Entering the late Headmaster’s office, Hermione looked around and felt sharp pinch in her chest when she saw the portrait of Professor Dumbledore fast asleep. The other portraits were empty, at the moment, which was very good considering what she had come here to do.

Looking around the room, Hermione took notice of the perch where Harry had told her that the Headmaster’s phoenix had always rested. Of the Pensieve where Harry and he had dove into Voldemort’s past looking for hints about how to defeat him. Picking up one of the books on the large wooden desk, she sighed heavily. With the thousands of books in his office, how was she ever going to find books on horcruxes?

A thought crossed her mind, but she shook her head at the ridiculousness of the idea. “It couldn’t possibly be that easy,” she mused. Or, had he known that she would come looking for the books in his office and had made it simple on purpose? “Accio horcrux books!” she said waving her wand. As she did, several leather bound books flew off the shelves and into her hands. Hermione shook her head. Dumbledore always was full of surprises.
