She wanted to see the finished job her group had done. From what she could see it looked amazing.
Spotting a small crowd under the crest, she made her way over still absently fussing with the dress, though not as much since curiosity had taken hold of her. The little puff greeted all her professors, throwing in a few complements as well before steping over to her classmates as friends. Them she had never seen looking so radiant. Raiden she had seen dressed nice once before and Cela always looked nice, but seeing them dolled up had a smile creeping on her face. "Hey guys, you both look really great." She sent a wave over to Miles and the older Hufflepuff girl before letting her eyes float back to Cela's dress. It was so sparkle and shiny that is almost made her forget she was wearing one of her own. Almost. "Arya," Tate nodded at the young girl and gave her a smile. "You look very nice this evening. I like the dress very much." She was an adorable kid, that one was. SPOILER!!: Prefect, Captains, and... Bears, Oh My! Quote:

"Thank you." Celandine smiled widely enough that it almost hurt. It was clear she'd been practicing her Vindictus!Smile. She looked at Nia's dress again. "I love the blue and the ruffles!" It was definitely flattering. Celandine tipped her head to one side and gave Raiden a look. One of those lookhowprettyNiais kind of looks. And yes she had a specific one.
"I needed somewhere to keep my wand." Celandine added conspirationally, indicating the clutch.
Celandine blushed a little. "Yes I am waiting for my date." She lowered her voice, "But I have to stand here for a while and greet people as they arrive, so I hope he doesn't arrive too soon." Unless of course, Professor Vindictus and Headmaster Tate didn't mind her sneaking off a bit earlier? Miles had already slipped away, Cela had noticed that. Quote:

"Good evening, Headmaster." She resisted the urge to tell Headmaster Tate he looked pretty. Like a kitten. Cute and fuzzeh and warmish, right? Of course, he looked classy too. He usually did. Speaking of classy, where was Professor Truebridge? HEEE was classy as well.
But ah well, she would worry about that later. She had other stuff on her mind, right now. Like not running into certain people, and wondering where two certain Hufflepuffs were. Both of whom would, she knew, look simply stunning. "You look lovely, Cel," she said, beaming at Cela as she made her way over to the group. "You look good too, Rai." Except, he didn't look lovely. Handsome, yes, but not lovely.
She said cheerful hello's to a couple of people, waved to a few others, and stood there, looking happy in general. Quote:

They had to stand with the Professors and greet people as they came in? Were they important enough for that? It felt like some Royal occassion, and Sarah wasn't sure she should be there. Especially as she was a dork at social functions.
Spotting Torin stood by himself, she breathed a sigh of relief. At least her fellow Huffie wasn't occupied at that moment. Walking over to him, she cleared her throat to let him know she was there, before turning her head to whisper. "Why are we doing this bit?"
While awaiting a reply, her eyes darted about between the people assembled and chatting. Everyone looked so nice in their evening dress/suits. Looking down, Sarah raised an eyebrow at her own outfit. Was it good enough? Gladrags had been fairly useless, and she'd had to resort to asking her mum to send her catalogues, so she could order it through them and get it owled over. Sigh. Quote:

Resisting the urge to run a hand through her hair - which would have totally messed it up - Nancy slowly moved forward to stand next to Sarah. Shifting her weight from one foot to the other she leaned slightly towards the fellow Prefect. "Is this awkward or is this awkward?" She muttered, still grinning broadly at everybody who walked past. They had to make a good impression after all soo... SMIIIILLLE!!!! Quote:

Okay okay, she could do this. She totally could. That is, if these damned shoes would KEEP STILL. Or...y'know, stop making her wobble. Right.
Smoothing down her short black dress, Miranda carefully, but not THAT carefully, walked off towards the recieving line where apparently they should be standing. Seeing Sarah and Torin standing there, Miranda breathed a sigh of relief and hurried over. "Higuyshow'sitgoing,ey?" Nervous much? Gosh. She kept twisting the dress fabric and felt a bit naked. Like...where was the rest of the dress? HER KNEES were getting COLD!
Hehe.
Oh, and there was her Head of House. He looked... different. The groundskeeper was wearing a suit!
Gosh... Quote:

Casting the headmaster and professors a wary look, he sneaked up the line (which was kind of difficult for someone so gangly and blatantly obvious) and slipped in the line beside Nancy, Sarah and Miranda. “Ladies.” He smiled at the girls as he straightened his jacket. “You all look nice.” And... woah.. Miranda in a dress! Staaaaaaaaare.
Blink blink. Ahem.
Now that was a vision he never thought he'd see. Tearing his eyes away from her to look at the people making their way along the line, he raised an eyebrow. “Well this looks like fun.” He mumbled to himself.
He felt strangely like royalty as he stood there waiting to shake hands with people and chat to them or whatever the hell it was he was supposed to be doing.. except he wasn't a white haired shrunken old woman with a fondness for hats and corgis and people called Chaaaarrrrrrrrrrrles.
Hehehe.
Tate grinned as his prefects and captains took their places in the line and acted the polite and mature hosts he knew they were. Okay... deep inside, he knew they were polite and mature, although some of them were struggling with the concept. He grunted to himself when Miles disappeared with that girlfriend of his and Torin stomped off in a huff. That was... not surprising, but still disappointing.
But the rest of them... they looked amazing. Acted amazing. They made him very proud. "Thanks for being here, you lot. You're doing a fantastic job, and you all look great. If you want to stick around a while longer and greet, I would appreciate it, but consider yourselves dismissed once the line thins out." Quote:

She sighed, absentmindedly scrunched up her green hair and straightened a non-existent crease on her black dress as she inched her way towards the front.
As she neared the fellows in their penguin suits and glittering gowns, she suddenly felt a jolt of panic, realizing only then that she hasn’t thought of what she would say as her cover. "What else can you say but the truth? Its an Alumni ball dummy, that’s why you’re here" she berated her self silently just as she came up to the suits. Taking a deep breath she utters a name that hasn’t passed her lips in years ”Uhm hi.… Regina Roa. Slytherin house.” "And I'm Headmaster Tate. Gryffindor," Tate offered the girl his hand and a wink. "It's nice of you to join us for the ball, Ms. Roa." Quote:

Wanting to say hello to everyone, she waited for Rex to walk with her. "Good evening, young lady," Tate grinned at the child in front of him. "You certainly look very nice. I hope you enjoy your evening." Quote:

Bella had watched to ask for a dance later, that was aloud between friends right?
She looked around, at the other students whom were chatting with other people, who could she talk to? Tate spotted another girl, a bit further on, looking somewhat lost. "How are you doing this evening?"
