Mystic Mirror Maze
|
For Eva and Bella! <3 A magical mirror maze had certainly sounded interesting. But now that Evan had entered and was very quickly feeling all turned around, he very much wondered if this had been a smart decision. It was way more than too late given he couldn't even figure out how to go back now if he wanted to so... onwards really was the only option. So that's exactly the direction in which he traveled. So far, the mirrors that showed the back of his head were the most confusing to him and easily what was turning his sense of direction around the most. How was one to figure out which direction was the correct one when it felt like he was surrounded on four sides by just the back of his head!? Apparently it had confused him to the point where even being able to tell what was an opening and what was not was muddled, as he turned to pick a direction and yet... Ended up on his bum on the ground instead. Embarrassing. |

Turning around a corner in the maze she was met with the sight of herself from mirrors all around that started to call out 'You are ugly,' 'Why did you wear that horrible skirt?' 'Don't you know that Apollo doesn't like you and he definitley doesn't think you are cute,' 'Your hair is ghastly you should dye it blond so you'll be prettier.. and more girlfriendy..' As the insulting mirrors kept peppering her with insulting and hurting words Bella's eyes started to fill up with tears. When she couldn't stand the insults anymore she sped forward hoping for an escape. Running without looking she almost ran straight into a boy that was sitting on his bum on the floor. Managing to evade him with inches Bella toppled to the side and landed in a teary heap beside the boy mumbling to herself. "My hair isn't ghastly....." |
Although it was she who designed the mirror maze, Tab hoped to avoid entering it herself. She was rather too Oh, dear. Tab shook her head and stood up gingerly. This celebration was meant to be light and fun. She could not have her mirrors ruin the experience for children. With a sigh, she entered the maze and navigated her way around a few corners to quickly locate the offending mirrors. "Hey, take it down a notch, alright? Don't be so mean to the young 'uns - no, that does not give you permission to insult ME ... What? There is NOTHING wrong with my scarf!" |
SPOILER!!: Isabella! He was certainly glad he had not fallen in front of any of the insulting mirrors, as he could only imagine the things his reflection would have said with the ammunition he just gave. A little bit flushed in the cheeks, Evan started the process of pushing himself off of the ground when someone else came from around the corner. He was expecting to be ran into (a fairly common occurrence unfortunately) but the girl managed to evade him and fall near him. With... a lot of tears. Which certainly had him abandoning the efforts of actually getting up and instead scooting towards her to see if he could spot any injuries. "Are you okay!?" Had she fallen that hard? Now he felt extra bad and embarrassed about the fact he couldn't discern open doorway vs mirror and maybe there was a way to call for someone to get her out an- did she just say her hair wasn't ghastly? The Ravenclaw blinked, not knowing if he was supposed to respond but deciding to anyways in hopes of making her feel better. "It's not. You have rather pretty hair." He could hear someone behind them scolding the mirrors and then receiving insults about their apparel. Who knew a mirror could be so sassy. |
for our faves, shanners and jorgie The term was over and the summer was upon everyone, and Haneul Yong could say that she was...happy. Not the manic kind, but something in her was quite content with herself. Looking back in the WADA term that was, she had gone through a number of breakdowns in order to get by—her job at that muggle bowling alley, the ThingTM with her parents, and the tireless nights spent in the dance studio in WADA. She loved what she was doing, and her performance at the showcase was an indicator of it. Heck, even the thought of it would make her smile. After running errands for her mother, Haneul had the afternoon free for the Diagon Alley celebration. Not exactly a crowd enjoyer herself, she wasn't sure she wanted to be here in the first place. But this celebration didn't happen all the time, you know? So here she was. Maybe she'd find a station here that would suit someone like her. Nothing truly captures one's attention better than a glint of light blinding you. Haneul paused from walking to rub her eyes. She turned to face the source, only to see her own reflection on a mirror. That was...surprising. Not that she hated mirrors, in particular. Just...yeah, mhm, and the low music from inside didn't really help. The Korean stared at herself for a moment before awkwardly fixing her hair a bit. |
