor. After stepping on the yellow triangle, Eliza told her to apparate to the blue-violent then red and back to yellow. That was easy enough.

Jade closed her eyes picturing herself appear on the blue-violent triangle. She focused all her energy on it and a millisecond later she felt her body turn and warp through the apparition. When she opened them and looked down she was on the blue-violent triangle. Not wanting to waste anymore time (she had no idea how Eliza was tracking her), she quickly focused on the red triangle in her minds eye and slightly turned her body into the turn-warp of the apparition. Not even a second later, she saw that she was standing on the red. And now for the grand finish--she focused on the yellow triangle and a turn-warp apparition second later she was back on the yellow.

When she was done she glanced over at Eliza and asked, "Is that it?"

So far so good....good, Kurumi liked the sound of that and her shoulders relaxed a bit more as well. She could SO do this. After all, if she was able to take care of dragons a little apparition shouldn't be any trouble.

Once one put things in perspective or something.

"Understood," she said, giving the woman a firm nod and then taking a few steps to the side to give herself some room. The problem for her right now was that she was rather unfamiliar with the Ministry. She didn't know what any of the other floors looked like and therefore it was going to be very VERY difficult to actually use the 3 D's this time around. Which is why a momentary look of panic overtook her pale features as she tried to reason this portion out.

Okay, so she had received a tour of the Ministry before...but that had all gone by so quickly that she hardly remembered it. So going to a different department was out of the question. She needed somewhere she had been to recently, today. Somewhere she had spent enough time to have a semi decent picture in her mind.

AHA!

Closing her eyes, Kurumi focused all her energy on a specific location, spun around on the spot and with a loud CRACK was gone.

Understood, she said. Hmm. Eliza watched as the girl went away with another Pop! before turning to her watch, taking note of the time and jotting it down on Miss Hollingberry's practical results on the clipboard. She hoped the girl remembered that there was a five-minute limit and that no splinching of any kind would take place.

Next examinee.

Merlin, she was so hungry. Can these people hurry up? Tilting her head, she watched closely how the woman had apparated from and to the colors she indicated. Hmm. Average speed. She wrote that down on the remarks portion too, along with the observation that the woman needed to close her eyes before going off. As their new Department Head had emphasized, several factors have to be considered during grading and there were a lot of them. With that, Eliza straightened up and cleared her throat.

Is that it?, she heard the woman say which made an eyebrow rise automatically. Too eager to finish, wasn't she? Well, Eliza would love for this session to be over likewise, had it not been for the fact that it wasn't yet.

"No. There's one more task you have to perform." This woman better hurry at it, too. "You will have to apparate to somewhere in the Ministry, except on this floor and disapparate back here again. Take no more than five minutes to do this. And please avoid splinching yourself." Reminders and such. She would always have to tell every examinee the same thing that sometimes she felt like a broken tape. "You may begin."

Jade wryly smiled at Eliza, she had to do more? Well, she should have expected it since the new regulations came into force.

"So just apparate to another place in the Ministry and then back again?" She repeated the instructions just to make sure that she got it. It seemed too easy. Oh well she had better just get it over with.

Wanting to go to a place where she frequently went to outside her own department, she didn't even have to think hard before she could see the MLE Reception and Waiting area in her mind's eye. She could see the reception desk and waiting chairs quite clearly.

Jade focused on herself reappearing there and focused her magic into doing the apparition. She leaned into the turn-wrap of the apparition and unlike beforehand--this time she completely disappeared from the room with a loud CRACK!

POP!

Kurumi reappeared in the room in precisely the same spot she had vanished from only a few minutes earlier - and most certainly under 5 minutes. She was probably closer to being under 3 and a half minutes actually, but she hadn't been checking the time.

Nervously, Kurumi glanced down at herself and fidgeted slightly as she did. To her relief her body was completely unharmed and not a hair was out of place. She pulled down on her skirt and took a quick peek down at her shoes before glancing back at her examiner.

So...did she pass? *fidget fidget*

"Yes." Eliza replied, shooting the young woman a look. What did she want? More? She only fought the urge not to roll her eyes and instead, transferred her weight from her left foot to the right.

As with every other examinee, she watched how the woman went about, and noted down her observations. She disapparated quick this time, Elize noticed. Maybe she was just a bit nervous earlier that it took her a while to get around the first part of the exam? Or were the colors a bit too confusing? Hmm.

Either way, when the woman was gone. Eliza sighed and walked over to the couch and sat down as she waited for the return of her examinees. And then she could have lunch!

As before when she apparated to the MLE Reception and Waiting area, Jade find herself on solid ground after coming out of the turn-warp of the apparition with an slightly audible POP. She looked down and saw that she had landed on exactly the same spot (standing next to the yellow triangle of the color circle) and facing the instructor/examiner.

She gave Eliza a little smile and asked, "Is that is all you need?"

Her stomach was grumbling. Gah! It was almost an hour over for her lunch time. This was too much. Eliza sighed freely, momentarily not caring if she was still appeared full of authority just as the image she wanted to project. Her last two examinees for the morning were still out.......okay, maybe crush that part out because there was Miss Hollingberry, popping back again.

Pursing her lips together, Eliza stood up to meet the young girl. Her limbs were intact and notably, her expression was more relaxed now than the last two portions of her exam although she slightly did notice the fidget fidget. Guess she was getting the hang of things now, hmm. Results now, yes? "Kurumi Hollingberry," She eyed the former Hogwartian intensely. "......you passed." And then she gave her an approving nod followed by a smile.

That was when the other examinee came back too, reappearing on the same spot she left. Impressive. Not to mention that she was gone and back again fast. Eliza wasn't amused with how her questions were coming at her though, but keeping her right conduct in place, she gave her a nod too and returned her smile with a brief one. "Miss Jade Gemstone, you have passed too."

"Both of you, please follow me." She walked to the table, sat down on the chair behind it and opened the first drawer. This wasn't her job, really but since they were still waiting on the new hired hands, she had to take charge. She handed each of them a piece of paper. "Fill up the form and then come back to me to get your license and your license back, respectively." She knew they were eager so they better get to filling out the needed information asap. As for her, more writing down and such, noting two more people who passed today. Thank Merlin there wasn't any splinching!

Forgetting that she was holding her breath, Kurumi let out an audible squeak when the woman announced that she had passed. OHTHANKMERLIN. A wide smile spread across her face as she followed the woman and accepted one of the forms and promptly began filling it out.



Still with a bright smile on her face, Kurumi approached the scary woman and handed over the form. "Here you are."

Smiling at the young girl beside her as she let out an audible squeak *Jade remembered about being in awe that you passed at something first shot when you are young* Jade thanked Eliza and took the form from her.



Jade quickly filled it out and handed back to Eliza. "Here you go, thanks for being such a great examiner. It wasn't so bad as I thought-- back in South Africa, we had to also prove that we could side-along apparate with the examiner and it was really difficult to get an apparition license."
