Harry trudged his way to classroom eleven, the stage for his first detention. McGonagall had him in a different room each day. How was he supposed to-

"Mr. Potter." A weezy voice coughed from the room. Harry groaned.

"Not you." Filtch shuffled out into the hallway, Mrs. Norris following, hissing at Harry.

"That's right Mr. Potter. You can start now." Filtch pointed to the small room. Harry looked around.

"There's nothing in here."

"My apologies, we're in the wrong room. Go through that door, and don't come out until everything is sparkling." Harry shrugged, and went through the door at the end of the room, passing brooms and furniture polish. He opened the door, and let out a groan of defeat.

"All of it?" He asked Filtch miserabley. Filtch nodded, smiling.

"And no magic. See you in a few days." Filtch left Harry at the door, looking at the entire Hogwarts Library.

And Filtch was right about one thing. It did take Harry a long time to finish the Library. His whole detention week, to be exact. By the time he was done, he was under the impression that McGonagall had no soul at all.

Hermione approached Kit outside in the courtyard later that day, while Harry was hard at work in the library. Kit was practicing her transfiguration, and was trying out a new spell.

"Kit?"

"Ah!" Kit yelped, and her spell shot out at Neville, who was reading a book. The spell hit him directly, and with a puff of feathers, Neville had turned into a toucan. "Sorry Neville!"

Neville squawked, and Kit looked up the counter curse and performed it. Neville turned back into himself and quickly left, taking his book with him, in search of a more quiet and safer place to read. Kit turned to Hermione.

"Can I help you, Ms. Sl*t?"

"Kit, that's not fair. And you know it. I'm just here to ap-"

"No. I don't want to listen." Kit put a hand up. "You hurt your friends when you decided to play this game Hermione. What makes you think that a simple apology is suddenly going to make everything better?"

"Kit, if you'd just listen...that's all I want. Can you grant me that?"

"Fine. But don't expect a big reaction." Kit sat back down on the slab of stone, her face a likewise.

"Good. First off, I'm not a sl*t. It's been very hard for me. I don't think you knew this, but....for awhile, Draco and I dated in secret-"

"WHAT?" She clearly did not know this. Hermione rushed on.

"-and it was a messy break-up. We were both hurt, but I knew it had to be done. Then I started dating Harry. And it felt like my heart was whole, complete. But...it wasn't. When Harry left, Draco was selected as the new Head Boy. And that made me fall in love with him all over again, since we were on our own alot."

Kit was silent.

"But now that you've...well, put it in perspective for me, I have been a player...and, well, a sl*t. But I want to change. But I don't know who to choose. Can you help me Kit? Please?"

Kit was stunned by the plea. This girl had broken so many hearts, so many people. But she was willing to change. And....she was willing to help. Kit got up and put an arm around Hermione.

"Hermione....I'm sorry too. I'll try to help you in anyway I can." Hermione hugged her back, and the tears flowed from her eyes. Kit held her.