For Amy and Blake! Karleigh might have been supposed to be getting the last of her school supplies, but it didn't take a whole lot to distract her and who could resist this festival they had going on?! It wasn't like they had a celebration event every day or even every summer, so the newly turned fourteen year old just had to stop and indulge a little. "Oooh, a mirror maze!" she exclaimed as she came to a stop just outside the attraction. She could hear the faint music coming from within and tried to peer around the small mirror hung at the entrance. Was it a large maze? Was it hard or easy? "I wonder what's inside.." she whispered to herself. Only one way to find out! |
SPOILER!!: Evan Lying on the floor, still in a teary heap Bella kept on thinking about what the mirror said Apollo. The mirror was wrong. Apollo was her BFF and he liked her, he didn't think she wasn't cute right? Bella had of course never talked about that with Apollo. She did though think Apollo was very cute... It was then she realized that the boy she had landed beside had scooted closer to her. Bella stared at him in silence for several seconds resisting the urge to scoot away from him, instead she raised her hands to wipe away her tears from her eyes. Taking a deep breath she replied quietly, looking over at the other boy. "I'll be all right. I just got peppered with insults by some mirrors back there." Wiping away some more tears, Bella scrambled herself up into a sitting position. "You're Evan right? You're in Ravenclaw?" He was not in Slytherin, or she would have known who he was right away. Starting to blush when she realized that he had overheard what she had said, she mumbled in response as he raised a hand to touch her black hair. "Thanks, I appreciate it." It was then she heard how someone, an adult most likely, behind them out of sight gave the insulting mirrors a scolding for their mean insults. Focusing back on the boy beside her Bella asked "Want to go the rest of the mirror maze together with me?" She definitley would like some company if she was to run into more insulting mirrors. |
For Scarlett and Dawn! Dahlia was loving this DA celebration. So far she was coming here every single day, all the booths and food stands were been enjoyed by this thirteen year old. All but one. She hadn't tried the Mystic Mirror Maze yet. It wasn't even a regular mirror maze either, it was magical! And she hadnt gone inside! Neither had Keighley her eleven year old cousin whom just so happened to be spending the afternoon with her today. The two of them were going to have an amazing time! Sparkling blue eyes met sparkling blue eyes as both girls looked from the maze to each other in near unison. It was like the had already decided they were going to go inside. Lia smiled brightly at her younger cousin. "This is going to be so much fun!" |
Astriiiiiiiiid & Ashhhhh When Jasper had heard about Zap-a-Snitch, he all but RAN towards the booth. Snitches? Shooting stuff with wands? Say no more!! This was going to be TOTALLY LEGENDARY! It had Jasper Amir Botros written all over it! ... So you could imagine his confusion when he ended up in the middle of a mirror maze instead. This wasn't Zap-a-Snitch. "Hey, what gives?!" The second year (to be) ruffled his hair as he turned around... and around ... and around. Which way was—Wait. Is that really what the back of his head looked like? Heh. He leaned closer to the back-up mirror, smoothing his curly head of hair as best he could. He still wanted to find the snitch game, but he very well couldn't walk around looking like he had just rolled out of bed (even though he technically did just roll out of bed, heh). Mamman would expect better of him. |

"Mirrors!" he said excitedly coming up behind a classmate. Duh. It was obvious what was inside. Was the girl talking to herself? Probably. He was going to reply anyway though. "Want to go see?" he asked already making his way toward the entrance. |
Zoey! <3 This looked intriguing. Luke was still anxiously awaiting the results of his OWL exams, but there was no point in sitting at home to do so. He needed things to do to pass the time...and to just be out of the house in general. It wasn't quite as bad as it had been a year ago - his time away at Hogwarts felt like it had done some good, for himself and for his family. But it was still...off. There was still that gaping hole in their family, and the emptiness left behind was still difficult to ignore when he was at home. So he had sent a letter to Zoey and invited her the event in Diagon Alley. Specifically to meet at the mirror maze, because the challenge of it sounded fun. They could go to the other sections of the event too if she wanted. But hopefully they could overcome the maze first. |
