Reports from earlier this year stated that Rupert Grint's next project,
The Drummer - a biopic would focus on the life of Beach Boys member Brian Wilson - would begin production this June in California and Georgia. However, The Hollywood Reporter revealed this week that due to other filming commitments for director Randall Miller and screenwriter Jody Savin, filming for
The Drummer will be pushed to later this fall.
Incidentally, the film project Savin and Miller will begin filming this summer, set to be based on famed New York City rock club CBGB, will have Rupert's former
Harry Potter costar Alan Rickman headlining as the club's owner, Hilly Kristal. Currently there is no specific time frame on when
The Drummer will be shot, or if Rupert will bide his time between now and the fall start date on another project.
Additionally, Rupert's most recently-released movie, the World War II drama
Into the White, will be available on DVD and Blu-ray in Norway, where the film was shot and had its world premiere in April. Production company
Scanbox Entertainment revealed that the movie will be released four days after Rupert's 24th birthday, on August 28, 2012. Images of the DVD and Blu-ray covers are below; at the moment no other theatrical or home video dates for the movie have been announced in any other nation outside Norway, though we will have updates on that as soon as they are released.
