Ten Fingers Up! OKAY. Boss!woman was speaking again, and Ember was paying VERY close to attention to what she was saying. Oh, Ember would make an effort all right. She wanted to know EVERYONE. And, of course, be FRIENDS with everyone. She wasn't picky about friends, either, though, because she usually only disliked a person for being cruel to animals or other people. And, considering everyone here was in the CREATURES department, she doubted much animal abuse would go on. People abuse...well, that was another story. A GAAAAAME?! Ember almost SQUEEEEEEE-ED with excitement. ALMOST. Being twenty-one--going on five--well, she LOVED games. Ice breaker games were the BEST, too, because EVERYONE had to participate. She thought for a moment because...well...she was going to go first. Right? Hmm. Well, first after the boss. She had never ridden a hippogriff before..so..yay! All ten fingers! She glanced around the group and decided that the best first 'never-have-I-ever' would be concerning dragons. She knew Sir Rushmore was a dragon guy, and then the other new guy was a dragon guy, so THERE. It was a SAFE choice. "Okay. Never have I ever...been burnt by a dragon!" ha. It was kind of lame, but Ember knew it would at least get some of those fingers down. Booyah. |
Okay, so far, he still has ten fingers up. Back at his days in Hogwarts he almost did ride a Hippogriff, but someone beat him to it. Boo. Sorry, finger. You were staying up. Oh wow. Being burned by dragon? Luckily, he hasn't. (The would've been bad.) Manolo hasn't even been near a dragon. His life seemed boring now that he thought of it. (Not that he wanted to be burned by dragon. Merlin, no.) He just oughta leave his house more. So, another finger remains up. He tried to think of something clever, but all that managed to come out was, "Never have I been bitten by a doxy." Small, but maybe a lot of them have! |
8 fingers up The new boss then took control and was ready to move them on to the next thing while he was snacking away on his veggies. They were playing a game now, which seemed a bit funny to Tancred. He didn't expect the Ministry of all places to be where grown adults would play games during meetings. He had to admit that it was a quick and easy way to get to know a little bit about everyone, though. So he set his plate of food to the side and put his hands in the air. All ten fingers were in the air, but Harmony started the game off by mentioning that she had never ridden a hippogriff. Well, he was down a finger. Then the young, hyper woman he had briefly met in reception, Ember, clearly targeted the dragon folk and said that a dragon never burned her. Now he was at eight fingers. But that was the end of the finger dropping for the moment. He, like Manolo, never experienced a doxy bite. Quickly glancing around, he thought of something that a fair amount of people in the circle had to have done before. "Never have I ever misplaced my wand," Tancred stated with a nod of his head. It was true. He knew where his wand was at all times. As for his colleagues, well, it was time to see some fingers drop. |
8 Fingers up! Harmony was PLEASED that her employees were indulging her idea of a good meet and greet game! And honestly, it was better than some of the other ideas she'd had which involved hugging and laughter yoga, both which might make some of her staff uncomfortable. She didn't want THAT. Not everyone was as open and eager for contact, y'know? Ohhh, the dragon people were targeted! Harmony laughed a little and smiled in their direction but she too put down a finger. She'd spent a bit of time on a reservation when she was younger so yes, she was down to 9 fingers! A doxy bite wasn't something she was familiar with so no problem there. She did give an encouraging smile to Manolo, though. Good question! Ah yes, this was one she would HAVE to drop a finger for. The dragon commissioner was wise to pick something having to do with wands. Only 8 fingers up now. "Never have I ever owned a crup!" Little dears, crups were. Energetic and excitable and generally fun to have around! |
8 fingers up wow.. everyone was giving good "i've never questions" and so far he's only ridden on a Hippogriff and has been bitten by a Doxy because you know he works with the pests... smiling as this game was starting to become so much fun he laughed a little. Oh it looked like it was his turn, hmmm what was a good question. Thinking about it he laughed as he thought he'd had a pretty good one. "I've never.......been attacked by a unicorn." he would be really interested to see who has been attacked by such a majestic creature. Giggling to himself he waited to see who who would put down a finger. |
7 fingers Jack was feeling better about things as he listened and learned a bit about his co-workers. He smiled slyly as a game was begun and heard the rules. [I] The winner must lead a rather boring overly cautious life working with magical creatures. Before long he had only 7 fingers still raised and then it was his turn, "Never have I ever seen a nundu in person.". He had wanted to but just never had the time to get around to it. |
