New interviews with Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson were published in this week's Sunday Times (Rupert's feature can be read here). Highlights from Dan and Emma's segments have been released online, where the Harry Potter star spoke about how Ron and Hermione have lost faith in his alter-ego in the final installments, Deathly Hallows. Emma discussed the final day of filming, and the stability the movie franchise gave her while growing up.

Quote:

"I've always said about Harry Potter that it's rather like the mafia," [Radcliffe] says. "Once you're in, you're never out."

He is unsure how he feels about leaving it all behind. "It will be very strange," he says. "I can't predict how I'll react. All of my teenage years are linked to every frame of Harry Potter."

Quote:

"As far as his relationship with Ron and Hermione goes, it's one of them gradually realising that Harry has no idea what to do," he says. "Harry has no plan, he's just winging it. So as they lose faith in him, he starts to become more paranoid and isolated and, I suppose, angrier."

Having grown up on film sets, the joy of being there, he says, "outweighs any tricky moments outside - that's what matters to me, what I love, where I want to be for as long as possible".

"The last day of filming was the end of an era," [Watson] says. "Dan, Rupert and I put our arms around each other and broke down in floods of tears. It was hugely emotional."

"At the same time I'm really looking forward to finally being free, being my own person. It's been a really, really long time doing this."

"Making the films has been a constant in my life," she says. "Very stabilising, even if people think the opposite."

"I haven't been able to change my hair for 10 years," she says. Hermione decreed continuity. Now Watson has moved on, with a striking haircut that transforms her into a different woman.

"Some people don't like it, they think it's an outward expression of my inner torment. Honestly! I just had a haircut."

UPDATE: Dan and Emma also spoke to the Sunday Sun about their involvement in the Harry Potter series. Dan discussed his close relationship with the crew on set, in addition to Emma and Rupert; Emma went on about the action scenes she had to film for Deathly Hallows, something she had not done since Prisoner of Azkaban seven years previous.

"That's the main thing in terms of growth - I have had all these amazing people to watch and learn from and hopefully that has come across in the performance."

"I have got to know them really well and I have found out that you learn much more about how a film set really works from a film crew than a film cast," [Radcliffe] says.

"Just from observing how they work and how it all goes on behind the scenes after all the other actors have gone upstairs.

"I like to hang around - and probably get in people's way - and just watch and see how things work."

"To me the film ends at the premiere," [Radcliffe] says. "So that will probably be the day that it really hits me. But it's on to new things and I am excited as well - and nervous."

"I haven't really done any action for a while, since about the third film," [Watson] says. "I haven't really been involved in any stunts or fights or anything.

"So this has been really fun as a break from some of the more heavy, emotional stuff. This film is quite tense and emotional and the plot is very fast driven - a lot happens.

"There is a lot of death and blood - it's quite heavy and that can be quite tough on you. So it's nice to have a release from that sometimes to go and do some play fighting and running.''

"On the one hand I am very excited to go away and do new things and move on," she says. "On the other hand it's really sad to say goodbye to people I have really cared about here - friends I have made.

"I have literally grown up here and Harry Potter is such a massive part of my life, I have to find new things to fill that gap. It's a big change."

Emma spoke about having to kiss Rupert and Dan on-screen for Deathly Hallows:

"That was a very strange day at the office," she says, laughing. "It was very awkward.

"He is like my brother and we grew up together so it was a very strange position to have to kiss someone you don't really feel that way about.

"I think we were worried that we wouldn't be able to keep a straight face and stop laughing for long enough to get the shot. But we managed it and I hope it looks good."

ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT IS THE TRUTH THOUGH!!! She is SO right with this comment- she had a HAIRCUT, yes shorter than her old cut, but still a cut. No reasoning just she wanted it, goodness gracious. The media and the public seriously need to stop analyzing everything. Any other person getting their haircut differently it would be ohh cool but no for Emma it is there is a reason she did it. I think a huge reason people think "inner torment" is because you have crazies like Britney Spears who did do their cuts as "inner torment" so people automatically assume the same w. Emma. Difference being Emma didnt go crazy like Britney Spears. GO EMMA for saying the obvious

It's like when you graduate high school and say good bye to your friends. I am sure they will always stay in touch and all but it wont be the same seeing each other daily.

I´m totally agree with Emma that it will be the end of an era. I can´t believe that it will end pretty soon, it's exciting but at the same time be very sad for all who are faithful fans since the first book. still don´t know how to react when I see the second part and see the famous THE END. I think that I to cry a lot because I feel that it was a big part of my childhood

And yeah, Emma has a point. It's just a haircut; it's not up to whether other people like her hair or not. Emma can have her hair any way she wants.

Dan's comment about the mafia is GREAT. His interviews never disappoint!

Emma's comment on her new hair style is spot on! Outward expression of inner torment? How do people come to that conclusion? Amazing! The photo of her in this article is really striking.

It's like when you graduate high school and say good bye to your friends. I am sure they will always stay in touch and all but it wont be the same seeing each other daily.

Of course there is a reason she did it! Like anyone, child or adult...when you're told you cannot do or have something (especially for a major part of your life), that is what you desire most! She was denied (sacrificed for the films even) something very basic that most take for granted. She finally got her chance, and I bet it felt o so good! I personally LOVE getting my hair cut. How it feels someone brushing your hair to cut it. How it feels so weird afterwards (most of all with such a huge change from very long to very short)
the first time you wash it or go to brush it..the whole thing. Why wouldn't she want something so basic? Come on!

Of course..on the other side ..here we are picking on the media, yet it's them exactly that got us this to read..and here we are devouring it like we just got done trick or treating and can't wait to dig into our bag of goodies and take the first bite.
