Marie's expression as she turned back around to look at her made the Slytherin stop for just a moment.
Her? What was she supposed to do? This was her boggart. She could conquer it. Yet it seemed her friend was losing control of the situation...in front of every body. She just needed to laugh a little, and then she'd be able to do this right?
But what to say to make Marie laugh!? This was more of Destiny's area, not hers. Destiny always got people to laugh. Wait... Destiny? "Think of Destiny as a chicken!"
That certainly made HER laugh. "Eating a WORM!"
Not trying hard enough? Right! Because she liked the situation she was in right now. She liked having everyone hear what her deepest fear was. She liked having everyone hear what she had done, how she had betrayed her friend's trust. Yeah, that's just what she wanted.
What was Evelyn talking about, Destiny as a chicken... eating a worm?
Then it hit her, the joint CoMC and Transfiguration class they had last term. Destiny had been turned into a chicken who tried eating a worm. Thinking of that made her giggle and
temporarily forget about the howler. But only for a short few seconds. It's kinda hard to forget something that keeps yelling at you over and over again. However now she felt she was ready to conquer that beast.
Turning back towards the ugly red monster she once again pointed her wand at it.
"RIDDIKULUS!" she shouted as she pictured Destiny!Chicken pulling that worm out of the ground. And in no time the howler was gone and there stood a chicken with a worm.
YES! IT WORKED!
Thank you Destiny and your goofy antics.
"I did it!" She said happily to Evelyn.
"Thanks for the help, I couldn't have done it without you."
Of course the boggart was gone but now Marie had to worry about Mina finding out about it since everyone in the class heard that stupid howler. She looked around the class hoping maybe no one recognized the voice as Mina. If they didn't then her secret would still be safe.
