Oh, so he was being challenged now? Pfft. "My polka dots are way better than your polka dots plus my shade of green is cooler." Okay, so it was the same shade, but still. Jimbo's was cooler. She was stealing HIS idea. Not the other way around.
Keeping his wand out, Jimbo was a bit excited to get started. He loved Charms. When he was being home schooled he was so good at charms his parents had to teach him more advanced spells. Not too advanced, but he was currently at about...a fifth year level or so. Around there.
So when the Professor demonstrated the spells they were going to be doing, he couldn't help but smirk. He knew how to do this stuff already, despite not being that great a cook. Placing his mixing bowl and wooden spoon in front of him he was so confident that he tried to do it non-verbally.
He swished and flicked his wand to try the Wingardium Leviosa spell, but it didn't work no matter how hard he tried. Okay, so maybe he couldn't do it non-verbally. Not yet, anyway. Oh, well. Trying the wand movement again he said, "Wingardium Leviosa!" and the bowl rose. "Fixate!"
Doing the same with the wooden spoon, he got them both in mid-air and tried the next spell. "Locomotor spoon!" Turning his wand, the spoon mimicked his movements. Grinning, he tried the last spell and prepared himself to catch the bowl and spoon. "Finite!"
*CLATTER*
Okay, so he didn't catch it. Oh, well. "Accio." he mumbled. He placed the materials in front of him and smiled when they were told to start baking. He flipped his book to the right page and looked it over. Nodding, he looked around for a partner and his eyes landed on Monty once more.
"Hey, Monty. Do you need a partner?"
Iris raised her eyebrows with a grin.
"Of course you didn't." She said to him, not saying whether she was refering to the idea or the fact that he 'didn't notice her'.
"Nah. They're pink. And its the same shade of green." She said to him VERY briefly, her eyes not looking away from Professor Carlton. WHEE! Charming time. hehe. Iris liked charms.
Iris made a mental note of everything the professor said, and copied her as she did. Okay. So, bowl in front of me.
"Wingardium Leviosa!" She muttered to herself, and carefully raised her bowl, then said
"Fixate!"
Then she picked up the spoon and muttered the spell, "Locomotor Spoon!" Then, sticking her tongue out slighting in consentration, she began to turn her wand, and watched the spoon mimick it.
UNLIKE Jimbo, Iris reckoned she'd be able to catch it, so, one hand under the bowl, she muttered the spell that would cancel them all out. "Finite!" Oh yes. The bowl didn't even need to fall.
She looked at Jimbo and stuck her tongue out at him. He failed.
"Do I need a partner? Yes. I do. So I'll be YOUR partner. And We'll be awesome in our POLKA DOT green aprons. hehe."
Scooting down the work bench, she looked at the book that Jimbo was holding. "Eww. Those are plain, boring fairy buns." She said to him, refering to the basic cake recipy that was open on the page.
So she took the book off him, and flicked through it until she found the recipy that she wanted. "I reckon we should make some
Butterfly Cakes. They're easy AND cute!" What's not to lose with them?
Iris looked at Jimbo and grinned, with a look that said they WERE going to make these cakes. Even if it was a butterfly. Looking round the class, Iris noticed that a lot of other people seemed to be very far ahead of them. Oops. That seemed... bad. They'd just have to work quicker to catch up.
Seeing as though Iris could bake, they'd be able to finish them quickly if Jimbo could bake too, and something told her that he could. Because he liked food.
Not bothering to let Jimbo argue, she got up and got the things they'd need, the ingredients and the utensils, and dropping them onto their work bench.