8 fingers! Oh snap! She KNEW hers would get to the dragon people! Heheeh! If Ember was capable of an evil laugh, she WOULD have totally evil!snickered here. heheeheHE! She moved her hair behind her shoulder once more, her lavender eyes scanning the room once more. There were quiiite a few people that would have to go..and she wondered how she would fare against all the older folks... Oh shoot! She smirked at Manolo as she put one finger down, darn it! Doxies were a pain in the neck back in the day, when she was younger and her parents hadn't a clue of how to deal with them. Luckily, Ember had grown quite good with helping the pests onto happier lives rather than living in desk drawers and whatnot at her house! She never said she would get rid of an animal; In her opinion, you got rid of trash, not an animal. Or a person. But pfffft. Ugh! Another finger?! She put another down...now she had eight. Ugh. "I call bluff..." she smirked in a playful, joking way at Tancred. Who had NEVER lost their wand! The man must be brilliant! To not have EVER lost it! Hehe. She chuckled and looked at the next person...oh! Harmony again! She would have to remember to ask Harmony if she could sing because...well--hehe--Harmony! Whoooop! She had never owned a crup so she stayed at eight--and the next guy--welp! Unicorns normally didn't attack anyone who was harmless to them, unless it was a mother being protective over her baby--so Ember, thankfully, was still at eight. She felt so serious ABOUT THIS BLOODY GAME! HEHE. She was just excited to get to know everyone--really! A nundu? Ember's head tilted--oh! She had never had the chance to see one up close--so she didn't put her finger down, but that one she wouldn't have regretted! They were so...beautiful! hmm. She looked around. She would go again, yess? Hehe. "Right. So. Never have I ever..." hmmm. "Met a Centaur--" she said quickly, though...creatures? Ehh... |
lololololol poor William. He's at THREE. Alright, this was a cool game. William could really get into this. Except that.... Quote:
So right away, the tall man holding up ten fingers had to put one down. Quote:
Annnnnd down went another finger. Willy gave the new girl a pretend-glare, but he couldn't be down very long. He LOVED dragons. He even Eight fingers. Quote:

But at least it was his turn at last. What could he do to knock all these other goof balls up... he could do the thing about the malaclaw, but that was hard to phrase in never-have-I-ever terms. So he went with something else. "Never have I ever NOT lived with at least one pet!" |

Okay she needed a good one!! "Never have I rode on any type of winged horse." |
loool Poor William 5 fingers A unicorn attack? That was a creative, albeit far fetched, scenario. She HAD heard they could be a bit skittish around men, though. Who knows what experiences some of her employees might have had with them. Harmony smiled good-naturedly from William to Jose during their little exchange and kept her eight fingers up. No need to drop one for that. She had seen a nundu before and it had been QUITE the experience so with a sigh and a smile, a finger dropped down. Now she was down to seven. "Ah yes, Centaurs. Fascinating to talk to, they are." The read head BEAMED at Ember and let one more finger drop, eyeing the remaining six with amusement. Perhaps she wasn't doing so well in this game after all. William, he didn't get her on that one! She smiled and wiggled her six fingers in his direction, noting his three. Poor guy was just extremely experienced in the creatures department, it seemed. And perhaps for this game in particular, that made him an easy target. Hehe. Oh but Kylie! She'd gotten her with the winged horse bit. The Department head had gone on a chaaaaarming Abraxan ride when she was a teen and it had been QUITE the experience. Another finger went down. "Looks like some of us are down to our last hands!" Grin! Was everyone having FUN? She was! "Never have I ever harvested Flobberworm mucus." OOC: Hey, lovelies! Let's wrap this up, okay? Next time I post, I'll have Harmony conclude the game and finish up the meeting. Until then, have fun trying to get your fellow creature crazies out. |
Nine fingers. lol *lame* January had never heard of this game before. She hadn't heard of many games, but this one was odd. She supposed it was an interesting way to get to know her coworkers, though, so she held up her hands, all ten fingers up and ready. Quote:

ummm. FIVE. It was William's turn. The older man. The rushy rush rush one. Ember eyed his fingers...oh bloody--he had THREE fingers left! Poor dear! Ember felt both jealous that he had gotten to DEAL with so much but also sorry that he was losing! Hmm, she would have to try to pick something to help a fellow out, man! And then his got her. DRAT. She put a finger down and pretend pouted but then smiled again as the game continued. Kylie asked about winged horses, and Ember quickly shook her head--oh nooo. Flying was NOT a thing for the young adult. Scary. Terrifying. Not to mention--um--DANGEROUS AND LIFE THREATENING. So no. No flying. Boss! was up again, and Ember popped a small carrot into her mouth while listening. She was still trying to decide if William was winning or losing. She supposed it depended on the way one...looked at it. She siiiighed at Harmony's ask, and put down a finger. Her daaaarn gardening and such required mucus sometimes...it was plenty gross, and it had costed her a FINGER. >__> January was up! Righto! And Ember had NEVER had a house elf! Some of her family members did, but not she! So YAY! Manola's turn! She turned to face him, smiling a bit again as she held up her ONE full hand and her one finger on the OTHER one. Oh my! A big spider? Oh no--Ember would be WATCHING to see who the heck put a finger down for THAT one because--well-Merlin! Scary times, man! She chuckled at the next one and put down a finger--PIXIES. So there. She had FIVE left, and pffft. She was only two more than William! But who knew how he would fare, now! "Never have I ever...encountered a dementor before!" she exclaimed, proudly, for thinking up such a one! She hadn't honestly ever done it! She had a patronus, of course, but she didn't ever have to use it...hmm... |

