The break from Voldemort was a very welcome one. The introduction of the Marauders was a nice delve into the past and it explained a bit about Snape's intense dislike for James, Sirius, and even Remus though I believe that most of Snape's dislike for Remus was because he was just there. The truth about Sirius Black, his innocence and the irony of the true betrayer, Peter. Remus is probably the most lovable character in this book. From his actual teaching of the Dark Arts to his patience with Snape and his knd nature.
On the other hand, Hermione surpasses overachieving and greatly annoys me in this book. As handy as the time turner was in saving Sirius and Buckbeak, why she was given allowance to it in the first place is beyond me. Have previous students been allowed the same privilege? Also another thing is the disrespect of the teachers, likable or not. Hermione with Trelawney and the Trio with Snape, where was the punishment or the reprimand?
I'd give it a 7.5 out of 10. |
