Patroclus dug his hand into his satchel, withdrawing a notepad, and a quill but had no intention of using them, he was trying to find some spare coins, incase he should feel hungry.
"Next year is going to be different, there will be quite a few new teachers and the TriWizard tournement, do you think they will excuse us from finals?" the lion could dream.
Patroclus pretended to look out the window, at the country scenery that was rushing by, but he had noticed the Marie was crying again. The boy was totally unsure what to do, he wanted to be nice, but he got the feeling that Marie didnt want attention.
"Well most of my break will be spent either in london or in france, but there is talk of a trip to China, Dad has some work there, which could be fun, haven't been to China since I was only a newborn," and he couldn't remember any of that obviously!
"What about yourself? Catching up with Evelyn and Destiny?"
Marie watched as Patroclus pulled a notepad and quill out of his pocket. What was he going to do... take notes on what they talked about? Why would he want to do that? She didn't have anything exciting to say.
"Yeah, it seems every year half the staff is different." Now that she thought about it the only ones left from her first year were Professor Vindictus and the groundskeeper, Mr. Masterson.
"We can only hope we get out of finals. They were killer this term so a break would be great." Maybe they could get out of homework too. Right, like that would ever happen.
"Wow, sounds like you have a fun summer ahead of you." Unlike her summer of doing nothing.
"Yeah, I'm supposed to go to Destiny's in a couple of weeks. I don't know if I'll go though." All she really wanted to do was stay home and hide in her room until it was time to go back to school. She really wasn't in the mood for her crazy friend.
All this talk about summer just made her think about how much she was going to miss Carter and not knowing when she would see him again. feeling like the tears could start up again at any time she looked out the window. After sitting there silent for a few minutes she looked back over to Patroclus.
"Have you seen Carter today?" she asked with apparent sadness in her voice. Surely he seen him since they were in the same house and dorm room... right? Maybe he would know if Carter was taking the train home.