Games all done! 4 fingers up A house elf, that was an interesting addition. Harmony had never had a house elf so her five fingers stayed up but she did look around, curious as to who had had a house elf in their home. Perhaps she could ask them some questions that might be helpful for those working with the house elves here in the department. It was something to think about. Acromantulas had never crossed her path either, unfortunately. They were fascinating creatures, were they not? Harmony looked around and was quite jealous of those who had had the chance to interact with them, as dangerous as that must have been. Still five fingers up over here. Pixies! She had, in fact, chased after a pixie. "You got me there, Manolo!" Now she was down to four. Looks like she wasn't winning this game, unfortunately! Oh, another fascinating yet frightening subject to think about. Dementors were not something you'd want to encounter and Harmony was glad not to have to put a finger down for that particular question. She DID note that William was out, though. Her cue to end the game. She'd ended with four fingers which wasn't the worst, not at all. Clapping her hands, the red head smiled at her employees and said, "I think that's all for us. William seems to have had the most experience of the lot, having no fingers left." Her gaze flicked towards him for a moment and she smiled wider. "For those of you with eight fingers or more left up, we'll say you're the winners here." And the department head summoned a box and set it on her lap, carefully taking one of the prizes out to show the group. "I thought these delightful little guys would help relieve stress and lift spirits! You can collect yours at the end of the meeting if you are one of the lucky eight finger or above finishers!" As for those who didn't quite make the cut, she wouldn't leave them out. "And because there are no losers here, those with less than eight fingers will receive these lovely wind up toys!" She lifted a little owl from the box and showed it with her free hand, clearly excited about her choice of prizes! "But again, please wait until the meeting has finished to collect them." She set the prizes in the box once more and placed the box aside. "I'd just like to thank you guys for coming and participating. I hope you've learned something about those you work with and perhaps now you have topics to bridge gaps with those you weren't sure you had anything in common with!" Beamy department head was beamy as she tossed her hair over her shoulder. "Now for some announcements. Physical fitness exams will be taking place sometime in the coming weeks for those required to take them. I believe that list includes the Albino Bloodhound Handlers, those in the Dragon Research and Restraint Bureau, and Werewolf Capture Unit. I may be expanding this list so please keep an eye on the notice board and make use of this room so you're prepared." And they should be prepared. Perhaps she too would participate in the exam! "Now with what happened in the ministry prior to it's reopening, there has been some concern about pests and I think it'd be wise for those working in the Pest Sub-Division to go to Diagon Alley and make sure the shop keepers have adequate information on how to deal with common pests as well as information on who to contact in the event of an emergency. I suggest you get to work on this immediately. Perhaps meet up and discuss who will cover what shops. Jose has made lovely pamphlets for me in the past so perhaps he can head this mission." And there was just one more thing. "Those working in the Office of Evil Spirits should brush up on your spells. I've set up some mock scenarios in the back right of the training area for you to run through. Best to stay on your toes." Alright, that was all for now. "If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to come to me. I'm always available for a sit down and open to your ideas and suggestions within reason. And if none of you have any questions, this meeting is concluded!" YAY! "Please help yourself to some snacks on the way out and don't forget your prizes!" OOC: Okay! That's it for the meeting. Feel free to have your charries hang around and mingle or make plans to collaborate on assignments. I'll be posting more on the physical fitness exam soon as I work that out. The Pest Sub-Division can work together to figure out the best course of action to spread the word about proper pest removal and promoting their division in the event of an emergency. Those working in the Evil Spirits Office can have fun with the scenarios. I imagine Harmony has roped off an area and the employees just say "start" and experience mock situations in which they'd encounter spectres and poltergeist. Be creative and have fun with it! Again, ALL of this is OOC optional but working in the MOM is as fun as you make it so I encourage you guys to participate and RP with your fellow creature people! Harmony is always around to play as well <33 |
~ time to show off your pets, guys! COME ON IN ~ Cole was all ready to do this thing. It would be a nice change to handle cute little cuddly beings that weren't breathing fire on you and more. Coffee in one hand and a donut bag in the other, the senior dragon restraint officer made his way into the fitness and training area that had been transformed completely. And he was all alone. Well, at least he was on time and he had time to do breakfast. Hopping on to sit on one of the tables at the corner, Cole placed his coffee down and helped himself to one of the donuts in the bag. Mmmmhm. Perfect. |