SPOILER!!: Hi Jasper See, Ashley Fox should NEVER be left unsupervised. She was trying to encounter EVERY mirror in Diagon Alley, was she? She didn’t even know how she ended up here. She’d finally been allowed to go somewhere herself... then she saw a mirror and was drawn in... and now she was here. Sitting defeatedly on the ground, surrounded by mirrors, watching her own reflection yell insulting things(that she often thought herself) about her personality, her appearance, and how unworthy she was of having magic. Strangely, she felt nothing. She was just numb. She wanted Dustin or Alex or anyone really to pick her up like a small child and carry her back to her hotel so she could sleep. Maybe this WAS a dream. It kinda felt like one. Why would the real Ashley be in a maze of mirrors? Was her reflection the real Ashley or was she? Was her reflection trapped or was was she? Was her reflection the same Ashley or was it an imaginary Ashley? Was SHE the imaginary Ashley? What if neither of them was the real Ashley??? What had she eaten for dinner last night, jeez. Also, why was Lisa’s friend in her dream? That was really, really WEIRD. It couldn’t be a dream then, because she had no reason to imagine Lisa’s friend fixing his hair in a weird funhouse mirror that only showed the back of his head. That was a bit... absurd. So absurd that it could only be happening in reality. She stared at him. “What are you doing?” She was just gonna sit here until she died, gathered her courage and found a way out, or was rescued. Might as well pass the time talking to someone. That was always better than being alone. |
SPOILER!!: bella! For someone who did his best to avoid situations with emotional people, he certainly seemed to find himself in the midst of such encounters a lot recently. He wasn't sure what that meant, or why it was happening, but it was a trend he was noticing none the less. Seeing her wipe at her face, he reached into his pocket and pulled out his pack of kleenex, pulling one out of the packaging and offering it to her. "Those mirrors can be pretty brutal." He had no idea if this was true, having ignored them on his way through, but he was hoping to make her feel better so it seemed a maybe appropriate thing to say. Oh shoot. She remembered his name. He'd been feeling so proud of himself for being able to remember Jude's at the Magical Menagerie, which had saved him from this situation where they knew name and he.... did not. He could feel himself turn a little red, merely because he felt bad. "Yeah, I'm Evan. Ravenclaw is right. Going into my fourth year. I'm sorry... I don't quite remember your name...?" The rudest of the rude, he was. He didn't know what else to say at her thanks, so instead he focused on getting himself up off the ground and dusting off his pants from sitting on the ground. The offer of going through together sounded good to him, given the fact he was also already hopelessly lost, so he quickly accepted her invitation. "Sure, that sounds good to me." He offered her a hand to help pull her up so they could continue on their way. "Did you know this event was happening this summer?" |
hiiii <3 Quote:
She made her way towards the entrance of the maze briskly, dressed in a bright yellow printed dress and matching shoes, wearing only a little makeup and her sunglasses pushed to the top of her head. Her gaze settled on Luke a couple of minutes later, the corners of her lips lifting up in a smile. "Hey, you." She came to a halt right in front of him. "You look great." |
Quote:
'Yeah, let's go!" She would have gone in either way, but it would be loads more fun to try to navigate the maze with another person! And since Blake was already at the entrance, Karleigh stepped up behind him. "Lead the way!" |
Quote:
The smile came easily when he saw her. "So do you." The yellow was nice. But she always looked pretty, to be honest. A lot of his friends did. It was just more obvious to him at certain times, like right now. Er. Anyway. "Think we can find our way out of this maze?" Luke asked, his tone a little teasing. Because the answer was obvious. They were both intelligent people. Finding the exit to this maze couldn't be that hard in the grand scheme of things, especially not after all the |

No. She hadn't. She'd always been interested in listening to the legalities of adoptions, fosters and everything else that her family dealt with. So it naturally made sense. And at least she'd have Jackson nearby with them both studying in London. Sure, they'd be busy and probably on completely separate timetables given the difference in their courses... but she still had this ring hanging around her neck and with it came his promise to love her whatever uni threw at them. Of course, the temptation of a mirror was too much for the Stemp and once she'd seen it out of the corner of her eye whilst wandering, Jorgie had been headed straight for it. Only to be beat there by a face she recognised. Appearing just behind her right shoulder, Jorgie grinned. "Hi Haneul!" |
