"You can call me Marcelo too, if you want. That's easier." So, there, he would show he didn't enjoy nicknames with a small correction. Hopefully, she was at least half as clever as her beauty to get it.
"I'm a fifth year." Pause. "Salazar, have you said?" Could you elaborate on that?
Marie didn't miss the look on Joe's face when she said she had no idea what he just said. It was as she thought, he thought she was an idiot.
"Oh, well in that case, you're welcome." He could have just said thank you to begin with, then she wouldn't have had to look like such an idiot.
"Um... okay, Marcelo it is." Just how many names did he have? Not that it really mattered. At least this one was one she could pronounce, without looking like a fool trying to do it.
