Mindy had been looking at the picture of her family with a dazed expression on her face for the past ten minutes. She was remembering a certain incident involving all five of the women in the photo and a ten foot tall birthday cake.
Mindy's attention was only diverted when she noticed an airplane shoot into the room and land in her tray. She no longer jumped at the sudden arrival of these messages; Mindy had gotten used to it sometime in her four years.
After giving the picture a fleeting chuckle, Mindy picked up the message. She flattened it out and read it. After reading it through once more, Mindy sighed. Just Obliviate the entire country if you have to, the woman thought. She often had thoughts like this, but they were never spoken aloud. Mindy was just thinking of silly ideas that would get her out of working.
Mindy twirled her chair around in a circle. Still no one else had arrived. She grabbed a self-inking quill, realizing that she might as well get started on this case alone. No need to wait around for the others when she could get a good start on her own.
Mindy began to chew on the end of her quill as she scanned over the report again. The explosion would obviously need to be explained. And if the muggle saw the man's wand, that would need explaining as well... She continued to chew on the quill's end, trying to come up with a creative yet logical idea.