SPOILER!!: Ashley "Fixing my hair," he replied honestly. Jasper didn't even have to turn around to see her! This mirror was AWESOME! He would need exactly four of them - he'd ask baba after a round of that zap-a-snitch game. That way they could buy the mirrors and immediately head home to set them up around the house. He'd put one in every corner of his room so that he could check on the back of his head at all times. It was important to look good. Mamman had instilled this in him at a very young age. After spending just a few more seconds on his hair, he turned to look at the older girl sat on the ground. "Are you okay?" He asked gently after noticing that she looked dejected. Did she play zap-a-snitch and lose? Maybe Jas could offer to win her a prize. That might help. Or food. Food always did the trick and luckily, Jas had enough coinage to buy for both of them. |
Quote:
He was immediately disappointed with the fact the very first mirror looked like just a normal muggle one. But he did poke it just to make sure. |
Quote:
Oh, yeah. "I'm pretty sure that we can." She said with a smile, reaching for his hand. They definitely would be able to exit the maze soon enough but also, kind of hoped that it would be a little challenging and fun. "Come on." She said, entering the maze. |
SPOILER!!: Evan Who even had a packet of kleenex in their pocket? Baffled Bella accepted the handkerchief with a mumbled "Thanks," as she raised it to dry her eyes and blow her nose. When she was done, Bella felt it best to hastily explain to Evan. "I usually don't cry so much, it was just the mirrors that were so brutal. How can it even know my inner most fears and weak spots?" The words had been hurting, but it was like the mirrors could see into her soul and mind and that was SCARY. One point to her for remembering his house and name. Maybe she was better at remembering names than she had thought. Smiling she said "It's fine if you can't remember. I'm Isabella, but everyone calls me Bella, and I'll be a third year Slytherin in september." She wasn't going to hold it against Evan since he was practically her savior. Accepting his offered hand Bella got to her feet and shook her head. "No, but it's pretty cool that Diagon Alley is 600 years old, don't you think?" Gesturing ahead of them she asked "Shall we brave seeing what mirrors meet us around the next bend in the maze?" She alteast had gone through the insulting mirror so hopefully the next mirrors were nice. |

As immediately as she saw a pretty blonde girl with a pretty big smile, Haneul's eyes widened, and she turned a light shade of pink and spun around, quickly abandoning her reflection and the little twirl she was doing on a couple strands of her hair with her finger. "Jorgie! Hi!" Haneul replied and smiled big too, her cheeks puffing in the process, and bowed. Some traditions were hard to let go. She assumed that wherever Jorgie was, Jackson would be there. Evidently he wasn't, at least right now. "No Jackson today?" They both seemed pretty inseparable lately. Also, cute together. It must be nice to have someone like that....yes. Haneul also noticed Jorgie's bag. She didn't have any right now, so the Korean assumed Jorgie had gone shopping for things. "Do you need help with that?" She offered, just in case. Bags can be heavy, you know. |
SPOILER!!: Jasper "Oh. Cool." If she liked mirrors, she could have used one like that. Alas, she did not like mirrors. In fact, she was very very very afraid of mirrors. TOO BAD SHE WAS SURROUNDED BY THEM, HUH??? She closed her eyes and laid down on her back. No more mirrors pls. She just sorta wanted to pass out or something. Then someone would find her, and then they would take her to her bodyguards. Hopefully. Jasper had already found her, but he was just a kid. She didn't wanna burden him with reality or anything. Was he asking something? Oh yeah. Are you okay? That was an easy one to answer. "No. I hate mirrors. I am... surrounded by mirrors. This appears to be a problem." A really BIG problem. A REALLY BIG PROBLEM!!! Why did she ask for time alone anyway? She shouldn't have done that... asked for time alone... came here... mirrors were bad... bad mirrors... "So anyway, how are you?" |
Quote:
"Sorry." Even if she said it was okay, he still felt bad. He'd certainly make sure he knew it now though should he ever run into her again. "Nice to officially make your acquaintance Isabella. Do you like being called Bella?" He figured it was worth confirming, given how everyone called Mamie 'Mamie' but now she wanted to be Margaret. "Are you excited for the upcoming term?" Another year was exciting, if also still perhaps a bit anxiety inducing. He pulled her up from her spot on the ground, letting go once she was settled and steady on her feet again. "It really is cool. I had no idea it's been so long!" But why would he have? He didn't actually know much about DA at all, except the layout by now. He nodded and gave a small smile at the offer to proceed, taking the lead so that if they did encounter anymore mirrors with the desire to tease, it would be him instead of her. "Let's do it!" Evan started forward, tentatively reaching a hand out to make sure he wasn't staring at a reflection this time and wouldn't run into something like previously. "Did you come with anyone today?" |
