... but jealousy!? Honestly? Fluttery didn't want to share HIM with Puffy? But that was just ... silly! Rubbing the back of his neck anxiously, the Prefect listened to Professor Bunbury's solution to the problem. He had to give his plants a pep talk. And she wanted to hear it ... along with the rest of the class. Oh bummer.
Gulping, Clifford turned back to his plants and took a breath. Well, here goes nothing, he thought.
"Fluttery ... Puffy.." he started, glancing between the plants and pointing one stern finger at them. "This is NOT on, okies?" Ack. He was rubbish at stern voices.. "Cliffie here as PLENTY o' love to give, alright? And both of you's are gonna get your fair share of Cliffie loving."
... did that sound wrong? Eh. "Now, I want you BOTH to behave like the good little plants you are," he carried on, waggling his finger at them. Siiigh. Where did he go wrong? How did he manage to raise such silly plants? Was he a bad parent? "Don't go leaving me disappointed now.. or NONE of you will get any Cliffie loving." He glared at Fluttery.. and it seemed his 'pep-talk' had done the trick for Fluttery seemed to wilt in embarrassment.
"Well? How was that, ma'am? Stern enough? Am I a good Daddy?" Wheee! Anastasia took a step back from the plants and crossed her arms, seriously watching Clifford baby-talk his plants. Noono, it wasn't baby talk, it was parenting. Yep, that was it.
Cliffie-loving was the key...and indeed, Fluttery appeared to understand the point. Bad flutta.
When the boy was all finished, Annie nodded seriously and then broke into applause. "Excellent job, Prefect Carden, and what a fine example of how to talk to your plants if they aren't behaving." She beamed widely and then turned to the rest of the class.
"If you haven't done so already, please continue the planting with your puffapod next. When you're done, uh, make note of the homework and then you can be on your way."
She skipped down the dirt path a little ways to scribble with her wand some more. ooc: you still have about 24-hours to finish planting before I close the thread. Quote:

Feel free to go check up on your puffapod and flutterby, see if they need more water or another pruning, or you may even pick the puffa's flowers if they're large enough. Think of this as an 'independent study' and come up with a creative way to show me your results, whether it's a song or a picture or just a listing of what you did.
