"I've never heard of one turning nasty either," she said, thinking that a creature as beautiful and mystical as Calpurnia could probably never harm a human. Anna couldn't imagine why some people would want to harm such innocent creatures. Well, she knew
why---those people were selfish and wanted to prolong their lives. What she really couldn't imagine, though, is why someone would be so selfish in the first place...why they would want to tamper with the normal balance of nature. "Have you really rode a unicorn? I heard you tell Tobi that you had. What was that like?"
