Deciding that it was time to get started, Professor Lawson cradled the kneazle in her arms and stood up from her wooden stool.

"Welcome to Care of Magical Creatures," she began. "I have something very special planned for you this year. During the summer we had a record number of baby creatures born here at Hogwarts. A lot of you have been able to care for your own baby creatures in the past." She stroked the kneazles fur gently as she spoke, eying a few of the students that still kept their creatures in the Sanctuary.

"Because I feel like you've all truly benefited from that experience, I have decided once again to open up the Magical Creatures Nursery."

"Before we can get started caring for these animals, we are going to have to learn a bit more about them. Their needs... their environment... their temperament. What type of interaction will be the most beneficial to their growth and well being?" Iliana paused, allowing them to take in what she'd just said.

"Now, just so you know, the kneazle is not the only creature will be discussing today. But since I already had Samara out... I figured she'd be a good place as any to start," she said. "I want each of you to raise your hand and give me one fact, or describe one characteristic of the kneazle."
