Today, Tuesday February 9th, marks actor Ciarán Hinds' 57th birthday. Ciarán is now known to Harry Potter fans as playing Aberforth Dumbledore, younger brother of Albus, in Deathly Hallows.

GameSpot has released several new images from the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone segment of the LEGO Harry Potter Year1-4 video game, being released this May. The photos can be seen below.

Rumours had been surfacing lately that Rupert Grint's upcoming crime comedy, Wild Target, in which he stars alongside Bill Nighy (Rufus Scrimgeour in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) was set to be released this spring. Entertainment Film, who is distributing the film, has exclusively told SnitchSeeker that Wild Target will indeed be released on April 9, 2010 in UK cinemas.



We will have much more on this, including premiere dates, and further international distribution.

A new report states that Tom Felton has been cast in the role of Patrick (the third lead) in a new film, The Apparition. The movie is by production house Dark Castle Entertainment (Orphan, Gothika, Thirteen Ghosts) with Todd Lincoln directing and writing.

Co-stars include; Ashley Greene (Twilight), Sebastian Stan (Gossip Girl), Julianna Guill, Luke Pasqualino (Skins) and Suzanne Ford (You, Me and Dupree). The film 'concerns a couple haunted by a supernatural presence in the wake of a college experiment.'

Producers include; Joel Silver (The Book of Eli), Andrew Rona (The Brothers Grimm) and Alex Heineman (The Strangers).

The project is rumoured to be shooting in Berlin, Germany; Tom arrived in the city on Sunday, according to his Twitter account.

UPDATE: Feltbeats has received confirmation that Tom will indeed be starring in the film. As stated above, Tom is currently in Germany to film Apparition, which he will do for a few weeks. From then, he will complete shooting in Los Angeles.

Actor James Phelps was interviewed earlier today on BBC Radio 606, during which time he spoke about his favourite football team, Birmingham, revealed that he hasn't been back to the Deathly Hallows set for filming in the past couple of weeks, and announced yet again that he and brother Oliver will be attending the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park opening this spring.

Emma Watson was recently interviewed by the Daily Express, where she spoke about trying to live a normal life at Brown University, adjusting to her college lifestyle, some advice her Harry Potter costars gave her in regards to roommates (Dan Radcliffe explicitly warning her against it), her fashion line People Tree, being the cover girl for Burberry, and the end of the series.

Today, February 6, marks Weasley patriarch Arthur's birthday. Arthur Weasley - father of seven, and husband to Molly - is played in the Harry Potter films by veteran actor Mark Williams.

Two new interviews have been released to promote the upcoming release of the Harry Potter LEGO Years 1-4 video game. The first, which can be viewed below, has Jonathan Smith, development director of Travellers Tales, discussing the general themes of the game, including how the plots for Sorcerer's Stone, Chamber of Secrets, Prisoner of Azkaban and Goblet of Fire were distilled to be brought to life via LEGO.



The LEGO video game's official site has also been updated with a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the game, where one of the character artists shows, via computer graphics, how Buckbeak the Hippogriff escaped from his chains in segments mirroring the end of the third book.

Several new aerial shots of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter have been released, revealing Hagid's Hut hidden in the middle of a small woods area. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter opens this spring.

In a profile on Helena Bonham Carter's professional life, which was compiled to promote the upcoming release of Alice in Wonderland, the actress briefly voiced her opinion on the condensation of the Harry Potter plots from book to film.

Alice in Wonderland, co-starring fellow Harry Potter alumni Frances de la Tour (Aunt Imogene) and Paul Whitehouse (the March Hare), will be released on March 5, 2010.

The Today Show has launched a contest for young Harry Potter fans in the US to win a trip to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter this spring. A video explaining the contest can be seen below.



Teachers from the continental United States (excluding Alaska and Hawaii), who teach students aged 5-18 are eligible. They must send in a 3-minute video explaining the following:

The judging criteria is based on the following: Originality and Creativity (30%), Responsiveness to Question (30%), Camera Readiness (20%), and Clarity of Communication (20%).

The deadline for entries is March 19. Winners will be chosen through online voting from April 23 to 29. [Editor's note: This would indicate that the Wizarding World will open in either May or June.] Complete rules can be found here.

Emma Watson was interviewed for the current issue of Coco Eco magazine about her upcoming People Tree fairtrade fashion line-up. New photos accompany the article, in which Emma explained how she was inspired creatively to make new designs on the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows set last year, and the fact that it took four months to put together. As it is well past midnight in the UK, today, Wednesday, February 3rd, marks actor Warwick Davis' ever-monumental 40th birthday! Warwick is best known to Harry Potter fans for playing Professor Filius Flitwick throughout the series, as well as Griphook the goblin in the upcoming Deathly Hallows.

Rumours circulated last week stating that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Parts I and II would be featured entirely in 3D in conventional theatres (no word yet on IMAX), as well as in standard 2-dimension. The Hollywood Reporter has now received confirmation of the fact:

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be released November 19, 2010 and July 15, 2011.
