Obviously, they were going to do the small talk thing. Chloe sat back down at her desk. "I just moved to London, actually. Thought I grew up just outside of it, so it's not too far from family and whatnot." Chloe wouldn't yet mention that her boyfriend, on the other hand, lived in Denmark, and she spent a lot of time at his home.
"
I should take your tip of keeping my desk organized. My office at home looks worse," she shook her head. Then again she was still in the process of cleaning it. She had almost lived in it a year now. It was exciting. "
If you wish," she shrugged. This is where she missed Jake even more. He had never minded the formalities. She had once been like Chloe. But learned otherwise. "
I used to be another employee just like you. I guess that's why I feel so odd. Plus I kind of hate my last name," she said to her, taking seat in the chair.
"
That's good. Being closer to the Ministry is always helpful," Briony nodded with a smile. This woman was going to have to loosen up or she was going to go crazy. This meeting was now going to feel like talking with Lucy for the first time. "
Are you married?" was her next question.
