“For Merlin’s sake Ronald,” Hermione said feeling so frustrated with him that her head was beating like a drum and she was having a hard time seeing straight. Why did he have to be so difficult when it came to these matters?

“What? It’s not my fault that he is only using you for your brains,” Ron said folding his arms across his chest and getting defensive. “I, well, I think there are people better suited for you.”

Hermione’s eyes lit up at Ron’s words. Was this it? Was this the moment that he was finally going to tell her what she had been suspecting all along?

“Really?” she asked without a tone of sarcasm in her voice.

“Yeah, even Neville is better than him.”

Head pounding again, Hermione jumped to her feet and looked down at Ron.

“Why can’t you just admit that you like me and that I like you?” she shouted. Ron immediately turned red and Hermione reached for her wand. Not like this… “Confundo.”

Ron’s eyes went a bit hazy and he began to sway so much that he fell of the couch and hit his head on an end table.

“Sorry…” she whispered.
