"One could say that, somewhere along their paths, the elements transit into each other, each becoming a little part of the other. Some, of course, more than the other."
Okay, what had she just said? "I mean," she smiled up at Tibi. "Earth needs water to live. Fire needs water to die. Both of them need water, but in different ways. But both ways are important." Because life and death knew how to bleed into each other.
"... and you know, water can erode earth, and earth can kill fire. Goes to show the interconnectedness that there is, among them. They need each other - in some ways, are each other." Quote:

Good answer. She sounded like she knew what she was on about and Oliver, well.. didn't really have a clue.
He straightened up and raised his hand deciding to have a stab at this and try and simpify what was going on in his head cos it was all just a load of jumbled up thoughts in there right now.
“Sir.." Sir? – heh. Seemed so funny calling nine year old, 'sir'. “All things are created from fire, wind, water, and earth and they need each other to exist. As Gold said...” he gestured at the Gryffie prefect. “...Fire needs oxygen to burn as well as earth, and water needs earth and vice versa. Everything is connected in some way, maan." Eh? Did that even make any sense?
Shrug.
Oh, maan and then he started to smirk again. He just couldn't help it, could he?
Smiiirk.
Stoopid bloody face. Tiberius had sat back down on his chair near the board and crossed his legs under him as he listened. Nodding he rested his elbows on his knees and put his chin in his hand. "Exactly," he said excitedly. "And air can extinguish fire, too. And fire can turn water into vapor which puts it in the air, and water and earth mix all the time and some people would say there's spirit in all of it." Tibi grinned broadly. Quote:

Wow he's actually doing a good job she thought. Tiberius turned to Violet. "I have sets for you to use in class," he said smiling. "But they're really easy to make yourself."
Tibi sat up, leaving his legs crossed. "I guess now would be a good time to tell you more about the runes, how they were made and their use, and then we can work with them a little later."
Leaning over, he grabbed the bag with his personal set and dumped them into his hand. Holding up North, he addressed the class. "These runes are made from clay, instead of wood or stone on purpose. From what Gold and Oliver said, you can maybe guess why." Tibi paused, grinning. "Clay is both earth and water in combination. And once the clay is molded and the shapes cut into it, it needed fire to make it hard. And then after that, they needed to cool in the air. Add in the reflection you should do on the meanings of each of the runes in your own life, and each piece represents the whole: earth, air, water, fire and spirit; north, east, west, south, center; creation and infinity."
Tibi looked around the room. This was getting easier. "There are a few ways to use these runes, but remember, they don't tell the future. They give you something to focus on. They point your attention in a certain way. But they don't tell you what is going to happen. They only get you to think about what might. Or maybe what has already."
Tibi dropped North back in his bag. "Because of that, the meanings for these runes can be really personal. What I have written down for you are meanings that are pretty basic ones for the element or the direction or the season. But if South or fire or summer for you brings up a particularly strong feeling or association, you should consider that, too." "What I want everyone to do is look over the list of runes and their meanings and pick one rune. Then, come up with a few possible meanings to add to it for when you do your readings. If one doesn't stand out for you, use the direction you're sitting in. The board is in the north, so those closest to it would be North. Opposite it, south. To the right, east. To the left, west."
Tibi stood up. "I'll be around if anyone has any questions. Oh! And you can work together if you want, but remember that you may not have the same feelings about particular elements or directions." ooc: I'm going out for a while, so feel free to RP talking to each other about what meanings you might add to a particular rune. I said one to spread it out a little more. If you work together, you can talk about one rune per person (so a two person group could talk about two, etc).