It almost felt like Hogwarts days again, what with Spot perched on Penelope's shoulder like she used to. Except she wasn't stuck on a train full of other kids headed for school, so it was better than Hogwarts days already. She'd almost headed for the room that held the animals waiting to be adopted but...she knew she and Tag already had loads of pets, so that probably wasn't a good idea. Still...she might head there later, at least just to look at all the cute little creatures. Definitely just to look though...ahem. Anyway, this area looked fun. Spot would probably like playing on some of these. Taco, one of her other cats, probably would've too, but Penelope didn't think she'd enjoy being surrounded by so many people and pets at the same time. And Pabu would care more about the attention of other people than playing on these things. So it was good the YATI had brought Spot instead of the others. So what should they...oh, wait, there was something to fill out here. She picked up one of the cards and quickly scribbled in the answers for it. Quote:
"D'you work here?" she asked, also holding up the card she'd filled out. Was she supposed to give it to him or put it somewhere or...? |
bit of cole Charlotte was so ready for this work day.She couldnt wait for some pet parkour or pet yoga. Maybe toga after parkour. This was why she had applied for the creatures department....welll something like that. This was gonna be very fun. Her fellow creatures people and her had put a lot of effort into all of the pet day, not just this area. Pets needed some time off too. Standing at the entrance of the room, the brunette held some of the tables in her hand. She was so ready for people to arrive now. How exciting. Her colleague seemed to have breakfast, so she was gonna help him out there until he was finished.Nodding at him she put on her best smile. Lets do this! |
As soon as that memo about Bring your Pet to Work day anded on his desk, Zach got very excited. He arrived at the Magical Creature's level and looked around as to what's in-store for his two beauties. Perched on his shoulder is a small Peregrine Falcon looking mightily from his spot. It looked around and made some noise, then caressed Zach's ear. Zach returned the favour by scratching the bird's chest and by doing so the falcon flapped its wings. On Zach's side is a lovely fury creature. He is a Siberian Husky with a black fur coat and a white belly. He is just standing besides Zach like a well mannered gentleman. Zach walked towards the table and picked up too paper for him to fill up. Quote:

Cole was still enjoying his donuts when people began to arrive. He wasn't sure he appreciated that. He hated working without breakfast but at least some of it was inside his stomach. And he didn't want to call watching little furballs play around working - so he was good to go, yes. Deciding that this person didn't immediately need him, Cole watched her carefully while downing his donut. When it seemed like she had finished scribbling in the details of her pet, and Cole officially had one donut inside him - he moved to join her, oblivious that there may be SOME chocolate on the corner of his lips. "Hello there," he smiled, and his eyes moved to the creature on her shoulder. "I do, I am Cole" he nodded at her question, and scratched the little guy's head with his fingers, "and I am going to be one of your hosts for the day," he added with a charming grin, and slight bow of his head. Although he was completely and utterly a dragon person, in some other life he could imagine himself being a cat person too. "Do you think he will be interested in playing around?" he asked, before remembering he was still holding the bag of donuts. "And oh, would you care for one?" he asked, holding out the bag for her. Quote:
Quote:
And loook at his pet. "That is some bird, you have got there" he commented, his eyes full of awe at the bird's beauty. It may have made him a tad bit unaware that there was a siberian husky standing besides the fellow - but when it did come to his attention, Cole grinned and crouched down beside the guy. "And look at you!" he offered, before looking up to his owner. "I bet he would love to play around her, wouldn't he?" |
SPOILER!!: Zach and Cole Charlotte chuckled as she saw her colleague holding the donuts. The pets and the owners would love them. Of course she'd get one herself later, but guests came first. Joining him and a new guest she smiled. "Hello there my name is Charlotte", the brunette said giving a small wave," i see you brought a falcon?" It had to be a falcon, when it came to creatures Charlotte was never wrong. NEVER. This day was going so well already, people arriving seemed to be in a good mood and a good mood would make a good atmospehere. Pet yoga, there we go. Man was she excited for pet yoga and pet parkour. "Thanks for filling out the form, i hope you and your pet will enjoy todays activities. We've got SO MUCH in store for you." |
Casimir was LAAAAAATE. Ordinarily, he wouldn't have minded |
Quote:
She decided not to for now though, just 'cause it amused her. "Oh good," she replied with a smile. "Guess I give this to you then." She offered the card she'd filled out to him. "Yeah, I think she'll like a bit of playtime." She, because Spot was a girl. Aw, and he was offering her a donut. That was nice...so maybe she'd also be nice and let him know about the chocolate on his face. Someone probably would've said something eventually, but the sooner the better, yeah? That way it wasn't on there for too long. "Sure, thanks." She picked out a donut before gesturing at his lips with her other hand. "You've got a bit of chocolate there by the way." |
