 Constant Vigilance! O_O AWAKE!
It was time.
Svensson picked a slip of parchment with the bulk of his notes written on it and carried it to the board. He glanced at the first line of notes written on it and turned to face the class. Well, some of the class. Some of them had their backs turned to him. Maybe he should have waited to arrange the desks in a circle until later. Or maybe he should stand in the middle of the circle? No, then he would have his back to some of them. This way, if they really wanted to look at him, they could turn around.
"Good afternoon," Svensson said with a smile after he waited for everyone to sit down. "Welcome to History of Magic." He took a deep breath before beginning his first spiel. "As wizards--and witches--our community as a whole has more history than most single persons would think to study in a lifetime. Luckily for me, this means I have no shortage of material to teach you. Which means, of course, that we shouldn't waste time talking about things irrelevant to what we'll be studying today or letting our class be disrupted. I hope you'll agree."
Lars scratched his chin and stepped away from the board, walking toward the circle of desks. He had just changed his mind--he would not write anything on the board yet. Instead, he walked between the desks, not stopping for anything more than a brief pause.
