Mindy entered the Muggle Worthy Excuse Committee's workroom. She was the first one there. As the Committee's leader, Mindy had the largest desk, which was placed in the center of the room.
Filing cabinets were lined up again two walls - they were full of the Commitee's past documents and paperwork. A short tray was set on one corner of Mindy's desk. This was where the accident reports were supposed to be put before she distributed them among the Committee members. Mindy's desk also contained an array of other items: a silver utensil cup, which held quills and spare ink bottles; a moving photograph of Mindy with her mum, grandmother, Aunt Linda, and Aunt Heather- they were all smiling and waving, and occassionally, Heather would make a silly face; a green folder, filled with finished reports that needed to be presented to Marius; and a used coffee cup from the day before. The drawers on Mindy's desk contained many things, too, but she didn't dare look through those. She had failed to organize them for the fourth year in a row.
Mindy took a seat on the black chair behind her desk. Its color conflicted harshly with the light purple of the woman's robes. After taking a swig out of the coffee cup in her hand, Mindy placed the cup beside the one from the day before. She eyed the accident report tray. It was empty; that was unusual. "Hmm..."
Shrugging off this strange occurance, Mindy assumed the reports would come in within a matter of minutes.
